Quite possibly the most wholesome post office I've been to since living in LA. You see, in my area, the only few locations closest are an anxiety fiesta. The nearest one from me is by The Bloc and it's interesting to me that for months they've only accepted cash. No need to complain anymore about their ways but it made me appreciate this one very much. Like they say, you can't have a rainbow without a little rain. We specifically drove out of our way to drop packages off here because distrust of our main locations. It was a far drive but thankfully we had errands nearby. The location has convenient parking and the staff was very friendly (for a change of what I'm used to downtown). It made me miss the post offices back in the day when I lived in the burbs. I appreciated the old school vintage relics they had on display; all Priority flat rate boxes were available. Although very small inside, I didn't feel like an employee was going to sneeze on me or that my package would go missing. read more

There was a person that had been waiting to pick up a piece of mail for a half hour and when she told the lady she had been buzzing the door and no one has come she just got the cold shoulder with no help. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience at the Atwater Post Office. I went in simply to purchase a money order and needed to split the payment--$500 on my debit card and the remainder in cash. This should not have been an issue. However, the clerk told me I could not tap my debit card and that I needed the physical card. When I explained that I paid for a money order the exact same way last month at this same location, she dismissively said, "It's new." That makes absolutely no sense. If this is truly a "new" policy, it's clearly not being communicated consistently or professionally. It completely defeats the purpose of having a debit card stored securely on my phone if I'm suddenly not allowed to use it--especially when I wasn't attempting anything unsafe or unusual. I wasn't bypassing a PIN or doing anything improper. The lack of consistency, poor explanation, and unhelpful attitude made a simple transaction unnecessarily stressful. Disappointed with the customer service at this location. I entered the building three minutes before closing to finish writing an address in the mail room. When I turned to enter the main area to ship the item, an employee locked the door in front of me--despite having seen me enter before 5:00. When I knocked and said, "You saw me come in before 5," I was told, "You should have been in this room. We close at 5," after which the lights were turned off. I then watched other employees laugh, which was a particularly professional touch. I understand closing time policies. What I don't understand is being treated rudely when I was already inside the building and attempting to complete a transaction in good faith. After a long workday, this interaction felt dismissive and unnecessary. I'll be returning to speak with the manager, as basic courtesy shouldn't end the moment the clock hits 5:00. read more

Mrs. Kong is amazing BUT Connie is horrible. Real power trip she's on. I arrived today around 2:30, huge line and Connie was flirting with some guy at her window for about 10 mins. They were small talking etc. After 10 mins she checked him out and he paid and left. She was not happy I was standing close by her window and she said "I needed to step back." I did so then she said "I needed to step by all the way behind the counter." After she was done flirty she called next so I went up to her window and she said I had to change out boxes bc she wouldn't accept the white ups one I boxes up. So she made me get out of line and re-box my package. I got back in line and unfortunately got her again. I approach her window and she said do your packages have to and from on them so I said this one does so if you can start with that one and I'll write the from on the other package and she said no. She made me get out of line again and told me not to come back to her window. I get out of line again, write the from address on my package and get back in line. She proceeded to tell me where to stand again in the line. I just ignored her power trip. Finally I hit the jackpot and got Mrs. Kong- I love her. She's always so nice, helpful and sweet. I paid and before I left I made sure I got the postal workers name who was on a power trip, flirting during work hours and holding up the long line and was enjoying making me suffer by telling where to stand and to continually get out of line. Her name is Connie. Connie you're horrible and should not work in any service job. I hope your manager reads this. read more

Big positive difference in service, courtesy, and helpfulness here compared to other USPS offices. I had a PO Box here for deliveries and they were always helpful and quick. With the exception of Kong who is so nice and helpful this post office is bad energy. It needs a limpia for real! Employees are rude and disrespectful to customers for no reason at all. When you say "Good morning" they roll their eyes and say "What do you want?" These USPS employees (except Kong) clearly hate themselves and hate their lives and will try to take it out on you. I'm sure in every post office there will always be mixed reviews as one cannot make everyone happy. However, I've had my po box here for what seems like 2 decades and yes there were rough moments with a few employees, but for the most part it's been a great experience with how customer service is being handled here. All the staff seems quite familiar with me now and one would never have to wait to long to be helped unless there's a customer who's transaction is difficult cause a delay on serving the rest of the customers which isn't the staff's fault obviously. My go to post office on my way to work which makes this place very convenient. You can drive onto their small parking lot and drop your mail into the mailbox without getting out of your car. Very easy. Been inside once to purchase stamps. Customer service was fine. Not a very big post office. Is there a way to give zero stars? We signed up for an appointment at 12:15 and when we arrived, we were told by the noon appointment ahead of us that the passport worker was gone for lunch. Not only did AJ (the passport worker) leave for lunch while she had appointments, when she got back around 12:50, she took the photos of the noon appointment, then took the application from the noon appointment and then disappeared to the back for FOURTY-FIVE minutes without any communication other than something vague (machine isn't working). By 2, the noon appointment customers had to leave because they had a 2:30 appointment. AJ then announces for everyone to leave and reschedule their passport appointment (despite the post office being open until 3). It turns out it was the photo machine that wasn't working and there was no reason for her to say that if you already had your photos. We insisted that she take our application (since we already had our photos) and she clearly didn't want to do it. In the end, we ended up being helped by the very lovely Love (aptly named) who took 10 minutes and processed our application. read more

I just stopped by to get some stamps I had to wait in line because the machine isn't working. I walked up to the counter and one of the workers gave me attitude for approaching them. I assumed they would attend to me next since they had been actively attending everyone in line. I'm very patient and passive so I didn't give attitude back I just had to wait like three extra minutes for them to finish their conversation. I live in Los Feliz but will drive out of my way to go to this post office. Ms. Kong and Twanna are lovely (and I know there are other staffers who are great, too; their names escape me at the moment). They recently helped me with renewing my passport and were incredibly kind, patient (I didn't know what the heck I was doing), and good-humored. For those who complain about the parking- if you go into the neighborhood around the bend, there is plenty available for you to mail your packages if the lot is full. I did go to this post office at Griffith and I'm not surprised that some of the bad reviews they mention the name ANNETTE, ASHLEY* and CARMEN. She wouldn't deliver my mail because of my dogs even though my dogs are rarely out in the front yard. So I end up putting a new one that is closer to the sidewalk but on top of my fence. A few years later "CARMEN" complaint again that my mailbox is too high so I comply with their request by removing it out. I thought that she will continue to deliver to my original box but they wouldn't till I fix the problem. So went to the office to get my mail cause it was not being delivered. I was shocked that they refuse to give my mail to me. I try to talk to her supervisor and manager but both are NOT helpful, I can't describe the way they talk, the tone of their voice and the way they act... like they're very smart people and I don't know anything that I should listen to them. Sound very fair, isn't it? So I ask her if she can deliver other mail around my neighborhood which most of us has the same landscape and has same gate & stair, and why she can't walk to my stair open the gate and drop my mail to my mailbox?!!! Their excuse is laughable "out of route or line of service". I can't remember which one cause I was so pissed. I think she is LAZY and doesn't want to do any effort to do her job. I have asked other courier and he said he's not surprised coming from Carmen. Same with her manager& supervisor, they're taking side without doing any investigation. So I file a formal complaint with USPS and they're being investigated. I wish they can be more educated. One of the best experiences I've ever had at a US post office! I called beforehand in regard to renewing my passport to ask for their hours and required documents and things to bring. I came at around 9:30 AM, and there were a couple of people coming in and out, but no line for the windows. I was immediately assisted by Rey, and he was friendly and very efficient. He helped me get all my paperwork ready, and I could tell that he was experienced with the passport process. Sadly, I was actually missing a few items, but he was able to help me retrieve them so that I didn't have to drive all the way back home and back! He even made me a copy of one of my licenses "just in case you need it in the mean time" (because you have to send the originals with the passport). He is was very thorough, and made sure my package was set up as safe as possible (by applying clear packaging tape on top of the "TO" and "FROM" addresses in case it got wet!!!). Rey is so good at his job and such a pleasure to work with, especially in the early hours of the day. I've been to many USPS offices, but he truly made my experience at this USPS positive and you can see that he cares about customer service and the quality of his services. read more

This post office has a pretty small, historic looking lobby and mailbox area. When I popped in there was a long line, but they were well-staffed, and the line moved really quickly. The man who helped me was friendly and efficient, and the package I mailed out arrived safely across the country a day earlier than expected! No complaints here! read more

I feel deceived with the insurance option because I always paid for a service (priority mail) with insurance to make sure that if you guys lose my package, at least I will get my money back. Now you are telling me that my claim has been denied because insufficient address (by the way, the usps employee of this location verified the address for me) but I never got my package back, so now I don't trust your service anymore. I asked for a supervisor to explain the situation and the customer service representative on the phone denied my request. I'm starting to think that your insurance is a fraud, just another way to take money from your customers, there's multiple victims of yours in the internet and they all think the same, usps package insurance is a scam. read more

I have endless years of frustration with my mail carrier Carmen, #447. She is rude and passive aggressive, always stuffing my mailbox with coupon fliers NOT ADDRESSED TO ME. The result is my wanted mail is deliverd torn and mangled. I also recently had Bank of America new debit card never arrive and fraudulently used at numerous local businesses. I am trying to get my passport renewed and it's a nightmare everyone is booked months in advance.. But this post office is so cool they let 7 random people in per day for their passport.. Be an early bird though the line has actually started at 5am one day... I say bring a chair and book and chill out.. These guys are really great people and super friendly. I don't usually make reviews for post office's but this one was a big surprise.. Smile pretty they will take your picture too.. And don't forget your birth certificate! Customer service person was annoyed and rude to people. Extremely inappropriate rules she came up on her own. After she helped a person I went up to her window and told me that I have to wait in line to be called. I walked back to the line, while people had their eyes wide open in shock of her rude attitude. Mind you... her window was no more than five feet from the line. Then while I was still walking back to the line (3 steps away from her window) she called out "next customer in line". She basically could have told me to wait for a second while she finished right by the window instead of making me walk back and embarrassing a customer in front of all other customers. Finally stopped by here today to send out mail for overnight shipping (this location being 2 min away from me). Customer service was surprisingly very friendly and chill, unlike most post office locations I've been to. Staff seem relaxed and relatively happy to be working there. I asked a bunch of questions since overnight shipping wouldn't arrive until Tuesday anyways (tomorrow being Sunday, Monday being holiday/colombus day) and the guy gave me a ton of options (priority shipping for $7 and expected to arrive on Tuesday, but not guaranteed etc). I still went with overnight shipping which is guaranteed to arrive Tues for $20. AC was on point for a 99 degree hot LA day. Oh and... NO LINE on a Saturday 11am?! Amazing. Today I had experience RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION by ROBERT and CARLISA, active manager. First time making passport, so even though I made a appointment, I was n the line too. My appointment time was 2:30pm today and it 2:30pm and it was my turn but Robert totally ignore me and make me wait outside, instead helping me he starting to helping other person come after me so I was talking to other worker, I have been waiting but she told me to talk to him so I told Robert that I have been waiting for my appointment, but he said it is only pass 6 min either wait outside or he told me that "Do you want me to refuse service?" which I feel he is trying to threaten me. I try to talk with Manager but everyone (Jose, supervisor, Carlisa) told me there is no Manager available. I spoke with Carlisa because she said she is active manger at that moment? but she treat me like I am not speaking English, and she keeps told me I hear wrong when Robert try to refuse service which I feel racism. read more

I have been awaiting a delivery from Amazon being handled through the postal service. According to tracking, 3 attempts have been made stating that front door or driveway was not accessible. My house does not have a fence or gate to enter. Perhaps the delivery person just doesn't want to get off the vehicle. So for the last 2 weeks I've been waiting for this item. I have received everything else but items through USPS have been hit & miss. I want to believe that the USPS isn't a crap government organization, but most of my experiences prove otherwise. The people at this particular one are incompetent and beyond checked out. Kong is the best! Mailed a Valentine's Day package to my girl in NYC and Kong's cool head and professionalism made it a breeze. From assembling the priority box (tricky! So many tabs!) to colouring in a hand drawn heart with her pink highlighter, Kong demonstrated genuine customer care and dare I say creativity. She really went the extra mile! I will never go to another post office again. And if anyone else at this location even tries to serve me, I will loudly declare: NO THANK YOU! I'M WITH KONG! There are PO boxes are insane dirty. I saw today the person who sneezed and cough at it very hard. I got scared and ran out bc maybe he has TB. I don't remember if I closed my PO box. I guess a PO boxes are never wiped. Look at the entrance door. The doorhandle is covered by black fingers prints from dinosaurs era. It's public place, its full of dangerous germs place and should have good cleaning every day. read more
