This is not my first time to this Goodwill location, interesting finds with each visit. Parking is ok for this location, which suits the needs of this particular location. Inside is a modestly lit atmosphere of interesting and curious finds. The selections vary from clothing to home goods and other interesting items. The service was nice and friendly as well . Today l scored with double in getting (Parzival and I- Roc) Pop movie bobble heads for Less than eleven dollars. I will be back , to continue exploring this locations many interesting finds. read more

I should've took photos but if you go in person you'll see, it's the messiest Goodwill I've ever seen. Clothes on the floor everywhere. There are broken hangers and trash on the floor. It looks like it has never been vacuumed in months, very disorganized. Shoes and hats thrown on the floor. Lots of shoes are missing pairs. I stayed an hour and a half to shop and help clean up because it was so bad I couldn't find things I was looking for. I helped re hang clothes, pick up clothes and hangers and rehang hats for organization for me and other shoppers. I saw one lady run over all the hats with her cart so I figured I would pick them up. There was one unfriendly worker but she was a hard worker she was busy putting back clothes and having to come back up to the register often to ring sales. There was good selection at the store, just needs a lot of cleaning, organization, customer service to ring up customers and a lot more staff to help do these tasks. read more

All Goodwills have gotten greedy, but it stings more when the store is ratty, unorganized, and poorly managed. I dropped by here on my way home from work in the afternoon and it was surprisingly busy. This was prior to Halloween so they had a section near the doors for Halloween costumes and decor and it was so shoddy and sloppy, with everything just thrown onto a gondola into an indiscernible mess. The racks are stuffed but the merchandise is a mixed bag. I found much more than I expected to find, and in fact found some REALLY nice things, but the pricing is all over the place and I had to dig through a lot of mediocrity to find everything. The toys were in a shameful state, with everything just thrown into precarious piles on top of the children's clothing racks. No rhyme or reason to anything, just, "Is it a toy? Price it and stuff it up there." The home decor was a jumble of pots, vases, knick-knacks, kitchenware, and myriad other things all thrown together, though I did find a not-so-hidden gem for only a few bucks right up front and snatched it up. The back of the store is a dumping ground for furniture, walkers, art, and whatever else they can't find a place for. Really more of a graveyard for the things that should probably just go in a landfill and are barely usable anymore. In fact, much of the merchandise across the store was in a condition that ranged from fair to "why is this even being sold?" and was a major contributing factor to the overall rundown feel of the store. When it came time to pay, the cashier acted like she had somewhere better to be. She saw me standing right behind her at the counter two feet away, turned around, and turned back to the rack of clothing she was pretending to busy herself with until she decided she was ready to help me on her terms, when SHE felt it was time to help me. She acted annoyed and mystified as I continued to take things out of my cart and put them onto the counter and asked, baffled, "Oh, so... all of this is together?" Why wouldn't it be? I was standing there alone, everything was coming out of one cart, so I have no idea what was confusing her or why. She was one of the most unfriendly, miserable people I've ever encountered in retail. Maybe if she spent more time organizing the store into a place that looked and felt nice to be in, she'd be less of an unpleasant jerk. This was an out of the way stop for me and I don't have any desire to go out of the way to stop here again. Came here recently with a friend after Goodwill CA was bought out by Goodwill Arizona and oof, not a great change. What was once an organized and spacious feeling store is now cluttered to the max leaving the floor feeling stifling and messy. A lot of items that really should go into the trash were out on the floor with crazy prices. As others have pointed out, some used items were even above retail prices new. I saw a severely damaged backpack hanging on the rack up for sale, found a lot of broken toys or open boxes with missing contents out on the shelves. I have found some decent items here before with somewhat expensive pricing but now it's all trash with just expensive pricing, period. For a corporation that gets their entire stock for free, the greed is disgusting. Donation for this location seems to be closed on all days per Goodwill's website. read more

In terms of hiring and training, I feel that they like hiring someone who has difficulty communicating so that you don't argue about priced. I selected a shirt that had an original price tag of $6 and Goodwill priced it at $7.99. I asked how they can sell something higher than the original price. The fumble for excuses than try to say because it's new, and which I responded yes I know but it was originally sold for new at $6. read more

I brought several bags of merchandise to the Goodwill Donation Center in Burlingame on Saturday, 9/27/2025 at 9:00 am. The staff member who assisted me, Mr. Rayshawn, made the donation experience very pleasant. Mr. Rayshawn is helpful, polite, professional and has an evolved attitude about his work. When I commented to him that it can be challenging to work with the public, Mr. Rayshawn smiled and said, "I signed up for this job." Mr. Rayshawn has the wisdom of the Buddha. I believe Mr. Rayshawn would make an excellent trainer for new employees at the Donation Center. He really gets it. read more

I'm a thrift shop junkie and like to check out thrifts when I travel. After visiting the humane society's shop, we stopped by this Goodwill. First impression: oh my GOSH, it was HOT inside! The peninsula had a heat wave, and everywhere was hot, but this Goodwill was baking. The only relief came from a couple of fans inside the business. You had to stand right on them to get any cool air. It's an old building and looks tired, run-down, and not inviting at all. I headed for the restroom only to find out there was no restroom. An employee suggested the nearby service station. Not only is there no restroom, there are no fitting rooms open. A sign proclaims, "To our valued shopper - due to current staffing shortages, our fitting rooms are closed." Thus, as in every Goodwill in Arizona, you must try things on over your clothes or hope they fit. I noticed this Goodwill carries new items, such as socks and charging cables. It was so nasty hot that I didn't bother to check the prices. As for the prices, they were typical Goodwill prices. Jeans for $9.99 and $12.99. Shoes were better priced - I found some new men's Vans for $9.99. My daughter-in-law bought a very nice Old Navy rain jacket for $12.99, mistakenly placed among the men's jackets. My large adult son bought several LPs that he proclaimed were good finds. I found a nice Old Navy women's denim jacket mixed in with the men's jackets I might have bought if I did not already own 5 blue denim jackets. We stopped in as my daughter loves thrifting. We know Goodwill Stores tend to vary in offerings based on zip code/city so we expected some great finds. There were definitely and consistently better brands than we've seen in different areas but the pickings are slim. The store was super busy so the checkout lines got busy. Thankfully they had separate cash and card lines so being the rare customer who still carries cash now and then worked in my favor. As stated by other Yelpers, prices are higher than my local Goodwill. I didn't leave with my usual book(or two) but I did find some activewear finds. read more

They need to train their staff- YELLING AT CHILDREN... is a red flag. Many members of our church, including myself donate at the specific location and we love going to a place where our treasures can be somebody else's treasures. I leave this review as an advocate for a person who has no voice. So it leaves me feeling bittersweet because I did find the things that I really needed at a very low and reasonable cost; However, my time there was very dissatisfactory. When we enter a store, especially any kind of retail store or even a thrift store it doesn't matter. I come in there with principles of treating things kindly and leaving it the way that it was in a kindly fashion. I'm respectable. I product test items and make sure that things open and close properly whatever it is that I am looking at, I am going to certainly product test this item before I put it in my cart and buy it. What I won't accept at all -100%- someone raising their voice to my child and reprimanding them. I don't even raise my voice or yell at my children, and I am also in the education / educational field as an educator and trained in special needs. You do not raise your voice or yell at a child. And this is what that individual did. this employee, which happened to be one of shift managers ...did just that! Common, this is a secondhand store and she had the audacity to raise her voice at my child and when I confronted her about it and told her that my child was autistic , in her defense, she replied , well I didn't know that. Her response was unacceptable and just added more fuel to the fire and I told her it didn't matter if he was autistic or not. It is not your job to yell at any child in the store. No child should be yelled at in that manner. He didn't break anything, he was merely testing the product as I do and mimicking what I would normally do. Open the door of the toaster oven and checking to see if the timer worked. He was just mimicking what I would do, and there is nothing wrong with that. but she felt the need to confront him and raise her voice at him and then come up with an explanation that she didn't know he was autistic. It doesn't matter if he's autistic, he's a child My child then started to melt down. Saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry, and proceeded to tear up and became very unregulated. To make matters worse she walked off on me during the conversation. She was giving me the stink eye the whole 2 hours we were there and very cold and gave below par customer service when we checked out with her. No hello at the register but straight up stick up her behind attitude . She did not apologize or anything, her response was disheartening and disrespectful and very disappointing. She was plain rude. Since then my son has been hitting his head and self harming himself as well as apologizing for touching the item at the goodwill. Smh. I keep telling him and reassuring him that he did nothing wrong. I was very happy to speak with Derek the general manager and his assistant manager. They were very apologetic about the situation and very kind and very understanding. We need to realize that our world is different and we are a melting pot of neurotypical and neurodivergent children. They don't look a certain way- regardless you don't raise your voice at a child. Children look up to us for support, security, for learning experiences, and ways to thrive and grow, and when they are exposed to these type of negative experiences, they will hold it to their heart and in their mind and it will have a negative effect towards their life. Serveral reasons why this place sucks: 1) Overpriced garbage. Now, I understand the economy right now and why prices must be inflated, but I can't excuse pricing shirts with dry rot and dirty shoes and bags over $20. 2) The employees who clearly hate their job. Now, I understand that retail workers experience a lot of stress. But the people who work here, shouldn't be working retail as they seem to rage over the slightest inconvenience. I heard a man get chewed out for asking the price of an item without a tag. "The prince is on the price tag, sir!" "I know, but there's no price tag on this." She completely ignores him after this. I also witnessed a woman scolded for asking where she can send her donations. "We don't do donations on Mondays!" -that wasn't even her question and I didn't see a reason to scream at her for asking a question. Last I checked it's their job to answer them. 3) They don't carry bags. There are no signs explaining this, so you don't find out until it's time to checkout. I couldn't help but laugh when I was told this so I just left my stuff and left this store and will never be setting foot in it again. I came on a Tuesday to do a donation drop off. According to Yelp, it said it was not open for donations at this time. I checked the goodwill website and it did say this location was currently accepting donations. I made a quick phone call and the girl working said they were open but that I had to get here by 1:30pm for drop off. The website said it was until 2pm. But probably because they want to organize during the last half an hour. Upon arriving I was very surprised by how organized it was. There wasn't a large sign that said where to donate but I figured it was in the lot on the side of goodwill. They were very organized with the donations. They separated from different goods like shoes, purses, clothes and furniture. According to the guys that were working, they said they have been closed for donations for a year and that they just opened about a month ago. If you want a receipt for your donations, there is a QR code for you to scan at the center. I've donated at goodwills in LA and was surprised that they didn't have a more detailed receipt where you number the amount of bags you donated. Regardless, I'm just glad they are open and taking donations! If you have things you want to donate I suggest you give them a call to make sure they are open. I was disappointed & Disgusted at the Prices. A shirt sold at Walmart was $9.99 & one from Old Navy $9.99. Worn with ragged edges. I can get them new at those stores for around that price. The Burlingame store has higher prices than the other stores. In addition on a recent visit I was purchasing a small sauce pan. When the cashier was charging me she thought the sticker price was too low. She went to her manager and asked. He came back to me with a price of nearly 3 times as much. He insulted me by suggesting the price tag was wrong. I told him that as a good manager he should honor the price that was on the sticker which I assured I did not price it myself. It was less than $10 for a used saucepan of no particular name brand. He suggested that I check all the cookware prices. I refused and walked out without the purchase. It's a color-coordinated store that's also decently organized by size (though I'd recommend searching for interesting fabrics in all the sizes, especially since vintage sizing differs from contemporary sizing). Good range of gently used vintage pieces and newer items (lots of older style Ann Taylor blouses and some forever 21 and urban outfitters in the mix). Pricing is a bit higher due to COVID but it's all for a good cause! Most items are &5.99-$9.99 on average, and there's a $6.99 denim sale right now. Fitting rooms are closed and all sales are final (you can try on items over your clothes at a large mirror though). Friendly employees and they clean the counters after every customer checkout. read more

Misrepresenting items. I love up-cycling and the idea of purchasing items that won't go straight to a landfill. I have always supported goodwill and never have I ever bought something passed off as good condition that was literal trash. I bought this item taped up in a box so I couldn't see the condition but upon purchasing and opening the item it was useless. This used to be my favorite Goodwill to go to because of the abundance of items they had available. But on my recent visit, I wasn't really feeling the changes they've implemented. First off, pros: -Have a parking lot available off to the side and there's plenty of residential parking to -Lots and lots of clothing available for all ages -Pretty easy to spot which section you want to go to Cons: -On my recent visit here, there was a box of brita refills for $15. I got a pack of 3 before here for $4 so that price jump was crazy to see -Looks like they have downsized a bit, closed off the back room where all the electronics used to be Overall, it's okay. It's thrifting after all and I'll probably still come back, but some of the prices definitely shocked me. read more

Mixed feelings on this place. I've been to plenty a thrift shop so I have a lot of points of comparison. Pros: Some great finds in the kids section but things go fast. We came on a Friday and I found a pile of awesome finds for a couple bucks each. Came on a Sunday before that and the place was pretty barebones in terms of acceptable finds. Apparently a very good selection of dress shirts for very reasonable price. We came twice here and my husband walked out both times with an armload of nearly new, great condition shirts. Book section ain't bad. Cons: Dusty as hell. I came once while recovering from a cold and thought I was gonna pass out from the coughing fits. Bring your inhaler, lol. Grumpy staff, but I don't blame them. Dressing rooms had piles of clothing in them, unkept -- nobody came by to clean up until we asked for some to get cleared out so there was a place to stand. read more

SHOP MANAGER STOLE OUR CLOTHES WHILE WE WERE TRYING ANOTHER CLOTHES We visited the shop to by some Halloween related stuff. Myself and my daughter took off our clothes (quite expensive new jackets) and put on the our scooter in order to try other clothes. Shop manager, old Asian lady stole both of the jackets. Of course she denied for sometime that she did it. So I CALLED THE POLICE and BY THE TIME POLICE CAME that inadequate old asian lady returned the daughter's jacket WITHOUT EVEN ASKING about the size or color. WHEN THE POLICE CAME they forced her to look for my jacket so that she did but could not find as she has hidden it good enough. Why is it so empty now when you walk in? Seriously the center of the store has enough open space for a square dance.. I'm guessing that only a portion of what's donated out back makes it to the floor and anything of any value is sent to their auction website. Like most Goodwills prices are ridiculously high on most things so do your research. They had a Vornado VFAN Mini Classic Personal Fan in the box for $39.99 - the EXACT same price that Amazon's selling it for. Of course you do get the bonus of no warranty and no return.
