He turned what could have been an incredibly stressful experience into one that felt manageable. On top of that, he even gave us some fantastic local food recommendations while we were waiting! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE! I would give it NO STARS if I could! I broke down on the road going to Colorado Springs had my jeep towed to this shop. My vehicle was overheating long story short they changed just my thermostat and radiator cap and charged me $688.76.......they claimed I had no coolant when that is a lie I had it checked before I hit the road I always do and for that repair it is 2 bolts that need to come off pretty much... do not tell me that cost $688.76! They price gouged me because I was traveling and needed my vehicle to return home so they take advantage of that situation when people are traveling and have no other means. What a way to screw people out of there money and these guys give no F****! great customer service!! I made it home and still had the same issue took it to another auto repair shop and the thermostat housing looked like it was never changed and was so worn that it looked like my old one and it had a crack in it. read more

Consumer BEWARE*** I've used Goodway for a couple years now for light work and oil changes. It seemed that they always did a good job at a fair price but I always waited in the shop for my services and unfortunately, I ignored the red flags of hearing customers complain in person and over the phone. I know people tend to complain but it was Goodway's very rude response to these valid complaints and how everyone was very poorly treated when they would voice concern about a problem that wasn't addressed - Goodway or their reps never took any accountability and always pushed blame back on the customer. This spring of this year, I brought my vehicle in to get a tire swap - just a simple bolt on with 2 sets of rims and tires. I requested that the tires with the most tread (could be seen visually by the naked eye), be installed on the rear and other 2 on the front. When I got my car back, the tires with the least tread were installed on the front. I went in and asked them to swap them back around and one of their reps came outside with me and tried to convince me that they were all equal tread - absolutely not true and I insisted they do it correctly. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, my wife had her front windshield wiper fluid start to not operate properly and would leak beneath the car when the wiper fluid button was engaged. I guessed it was likely a leak in the line but she brought it in to Goodway - they charged her $200 to do a "diagnostic" on the vehicle and she asked it they were doing a diagnostic if they could check the brakes because their is a vibration when braking (likely rotors) and battery as well. When she got the vehicle back, they told her that both were "good," and that there was indeed a leak in the windshield fluid line so they cut it and reinstalled. A week later, the same exact problem was happening and when I went to look under the hood, the manifold that held the fluid lines was missing all the plastic car screws. She went back and asked them to fix it and they charged another $200. Lame. $400 for a windshield wiper line. We also had a trusted professional check her brake and battery - brakes were in extremely poor condition and needed to be replaced with rotors. These guys at Goodway are not only unprofessional and take advantage of people, bringing your car to them is unsafe. Consumer beware*** read more

While driving back to KC we hit some ice and spun out and wanted to make sure our car was safe to drive the long distance. Took almost 2 hours to get a diagnostic done just for them to say we needed an alignment. While I'm not as frustrated with the time it took, the mannerisms and customer service was terrible. The gentlemen at the desk couldn't even move his head to talk to me. No updates were given until I asked either. The shop did not seem that busy and plenty of mechanics were walking around and talking to each other. I'm no mechanic but almost two hours for you tell me I need an alignment is wild. After they tried to hit me with their hidden fees and diagnostic charge for a simple belt replacement I began to realize they don't care I'm a loyal customer that's been coming here for years. There's been a steady decline in the quality and service and it's a shame because they used to be a solid go to for local residents. Brad doesn't seem to be there anymore and the new guys are rude and condescending and I would be surprised if any of the employees are certified mechanics they seem to be the mechanically minded type that mean well but don't appear to have any formal training. I had a starting issue with my truck and took it in four times over a year for the same recurring problem but never complained and kept paying and even tipping the mechanics. The last time I picked it up the heater wasn't working and had been when I dropped it off and they refused to accept responsibility for it and said it would cost me close to 1500 to get fixed. That was the final straw for me, they should have done the right thing and fixed their mistake and have now lost another customer. Don't be fooled by their fake 5star reviews, they rely on unsuspecting tourists now because locals won't use them anymore. Not only did they have it ready before we expected, but Adam drove the few blocks to pick us up at our hotel and brought us back to pick up our car. Nice people and great service. BEWARE this shop!! I don't often write any kind of review, but I feel this one is warranted to help others avoid Goodway. While on vacation in the Silverthorne area our vehicle broke down on a Sunday (wouldn't start). AAA came out and tried to jump it, but to no avail. The driver recommended Goodway along with a couple of other area shops. On Monday I called Goodway along with another shop. Goodway said it would most likely be a couple days before they could look at it. The other shop was going to be longer than that, so I had AAA tow it to Goodway with the hope they would be able to get it fixed relatively soon. Since we were stranded away from home and had to be out of our condo by Friday morning, we waited until Tuesday to see if we heard anything. I called Goodway to see if they had any idea on what to expect. They really couldn't say because of all the other vehicles that were also waiting to be worked on, which was understandable. With the unknown of when our vehicle would be looked at and fixed, I decided to fly home (Omaha) and get another vehicle that would fit all of us and our luggage. So I flew home on Wednesday. When I landed, I had a message from Brad. I called him back and he said they found the fuel pump module bad and they had to start with that to identify if anything else was wrong. He quoted me $700.00 and the part would have to come out of Denver the next day. He did not know if they would get the part installed on Thursday. I did not question the price at that time, but as I write this review, I believe that price is highly inflated given what I have found on the internet. Given the uncertainty if our vehicle would be fixed by Friday morning, I continued with my plan to drive to Silverthorne on Thursday with the other vehicle. While I was still at home, I looked on the internet to see if a fuel pump module would cause the issue I was experiencing (no crank/no start). I came across an article that described my complaint to a tee that was being caused by a problem with the fuse box under the hood and the user was able to get it started by playing around with the fuses/fuse box. I wondered about this, but thought Goodway should have qualified techs and would have checked this out. On my way back to the condo with the second vehicle on Thursday, I stopped by Goodway's to pick up the grandkids' car seats and check on status. As I pulled the car seats out, I noticed my vehicle was in the exact same spot where it was dropped off on Monday by the AAA tow truck. I thought that odd since it would be difficult to check everything necessary outside and on the ground to make an accurate diagnosis of the problem. So without going inside to talk to Brad, I used my extra set of keys and tried to start the vehicle, confirming that it still would not turn over. I then popped the hood and played/pushed/pulled on some of the fuses and tried to start it again. Although it still didn't start, I heard a click, which is more than it did before. I played with the fuse box a little more and tried again, and it started! When confronting Brad, he said they often do their diagnosis outside since they just can't get the vehicles inside, especially if they aren't drivable. I informed him that I had the vehicle running and the fuel pump module clearly isn't the problem. He started to go down the path that maybe his tech replaced the module already without his knowledge, but I shot that down when I told him it would not start when I first tried, but did after playing with the fuse box. He was gracious enough to give me my keys and wave the diagnosis fee. Quite nice of him considering that I don't think any diagnosis was ever done. If it was, it was clearly the incorrect diagnosis. I hate to imagine what they would have done to me if I would not have shown up when I did. What other repairs would they have wanted after the fuel pump module did not fix it? If I could give zero stars on this review, I certainly would! read more

My power steering pump blew up in the middle of the night. My insurance only tows within a 20 mile radius so I ended up at this shop and it was the worst mistake I made. I bought the parts and took them to shop to be replaced. They charged me $600 because they knew I had no other options being that I do not live in Silverthorne. I stayed in a hotel overnight and I went the following day to pick up my car. They told me everything worked great and they left the key under the mat for me because it was the weekend and no one was there. I COULD NOT EVEN DRIVE OFF THE LOT. They lied, took my money and couldn't even answer a call. I took our 2014 Jeep wrangler to Goodway auto for an overheating issue. Come to find out we needed a new radiator. We approved the work to be done and was told that Jeeps will always have an issue. We took the Jeep to a dealer on the front range because of continued overheating problems. The Jeep service department informed us that Goodway Auto installed a radiator which was too small for the Jeep and the work performed by Goodway mechanics was laughable. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle down to a reputable mechanic out of this county. read more

I had been a long time customer with Goodway but I will never return. I kept having to jump my car to start. Went to Autozone who said it wasnt the battery so I went to Goodway. After waiting all day they said it was the battery. They charged me $600 for a new battery. They put in a $300 battery into a car that is 20 years old and probably has very little life yet. Between the diagnoastic fee, taxes, $312 for paarts!! and labor charges for $269 Ive been incredibly ripped off. I was given a wee discount -oh boy lucky me. For a battery I could have put in myself. When I said it was too much I got alot of grief on how they need to earn money too, they are short staffed there arent alot of shops to go to, whatever. By ripping people off thats how they operate. Dont go here. They are slow to respond to you with information and there are plenty of other mechanics in the stae. Would have been a whole lot less money to just drive to Denver. So I just looked at the battery. It doesnt look new, looks exactly like the old battery. I think all they did was clean off the terminals. He got our RV in for emergency brake pad and rotor work same day after the RV dealership sold us an 08 RV with completely shot brake pads and rotors. This was our first trip out of Denver and Camping World of Golden, who sold us the RV with shot brakes and rotors, completely screwed us over by putting our lives at risk on I-70. Thankfully, Goodway Auto Repair saved us and got us back on the road same day at a super reasonable price! The technicians worked overtime to make sure it got done. Brought my car in with what I thought was either a battery or alternator issue. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace the battery, including a diagnostics fee they said they could probably reduce "at the end." When I asked by how much they could reduce it, they said they wouldn't know until the end. I paid the outrageous diagnostics fee, took the car to an auto parts shop down the street and paid $169 for a battery that an employee installed for free. I'm female and had three other women with me; we were in a hurry to get back to Denver. Sadly, I suspect Goodway wagered I was desperate, ignorant and would pay their exorbitant fee. Shops like these are why women justifiably don't trust mechanics. read more

I had my tires and oil changed at Goodway yesterday and did not have a great experience (although I have in the past!). I was told on the phone that they were first come, first served, so I arrived at 8:30am (thirty minutes before they opened) and was the first person to at the window. When I hadn't received a call about my car by 3:30pm, I called to see whether it was ready and was told that they just needed to finish the oil change and would call me when that was done. When I hadn't received a call back at 5pm, I went ahead and showed up to pick up my car. I then had to wait another HOUR AT THE SHOP -- half an hour before my car was even driven onto the blocks to drain the oil and then ANOTHER half an hour before they finished my oil change -- all while I was there waiting for my car! I'm not a mechanic, but I'm under the impression that a tire and oil change shouldn't take NINE HOURS (how long they had my car) and that if someone is actively waiting for their car at the shop for a quick fix, then shouldn't that be the shop's priority to finish? The icing on the cake was that when I got into my car (which had been detailed last week) -- THERE WERE OIL PRINTS ON MY TAN CLOTH SEATS (see pictured). I also watched multiple men drive my car without masks on. The folks working at this shop are nice and I could see that they were busy (during the hour I had to wait), so I'll give them some credit, but next time I'll just have my tires changed at Utopia. read more

The first time I came here everything went smooth and I enjoyed the service. Recently my car wouldn't start so I had to towed to Goodway and the experience was awful. Their labor is more expensive than other competitors in the area and they charged me for $200 for SPARK PLUGS!! I can't imagine it takes a professional mechanic a full hour to replace spark plugs but it would make sense for this shop. After everything was said and done I got in my car that was allegedly test driven for 10 miles but the moment it left the parking lot and shifted to second gear the check engine light turned right back on. 2 days after I took my car to them for emergency coolant system repair the engine blew from the failure of the repair job they performed. I had a coolant leak and they said it needed a new hose to the radiator and they charged me over $500 and had my car for many days with no clear communication on when it would be ready then when I picked it up the next day I noticed the coolant level low notice came back on so I called them immediately and was told not to worry about it that there may be "air in the system" - the next day my car had a catastrophic loss of fluids on the freeway and the engine blew. I had the car towed to them. Days passed with no response from them about the status, then after calling everyday to get a update and find out about a warranty on the service performed I finally was told that yes, everything was blown and there was no warranty on the work they had performed and they would not be honoring any service warranty on their work. At least they could have offered me a refund of my payment since my car I had babied and completed all maintenance on was toast! Do not take your Volvo here I do not think they knew what they were doing actually! This was a massive life disruption for me as I was traveling from Washington to Colorado to visit family and due to this I had to spend two months in Colorado stranded at my families home till I could earn enough money for a new car. They could have at least refunded me my money after a botched repair job and they knew they were at fault and did not want to accept responsibility, I was so disappointed because I thought they would be trustworthy after reading the positive reviews, that is why I am leaving this one. They obviously were very busy, short on the phone and did not seem very organized every time I called and did not complete a after repair inspection to make sure the problem was fixed so this was clearly a failure of the mechanic to verify the coolant system was working properly. I am regretful I put my trust in this shop and it resulted in a massive inconvenience and major problems. I wish they would have offered me some kind of refund, they were rude to me after my car blew up and even threatened to charge me storage if I didn't get my car moved within days knowing I was traveling and stranded. read more

I was traveling home to Denver when I noticed smoke coming from my car. I started to wonder if I would destroy the engine if I continued driving. I called Goodway Auto Repair at 4:30 in the afternoon to see if they would take a look. They said they were busy, almost ready to go home, but, okay, come on by. Two technicians inspected my car and told me that transmission fluid was leaking on the exhaust pipe. They recommended completing my driving that day and then taking the car to a transmission shop. I went in to get rear brakes checked. I asked about how long of a wait & the manager refused to guess. he said its policy not to tell. I should have left, because he knows goodway is busy so he should know that's true of all of us. common courtesy. (is he that important?) I asked for a price estimate & he smarted off. (unnecessary). he stated that the estimate was free. his estimate was $800 so I said I'd come back. he said I could not have my truck back till I gave him 150.00. so that was his first lie. I made some calls & told him I'd pay the 150.00, he then said it was too late. (2nd lie) so he held my truck hostage. when the parts came, they were wrong & they re-ordered. they test drove & ignored me when I tried to flag them down hoping I'd be in on the test drive, & get a ride back to the shop. the test failed and after 4 hours I got my truck. *I had to cancel my dentist appointment. there was one nice employee, but he didn't speak English & was afraid to respond to customers. his belligerence was totally uncalled for & the very worst I've ever seen. as I saw customers coming in & out, I saw that they were making an effort to be very nice so as not to make him angry. his system was to be rude to intimidate people in case they had a complaint or request. there is NO excuse for a business treating you with indignity.
