Instead of using the **manufacturer-provided mounting bracket, screws, and hardware**, the installer **attached the soundbar using Velcro and duct tape.** That's right--on an expensive home theater system, he chose Velcro and duct tape over the hardware specifically engineered by the manufacturer. I also specifically purchased **in-wall rated cables** because I wanted all of the wiring professionally routed behind the wall. I made this clear before the installation. Instead, the installer **used Velcro and duct tape to secure every cable to the back of my TV**, leaving a sloppy mess and completely ignoring my request. The entire reason I spent extra money on in-wall rated cables was wasted. What made the experience even more frustrating was what happened when I asked about the mounting hardware. When I asked where the screws and mounting bracket supplied by the manufacturer were, the installer told me **he didn't know** and acted as if they weren't available. After I continued questioning him, he later **returned to my house and left the original mounting bracket and hardware at my front door.** That confirmed he had the correct hardware all along but simply chose not to use it, opting instead for Velcro and duct tape. As bad as the workmanship was, the installer's attitude made the experience even worse. Throughout the installation, he spent more time making **condescending remarks about everything going on around him** than focusing on the job he was hired to do. Instead of working professionally, he constantly criticized things unrelated to the installation. Even more disappointing was the way he spoke to and treated his helper. Watching someone repeatedly talk down to a coworker while delivering substandard work made for a very uncomfortable experience. The workmanship was careless from start to finish. Using tape and Velcro in place of the manufacturer's mounting system, ignoring clear installation instructions, failing to run in-wall rated cables behind the wall, and then misleading me about the location of the mounting hardware is simply unacceptable. I paid for a professional installation and instead received something that looked like a rushed DIY project. Now I have to pay another installer to remove everything and reinstall it correctly using the hardware that should have been used from the beginning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Good Guys Installs to anyone. If you expect quality workmanship, attention to detail, honesty, and professionalism, look elsewhere. Update: 10.14.21 Since original review, Dick has said he would come out to the apt and fix the situation. He came to the apt unannounced never said he was on the way and nobody was home. He has made zero effort to reach out or rectify the situation. I found another company thoeugh Angie list Surreal Sound out of Boca Raton. Amazing people, also they never had to take the tv down either. Dick was never telling the truth and lied in my house cause he's a Dick. His review is now 1 star for lying to me, not doing his job. He lied about cost to come to my house and then never fixed anything. Gabriel at Surreal Sound even said it was a Surreal story. You didn't even have to take the tv down to install the soundbar. Dick you were rude in my house, you made it uncomfortable. I'm unsatisfied with your work and business. I would not recommend or use you again. Surreal Sound all day. read more

Customer service skills are non existent. My goals for service and deliverables were not even close. The issue was no consultation before appointment but made worse during attempted install when they were impatient and not interested in what I wanted. I payed $299 for them to hook new tv up to boxes; no wall mount. Non professional unfortunately!! read more

Called this morning to get a quote for someone to hang my tv. Phone answered by "Rich" who was so annoyed to apparently even have to answer the phone. Was super rude and said "did I put your tv up or something??" And I explained no I'm calling for the first time to get a quote. He says it's $299 for first tv and $149 for any other TVs. I call back a minute later and explain there was a special my husband saw on the website that was $149 to mount a tv. He says "that's for a 45"...is that what you have??" And I said no it's not but the website doesn't specify...and I said thanks anyway. And he hung up on me. What a jerk - stay away! They are just putting fake specials on their site to get you to call in and the real price is way higher and ZERO sense of customer service. I can't imagine using these people and having something actually go wrong or needs to be fixed - you'd be up a creek. read more

I used Good Guys to hang (2) 85" TVs and a 75"TV. All these units had sound bars and brackets. They were very professional ! They did the job without any hassle and no issues I found them to be very HONEST. I will be utilizing their services again very soon. THANK YOU Julie L. read more

Watch out! I asked Rich to hide wires in the wall in another room. He did one and taped the wires in another room without telling me he did not go through the wall until the wires fell down from being taped to the back of the TV. Charged me $100 for entering the room! Each! Took about 15 minutes! My fault. He told me it was $100 per room. But, there was no disclosure he didn't go through the wall because he said there was something in the wall which made it impossible. To his credit he did come back and replace the tape he used to tape the wires to the back of the TV with plastic strips. Then the add ons to the wall mount charge of $300 came to another $375 And I supplied the wall mount from a major brand which he said was not good. It is good i learned from another installer. Ask specific questions as to what I have said. Actually, I have learned it is better to get an hourly rate and charge for material. The fair value of what I received was actually around $500 at the most not $875! read more

They mounted 2 TVs for me and one was more trouble than the other, since it was a very old one with a very old and heavy mount. Both were installed with care and precision with no complaints from them at all. They are licensed and insured. I am very pleased with them. read more

Rich was extremely rude and condescending. He refused to hold up the TV so I could decide where I wanted it hung on the wall. My response was, if you refuse to hold up TV's, how do you get them mounted to the wall? The TV is not heavy. He and his helper could have easily held it up to the wall for 30 seconds so I could see where I wanted it. I can pick the TV up by myself and I'm a 5' woman. He also refused to calculate taxes, saying he always rounds up. When I asked him to calculate the actual taxes, he told me to pay whatever I want. Lol. read more
