Where do I start? Well, how about I start with these bandits are a total rip-off. I contacted them to ship a guitar to Ohio. The quote that I received was high, but it still came in slightly lower than other quotes, so I went with Goodman. However, when I received the invoice it was nearly $300 more than the quote. As someone who ships guitars world-wide I can attest that $900 to ship a guitar from California to Ohio is OUTRAGEOUS!! But, since they had my guitar I was screwed and I had to pay it. Secondly, but just as important, I asked if they had experience shipping guitars. The response was, "we shipped one of Elvis Presley's guitars", which was more bragging than a confirmation. The reality is that they have no clue as to how to properly ship a guitar. I repeatedly requested them to be sure that the strings are loosened and that they add extra padding inside the case, especially around the headstock which can easily snap in transit when not properly prepped for shipping. They told me "no problem, we will do all of that". They did none of this! How this guitar arrived without a broken headstock is nothing short of remarkable. So, the bottom line is that these guys talk a good line to earn your business and then completely screw you over. read more

I have been shipping with Goodman for almost a year now. I am an artist and I ship out fragile, oversized paintings often. Jessie, the manager is truly the best (although the whole staff is excellent) and I have no idea what I did before him. He and his staff are all incredible and so detail oriented. They package my art so safely and beautifully and with such kindness and care. Everything always arrives when they say it will, and if any glitches come up, Jessie is on the phone with the carrier and things are handled before I have a chance to worry. UPDATE - 2/2/26 I wanted to update because ownership has reached out to discuss this. THIS is how responsible businesses respond to clients. The new labeling system I complained about is in a trial period. The numerous complains I had about it were mentioned by other clients, and ownership has acknowledged the issues. They are as disappointed with the product as we are and are looking at solutions. I will restore the missing star because this is how you deal with issues. I've been a very long-time client - over 20 years - ever since they were Box Brothers, and were located at what is now Jeni's Ice Cream. I've consistently given them 5 stars - for attention, politeness, and always service with a smile. David Goodman kept his businesses running smoothly, always improving things. He was almost always at the Los Feliz location, up to the very end. A recent change in their package notification system has me writing this review. I removes any form of verification from the customer; there's no way to audit that we are in fact getting the packages we're signing for. I tried to pay them to post and mail a letter and they said they couldn't do it without taking my phone number. Huh?!?! It's a letter, dude! I even asked if they could enter all 0's as a place holder, and they refused. Assuming they want data they can sell. No thanks! Took my business elsewhere. We normally use UPS for our shipping needs, but since they were closed on Valentines Day, we found this place. Lou was very helpful in explaining stuff that we didn't understand. He was very patient and quite cheerful on this very busy day. My daughter needed to purchase a box which cost $3.86 and since she was shipping something to Northern CA kind of late, the total cost was $13.08!! There's a small free parking lot behind the shop and plenty of street parking. Social distancing supposed to be in place, but the other customers don't seem to know how far 6 feet apart is.
