I was in the area on a Saturday around 11am and decided to stop by. We were looking for a breakfast place with places to sit. To my surprise there were so many donuts still available! How exciting. Good things donuts is a donut shop located in fort walton Florida just across the long bridge at the entrance. My family and I was staying in the Marriott right as the bridge ended and we decided to sleep in today and miss the complimentary breakfast. This place is super close. So while my wife and other kids showered and got dress for the day me and my second oldest walked to this shop to get some donuts. We got an assorted dozen and a half. It was later morning so not much to choose from. My biggest and only knock on this place is there bigger and specialty donuts they do not offer a by them dozen assorted discount or a mix and match value. It's a charge per donut. To the workers credit they told me that as soon as I was gonna add a specialty donut to my normal donut order. She said they are about double the price. So we stick with all basic donuts. My daughter and me before walking back the goodies we got to the others sat down and ate a few donuts and got us some hot chocolates. I will say the chocolate glazed donut was phenomenal. The other donuts I tried were good but didn't touch the chocolate glazed. Hot chocolates were a tad bit sweet but still good. Overall cool place with nice and honest workers. I disagree with the business model on signature donuts and also felt they were a bit high on even regular donuts (18 donuts and 2 hot chocolates cost around 24 bucks). However they are in a big tourists spot and all places charge more. So that's to be expected even on donuts I guess. Still it did the trick. Filled our tummies with some tasty donuts for a late breakfast before we hit the beaches for the Day. read more

First time here. Didn't know what to expect as for as taste and consistency. I have to say these are as close to perfection as for as my tastes are concerned and I've eaten many donut places and am very particular. I got there when the doors open at 4:30 am and was met with a sweet and kind young lady who filled my order. I ordered regular dozen to my choosing and another 1/2 dozen of special donuts. The taste was amazing on the donuts I had for early breakfast. The special donut twists are huge! Price may be a little high I'm not sure. But being in a tourist area it may not be. I just know I like quality over quantity and this place delivers that! If your in the area, and craving donuts, I highly recommend stopping here. Good Morning! Good Donuts! Good Coffee! Several stops have revealed a few hints. If it's a normal (weekday) morning, get here early. They do run out of some items. This past Sunday I got here at 9:30 and there was still a wonderful array of donuts and sweets from which to choose. Tender dough filled or topped with an assortment of sweet glazed, dripped, drizzled, and dolloped dots. Two kinds of fritters (usually my fave)...apple and pineapple. The pineapple was sweet but with only a paucity of pineapple pieces. The apple similar...could use a heftier portion of real apple; both were still delicious. Two kinds of cream filled - custard and vanilla cream. And, then there's more - other jelly-filled and old fashioned (this is a great cake-style as opposed to yeast raised). Great texture and flavor, excellent for dunking. And still more. So get there early...it'll be a Good Thing....Donuts for you! read more

Fresh doughnuts. We arrived Saturday at 9am only 2 people in line. We got 2 regular doughnuts.95 cents and 2 specialty doughnuts $2-2.50. We spend about $6. The unglazed doughnut had a lot of oil and it leaked out of the brown bag. I did get an under stomach after eating the cinnamon twist but worth it ... lol read more

Absolutely loved this donut shop when we were driving thru the area. From the reviews, they do tend to run out early, which makes sense because they're sooo good! There was a nice young lady working the counter and she was so patient as I could be so indecisive. A quiet private owned donut shop not a chain. Doesn't look like much from the outside but walking inside and smelling fresh fried donuts and the welcoming hello from the counter. They are soft and yummy. Went back for more. Will definitely stop here on our next trip to Destin. read more

When I visit Ft Walton beach, I make it a point to stop here at least once. The last trip I bought a bear claw and a cinnamon roll. They were both amazing and I will put them on top of my list for my next visit. Their donuts are so much better than those baked donuts at other donut shops. I really like Good Things. It's a local donut shop with a great variety of donuts and pastries. If they are out of something, they'll make it for you while you wait unlike most of the other donut shops in the area. Coffee selection is a bit limited, but they have the basics. Might be good to have more coffee options, but I just usually get my order to go and greet coffee elsewhere. Prices are reasonable...cheaper than Dunkin, I think, or about the same. They have Wi-Fi and a lot of parking. It's my favorite donut shop in the area. read more

As others have noted, you would be making a mistake to let their unpretentious building keep you from stopping here. They are a local family-owned business with friendly service and exceptional donuts. The coconut varieties were my favorites, but there is a wide selection. After trying them once on our visit, we went out of our way to stop there again on our way out of town. read more

Something about the glaze actually flaking on the glazed donuts, versus just being a runny melted mess like the chain places.. even the smell of Good Things, I'd you grew up in Crestview around the original location you know. Have been getting donuts & donut holes from the Crestview location since I was a kid, was excited about this one in FWB. Was my Friday breakfast every Friday at work for years, not just the donuts but the pig in a blanket too! The donuts we got this morning were absolutely delicious. These are probobly the best donuts in our area. They make them fresh so they are warm and delicious when you order them. Donuts were fresh and tasty!! Came in around 7:15 am on a Friday. No wait and we were helped right away. The section was not huge but definitely covered the basics and more. We didn't eat in but there was plenty of seating available. The coffee was also fresh and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Definitely worth a return next time we are in town. I was excited to try this small local donut shop. My husband and I came here while staying in Fort Walton Beach to get away from Hurricane Irma. It was just before 11:30 on a Friday when we rolled in. The place was empty except for two women finishing coffee at a table. You know, the problem with forming an opinion about a place after only having been once is that you could have gone on the one off day the place is having. Alas since I'll only be here for a few days I will probably only go once, and my experience wasn't so good. We walked in and were immediately told to "watch our step" because the floors were being mopped and were wet. No greeting, just that. There were barely any donuts left in the case and the place looked like it was about to close. I double checked and the hours were clearly posted open until 1:00. Thinking that I must have misinterpreted the greeting we received I went ahead and placed an order. The woman behind the counter replied - "To Go?" - to which I replied no, we wanted to enjoy our donuts here in the store. She looked surprised and a little bit perturbed but obliged and asked if we wanted anything else. See, this is what really got to me. I asked to have a cappuccino to sip with my donut. The woman pointed to a machine with three flavors, hot chocolate, French vanilla cappuccino and one other. When she saw the surprised look on my face she explained that the espresso machine right next to it was already cleaned and done for the day and that all she could make for me is this gas station cappuccino look-alike. Well, so much for my plan to caffeinate while getting a fix for my sweet tooth. I really, really, really hate it when a store advertises opening hours but then obviously hopes for no customers after a given time and in this instance really made us feel unwelcome. In my opinion the donuts were overly sweet to the point of not being enjoyable. A little bit of that sweetness would have gone a long way had it been shared among the donuts AND the staff. Too bad, I really wanted to like this place based on all of the other good reviews. read more

I arrived about an hour before closing time on a Friday. Very little selection. Only one of the many cases had anything in it and that one case had not even one full shelf. None of the offerings were traditional. All fairly exotic varieties including flavors such as bourbon and turtle cheesecake. At 2.95 a donut I chose to go elsewhere. Noone recognized my entry or exit. Fair number of customers so it has its atrraction. Probably tourists. read more

By far, the best doughnut shop in Okaloosa county! I've never been disappointed with any of their varieties. I usually prefer cake type or jelly-filled doughnuts and their selection is pretty good.
