Very nice spot to come for drinks and /or food. There is an inside area and an outdoor area. We did the flights which let us figure what we liked . My favorite was the sabro and uncle giggles. Was not a fan of the GWB. Service and folks, who work there are great and very friendly.

What a cool spot for fresh beer, good bites, "hip" music and good people. The beers were delicious and the staff was great. The setup is so cool, great theme that weaves the whole experience together. Inside has a bit of a diner feel with counter seats and booths. Outside there are picnic tables and benches. Reminds me a bit of Kilowatt Brew in San Diego. They had a real solid selection of beers, though not so many on the malty side. All were approachable and well balanced. The merchandise store was great as well. The beer has placements at a few tp houses in the area which was a very welcome sight. I totally recommend this spot for beers, cribbage and some great tunes with awesomes service all around.

Good Robot Brewing is a must stop in Halifax if you want to take in their beer scene. They feature a full food menu of very tasty food - we sampled their fish tacos, haloumi wrap, duck spring rolls, and Asiago fries, and enjoyed them all. More importantly they have a very creative and thoughtful beer. Their Pink Flamingo Radler is one of the best watermelon beers I have tasted, don't miss it on a hot summer day. Their Viking pineapple beer is also good in the same vein - subtle flavor, very drinkable. For the Twin Peaks lovers in the house they feature a a coffee and cherry pie ale brewed with a local coffee roaster - that beer you like is coming back into style! The branding and marketing is all very creative - each beer has some of the most distinctive individual branding I have ever seen - a lot of them riff of of pop culture, but in a great way. The outdoor space is super cool. At night they regularly screen films. If I lived in Halifax I would be a regular - these folks know what they are doing! The people I talked with were all super nice and helpful. Bottom line this is a great spot, try it out for a fun dinner and a great beer!

Just had my first visit to Good Robot this week and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get there! I hadn't heard too much about the place but they always have fun events going on and it seems to be quite busy so something good must be happening there, right? Correctamundo! Great beers on tap, and not just GR ones either. And really neat menu of snacky things. Salvatore's pizza at peak times, yummy things from their neighbor Mary's, and other good things I can't remember. I do remember that I wanted many of the food offerings though... Very cool decor too.

The back of the menus are so neat!

I went to Good Robot last Monday for their weekly (I think?) Goodwill Bot event where they donate $1 from each drink sold to a local community group. This week's group was FOUND Forgotten Food (full disclosure: I volunteer/intern for them!) so I went and enjoyed a bevvy and some great ambience. I hadn't been to Good Robot yet - I'm not a huge pub person in general and I often turn into a pumpkin once it gets dark outside. ;) So it was a bit of a miracle that I made it out, to be honest! I'm so glad I did, though. The amazing scent of hops and brewing wafted down the street as my friends and I walked from our parking spot and it made me real excited like to get inside. Love the inside - it's a multi-floor set up with a super cool bar area (the menu is posted on copper piping!) and robot motifs everywhere. Everything about this brewery screams fun and light hearted and I can definitely say I'm in love. I don't drink beer, so unfortunately I couldn't sample any of Good Robot's actual wares, but I did have a Shipwreck cider, which was delish! They were also serving up Rinaldo's sandwiches that night, though I was stuffed from dinner so didn't sample any of that. My friends told me that the tofu sammich was divine.

Best bar in this area.. Simple menu. Nice interior, great exterior. They have a store, with merch, take away. Also a nice website.

The Good Robot is a wonderful place. The beer is really good, as is the food. And it has a great atmosphere; with a view of the commons.

Even though we knew about where it was, we walked right past the beautiful two-story historic house initially. We knew by taking a look at the website they do not accept reservations, which was fine with us. We were, however, going on a Friday night. On walking into the main entry, that space was packed wall-to-wall. Within a few short minutes, one of the staff greeted us. They don't exactly have a formal wait list here, from what I could tell. The staff member offered us the drinks menu and asked if we'd like to order something while we waited on a table. We ordered up a couple of pints, then looked around for some open space to stand. They have two standing bar rails, one in the main area near the bar itself and another one in the middle dining area. This place has about the most creative layout of booths and tables I've ever seen. They do have an outdoor patio out back, but we didn't take a look at that. They have quite a few very comfy two-person booths around the interior. It appeared the way the wait list worked was that they either have a phenomenal memory, or they actually use the bar tab you open to work like a wait list. It seems to really be more about how many you have in your party, and the exact size of any tables/booths that open up. We might have waited about 30 minutes or so for our table for two up in the front of the main dining room. Every single person on the wait staff here is amazing. Let me just get that out of the way. The beer list is great, loaded up with so many good local and Nova Scotia craft beer options. The food menu is what really makes this place special, though. We were on vacation, so we may have a tendency for our eyes to be bigger than our stomachs can handle. There was just so many amazing looking dishes. We started out with a pickle jar, fried taters, and the tomatoes appetizers. I have to say, and my wife agrees, the tomatoes dish was the best of everything we had. Its made up of sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, shallots, capers, and garlic chips. All that is sitting on top of creme fraiche. By the time you're finishing the dish, you start thinking about a straw to finish up that creme fraiche. Good grief, that was so good. Don't pass on the fried taters, though. Those seemed to be mashed potatoes formed into rectangular big fries, cooked almost like panko and served with horseradish sour cream. After all that, we could only muster splitting the deli style chop salad with cold water shrimp on it. Our great waitress talked us into an order of the brown bread, a very soft kind of Irish soda bread I believe. That bread just melts in your mouth. If you decide to venture out to The Narrows, you're in for a total experience. You'll feel like you stepped back in time to a real British pub... the house must be from somewhere around the mid 1800s. Every room is warm and cozy, with beautiful woodwork and curious antiques in all sorts of nooks and crannies. You may have quite a long wait depending on the size of your party and how busy the place is, but trust me... its worth every minute.

Having been to the Young Street Brown Hound location a dozen plus times, I decided to try the Agricola location for my Friday evening birthday dinner--a decision I quickly regretted. I arrived around 7 PM to a full house and sat at one of the two tables by the side entrance, as I was grateful to actually get a seat anywhere in this place. Initially, things started well- I got a server right away who took my order for an Island Folk Cider and the fish and chips. My food was dropped off about 20 minutes later, and the food itself was excellent, just as expected from my Young Street experiences. However, after my food was dropped off, I received zero service. I sat there for a further half an hour with an empty glass- no offer of another drink- and I missed out on ordering a coffee and dessert. Eventually, a different server came by to clear my plate, and I just asked for the bill. My original server finally reappeared with the bill and debit machine, featuring a 20% automatic gratuity already added. When I politely told her that I had received *zero* service after my food was dropped off and that it was my birthday, she was genuinely sincere and apologetic, even offering me a drink on the house. While I appreciated her offer, I declined because at that point, I just wanted to leave and go on with the remainder of my evening. * Management note: With this popular location, you appear to need to better staff your evenings so staff is not stretched from working front patio, back patio, inside, bar top, and outer entrance tables where patrons are forgotten about, which is understandable. The lack of service I received reflects solely on *you*, the management, NOT on the servers who are hustling full speed for minimum wages. The service levels at Agricola Street were laughably lower quality than at Young Street, which is also busy afternoons through evenings and is very popular, with multiple seating areas inside and outside the Young Street location. I will patronize Stillwell, Studio East, Chain Yard, and the Young Street Brown Hound for future outings that actually provide customer service to their customers, full house or not. 5 Stars for the food, and 2 stars for the sweet, apologetic server I had upon paying my bill--that's it. Never again, and I'll take my hard-earned money elsewhere in the future. Not that my review matters, in light of the popularity of your pub and its trendy location. Better places, food and service are nearby, friends...
