I went to look for an 60qt stockpot and insert to do a seafood broil. The lady was helpful but the man was rude. He was $50 over Amz and was arguing that I would have to pay shipping. Not with Prime. He claims that his is commercial and that Amz one was not. It's the same brand. When it came to the burner stand, he wasn't sure if his came with a hose. He said he can open it but he won't open it unless I'm buying it. Why would I buy it if it doesn't have a hose? As I was outside texting my wife, he turned on his blower to blow the dust and leaves off the concrete while I was standing there. That was a bit rude. I just thought I would let you know. I'm trying to support this business but that behavior was wild. Go to Dong Vinh instead. Night and day difference with customer service. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant supply warehouse and unfortunately cannot recommend it. I walked in with my 10-month-old baby, who was fast asleep in a stroller. I was there with the full intention of purchasing supplies for my partner, who is a chef and works closely with many other chefs and cooks who regularly need restaurant inventory. In other words, I wasn't just casually browsing -- I came prepared to spend money and potentially bring repeat business. Before I even had the chance to properly look around, the male owner abruptly told me not to let my child touch anything. My baby was asleep the entire time. Not walking. Not grabbing. Not "running loose." Simply sleeping in a stroller. The comment was completely unnecessary and delivered in a tone that felt rude and unwelcoming. I fully understand that businesses need to protect their merchandise. That's reasonable. But there is a professional and respectful way to communicate that to customers. Instead, I was made to feel judged and unwelcome the moment I stepped inside. Customer service matters -- especially in a niche industry that relies heavily on relationships, repeat customers, and word of mouth within the chef community. Making a customer feel disrespected over a sleeping baby is not a good look. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this warehouse to others looking for a professional and welcoming place to do business. read more

This place is not for me. I walked up and guy basically didn't want to let me in. Came across very rude. They have plenty of items but NOTHING has a price. If you want a price you have to goto the front and have them check it. When I asked why I was told " everything is computerized these days you know". Ummmm no I don't know. That was it for me. Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2014 I stopped by Goodware Restaurant Supply today with my family. I've seen it many times as we headed to the Costco Gas Station. We found parking easily and entered through the side door. You do not need to be a business/restaurant owner to shop here. It's open to the public. Upon entering the large warehouse you will note the cash register counter on the left hand side of the shop and the right hand side filled with everything under the sun that a restauranteur would need to open up an eatery. We were greeted with friendly smiles by the husband and wife team that own Goodware Restaurant Supply (they were helping ring someone up that was obviously a regular customer). After their regular customer left, they asked us if we needed any help. I told the wife that I was looking for 32 ounce and 16 ounce containers with lids that were BPA, freezer safe, microwave safe and could hold hot soups. Both husband and wife smiled and told me that they have that in stock and that I would have to purchase each by the case. Before I came to Goodware Restaurant Supply, I had already done my pricing of the items I wanted online. I asked how much it was per case and realized it was more than a fair price and decided on those two items. I asked if they had large plastic bins and other items and they were very helpful showing me where the items were which made my shopping trip fast. All of the items in the warehouse were clearly marked with prices that were clear and easy to read. Everything was extremely organized. I was very pleased with the fact that I received excellent customer service, the products I purchased were a good value and they accept debit/credit cards. I don't own a business but I came here primarily for the to go recyclable soup containers. Now, when I make soups or stews and want to share with family and friends I don't have to worry about having enough plastic food containers because I bought two large cases. They also have a great selection of recyclable and biodegradable to-go food containers which I will definitely buy on my next trip (I already have some at home). To-go containers are great for left-overs at parties for my guests. I look forward to shopping here again! I needed some booths for the restaurant I'm opening so I went in and the gentleman took my information down and said he would call me on Monday. I never heard back from him. I also agree with the other review that it is just bad business practice to not have any prices and make the customer bring everything they want prices on to the front of it's incredibly time consuming and a pretty big inconvenience you're putting on the customer. I was ready to buy 100 plates, 100 bowls, 100 glasses for water and sodas. Instead, I found another store that had price transparency and shopped there. It's a shame, because they seem to have a very wide selection of everything so I was very disappointed at how everything turned out. read more

After leaving many of them unsatisfied and empty handed, I was relieved to find that Goodware Restaurant Supply had what I was looking for. My experience here was excellent due to the variety of products, helpful customer service, and reasonable prices. When I first entered the store, I noticed that it was well-kept, clean, and had a friendly appeal. After a few moments of browsing the wide selection, a staff member offered his help to find all the items I was looking for. Although I am a pretty picker shopper, he was very patient with me and helped make my purchase quick and easy. They have all sorts of stuff and will sell to you even if you don't want to buy wholesale. If I could I would give them 0 stars very rude, the store is also very disorganized. I came in looking for some pastry rings and the guy said they carried a set and didn't offer to help at first after looking around for them for about 5 minutes I decided to walk out. Then the guy offered help and he took me back to where the pastry rings where they were mixed in with other items in a box. I said they are not the same as what I am looking for then he said "well that's all we have" , "what do you mean they aren't the same!?" Tone of voice is demeaning. Very unprofessional , I will not be coming back here. I don't recommend this store, unless you don't care about good customer service. read more

They have a large selection of restaurant supply items and they know what they have pretty well. The downside is that they have more stuff than they have space for, so it's pretty cluttered and packed in tight. Prices on similar items are higher than Dong Vinh, which is just a mile or two away. They do have some items Dong Vinh doesn't have. read more

Poor customer service and unprofessional both on the phone and in-person. Their warehouse is small. I rarely see any customers which is a telltale sign. I recently called in if they have a certain item in stock and the man on the phone was rude which he told me to inconveniently to come in because the computer was down. I do not have time to come in that is why I called, and he should have asked for my contact information to call back as soon as he gets the answer for me, yet he hung up on me. I like to go out of my way to patronize local businesses. I don't even mind paying a bit extra over what you might find in the national corporate stores. My experience with Goodware was horrible, however. They have a very restrictive return policy that is not printed on the receipt. They were rude and spiteful on top of insisting upon their 25% restocking fee after 10 days. I had planned on buying a couple dozen cocktail glasses when I returned some plates after 13 days, but because of their awful customer service I took my 75% refund and will not go back. read more

I came before to this place and looking for boxes for catering. I didn't placed the order since I am not ready. Today I came back to buy all the items needed. The guy spoke to us with aggressions in his tone and every questions asked he threw the prices at us. It's easy to get in the habit of going to restaurant depot every time as a food business owner I need something. But I was getting tired of making the trip all the way from Morgan Hill to the nearest restaurant depot, so I looked for other alternatives and found these folks online. Wow! Am O glad I went outside of my normal routine! The staff is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Their warehouse had every thing I was looking for and I was looking for some pretty obscure items. Newsflash! I just went for my second trip here... Unfortunately I arrived five minutes after their closing time, just what? Here's another difference between corporations and family run businesses... I called their phone number and lo and behold the owner answered I explained my situation that I was getting ready for markets tomorrow and their closing time by five minutes, he came right out and unlock the door and let me in an hour later I was ready for the farmers markets tomorrow! read more

They were fully stocked and were happy to help me find exactly what i needed. This store is stocked with refrigerators, spoons, forks, restaurant supply AND home equipment, Even more. Both times that I went into this place the store was empty and now I know why. The owner I presume (older asian guy) followed me around like a hawk on the first visit and was very unfriendly and not helpful when I asked questions about the products, so I decided to leave. I thought I would give them a second chance about a year later, as I was looking for an item that I could not find at a near by restraunt supply store. I went in a begain to look around when I saw a countertop fryer that I was interested in purchasing so I begain to move the machine and it's packaging around a little bit to get a better look, when the same guy as before, yelled out. "Cant you read the sign, it says no touching". I told him that I did not see the sign and said that I just wanted to take a picture so I can show my wife before I buy it. I then asked him if he could show me the equipment and handle it for me and he said no! in a very rude voice and said thats the same thing you said last time you were in here and you did not buy anything then either. I told him I aint buying anything with customer service skills like that and then I left the building! Iwont ever go back and I would never recommend this place to anyone. By chance, I found another place near by that has triple the equipment/supplies and has very good customer service skills to go with it! read more
