I was heading home from a fishing trip to Basalt, CO to Golden, CO this evening, when my dashboard indicated low tire pressure warning. I discovered that my left/rear tire was VERY low, so I pumped it up with my DeWalt jump starter/pump while I checked Apple Maps for a local tire repair shop near me (Frisco, CO). The first "hit" was Big O Tire in Frisco, so I called them and told them I had a tire going flat, and needed a quick repair. It was 4:40 pm, and their response was, "We close at 5:00 pm, so we don't have time to help you out". Gee...thanks for nothing! I went back to Apple Maps and the second "hit" was Utopia Tire and Auto Repair. I called them and told them my situation. Jessica checked with her team and came back and said, "Bring it in and we'll do our best to help you". I limped to their shop, they threw my van into their bay, pulled the tire off, patched the hole, and sent me safely/happily on my way home in 15 minutes, as they locked the doors and closed up shop at 5:02 pm. AMAZING customer service, and even more importantly -- so very awesome that they took my issue on at the "last minute" and made sure that I got it fixed and sent me down the road to make it home, even if they had to do so at the very end of their workday. Thought it would be a reputable shop ended up being wrong. Came in for an oil change on a 2026 truck ended up leaving with damage on my driver door and removing paint. Owner Ray tried giving some excuse about the pillars from their lift and the angle of my door when it's clearly a tool scratch mark that goes from top to bottom "about the size of a t20" as the shop manager stated in his video to the owner. It has nothing to do with a door being swung open. Instead of owning up the owner is refusing to fix it, would highly recommended NOT going here. If damage does happen owner will try to stick you with it and look for any excuse to not fix it. Will not be coming back and will be letting everyone I know about this experience. read more

I had set an appointment to bring in my car to swap out my snow tires to a different set of rims. Over the phone, I mentioned the fact that I needed to make sure that I only have non-smokers in my vehicle because I'm extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke. Even the lingering smoke odor from an employee who takes a smoke break or who smoked before a shift can trigger a reaction. An allergic reaction leaves me susceptible to Covid infections and other respiratory issues. The woman on the phone kind of snapped at me and said that "nobody is going to smoke in your car!" Acting like I was an idiot for even asking. I told her that I understand that, and explained that I'm allergic to smoke, even from someone's clothing. I was thankful they had an appointment available, so I told her I would bring the vehicle in that day. When I got there, I saw the woman with whom I had been on the phone with, and said that I was checking in. I again stressed (nicely) that I needed to make sure that there was nobody in my vehicle who was a smoker. I don't remember exactly what she said, but the conversation evolved into "it's a shop and they're going to smell like a shop and there's nothing you can do about that." I told her I understood that, but that my main concern was about smokers being in my car. She again said something about that the guys smelled like a shop. My brother was a mechanic, so I understand this, and again told her that my main concern was that someone would move my car or be in my car who is a smoker. The smell of a shop doesn't linger like cigarette smoke. After going back-and-forth several times, I finally told her that I would just go somewhere else. I then drove an hour and a half down to Denver to get it done at Discount Tire, because they've never had a problem with me asking about smokers in my vehicle. I also have a white interior on my Tesla, and had brought blankets to cover the seats to protect them. I know that mechanics are generally greasy and smell like oil or whatever, but again, I take precautions to protect the value of my car. (Actually, you could eat off the floor of a Tesla Service Center because they don't deal with all of the oil and nastiness of a traditional car repair facility...) I wish I had talked to the other girl that was at the front desk, and maybe she's nicer, but this older woman was really argumentative and rude. I'm guessing that she probably is a smoker or was a smoker and was offended by my request. Thankfully, Tesla comes to your home to swap out rims and I generally don't need a local business, but I won't ever set foot in Utopia again. read more

Yes, I read your response to my review. I was like being in your shop in person. Excuses, deflections and weak jabs. I have purchased new tires at Utopia, and swapped tires twice. Average wait was at least 6 hours. I guess that every time I visited, Utopia(and I) experienced one or two of those unfortunate circumstances Ray detailed in his response to my one star review. Ray was in the shop for at least two of my visits. Don't whine about a poor review with your sketchy performance record. Ray, or whoever responded to my review is just exercising frantic damage control. Poor Utopia Tire. Even a little competence and courtesy would have earned a considerably better review. Clown is as clown does. I already have new tires on my truck. Purchased at Walmart in Colo Spgs. Reasonable price, and an accurate 2 hour turnaround estimate. You want to rest on your laurels after being voted best shop in Summit County? Pretty easy when your only competition in Big O. It's like praising yourself for being the best restaurant in a county where your only competition is Arby's. Yep, I'm the unhinged troll who writes bad reviews for Utopia. I came in to Utopia about 2 weeks ago with a flat tire on my Turo rental car (I was in the area for vacation). The people who helped me at Utopia were not only understanding and helpful, but they also communicated clearly what was going on (my rental car had 2 dry rotted tires) and did their best to accomodate my needs. Once the new tires arrived the following day, they worked me into their schedule and I was in and out within an hour, which I greatly appreciated since I had no other transportation and had to stay in the lobby. On top of that, once I got home from my vacation, I called to see if there was any additional documentation I could get to help me explain my case to Turo, and Ray was kind enough to write me an email summarizing my predicament, which no doubt helped me get the refund from Turo that I was requesting. Last night my brakes were causing my car to shudder pretty badly heading west on 70 down the long steep grade to Frisco. It scared the crap out of me. This morning we called Utopia and talked to Tim. I went in for an alignment, i had a three o'clock appointment. I was told it would be roughly an hour, ended up taking a little nap. Recieved a text from there texting system at 3:57pm stating the mechanic would like to speak to me. I responded with i am in the lobby. No one came to speak to me, dozed off again until 5:12pm and not only did they NOT do my alignment but quoted me $2,957.31 in repairs...of course. I feel like was trying to be taken advantage of and wonder how many people actually fall for it. I have been a customer through 3 different owners and this is the first time I've been dissatisfied with the services and feel taken advantage of as a customer. I do not recommend going here anymore. I have been to Utopia twice since moving to the area last year. The first time I went for some shaking that I didn't like. They figured out quickly and with minimal cost, then also pointed out that my tires were not great for winter. I had recently put tires somewhere else, but they were not snow tires and I noticed they were very slippery. World of difference on the new tires! The second time I went to Utopia was to get in for a quick oil change before a long road trip. Do not go to Utopia in Frisco. They tore the beading on two of my tires. When I took the tires there, they were fine. I gave the owner time to get back to me and take responsibility, he did not take responsibility. Not only did I ask to see the video, which I was not given, they told me the tread on the tires was bad and I needed to buy new ones. Discount tires replaced them and the tread on the tires was fine! Hardly any miles on them. I knew not to go there but it seemed convenient. Years ago when I had my tires changed there I didn't look at the summer tires they changed out until the next season (they were in bags why would I) they gave me one wrong tire. I had to buy all new ones. Ford is awesome and so is discount tires in my opinion. When Jason owned the company it was good, not anymore. I was visiting Breckinridge from Denver, had the unfortunate experience of a blow out on my drivers side tire. The roadside repair tech Tom for Ryan's Roadside service highly recommended Utopia Tire for service. He said that's the only place he trusted in Summit County for tire service, that they were reliable and honest. I needed to get back to Denver as my friend I was traveling with forgot his medication so we needed to get back to Denver ASAP as he desperately needed his medication. I called and spoke with Tim the service manager and he said they work by appointment only and unless there was a cancellation they wouldn't be able to get me until Wednesday unless there was a cancellation or no show. he gave me great advice about driving back to Denver on my services tire if needed and valuable information about service repair at other facilities. He spent a lot time on the phone discussing my situation. He built an immense amount of trust just speaking with him. I was really nervous about driving that far on the service tire. I stopped by Utopia to see if by chance there was a no show. Jennifer at the front desk greeted me, I explained my situation and she smiled and said let me check with service guys, and came back moments later saying they could fit me in. That really put me at ease. Less than 30 minutes later they had me on the road again and charged me a very reasonable fee for the service they provided. Utopia - if you need tire service that is a very reliable, trustworthy and exceptional UTOPIA TIRE is the only place to go. Don't go here unless you like paying high prices and slow service imo. 2 hrs for an hour of normal work at any other shop which I've had the same job done elsewhere multiple times at various shops so I know. The manager was rude and not pleasant to the customer who pays the bills. Very argumentative. He had a foul breath when speaking too. They quote a price on the phone and the when got the bill it's higher making odd reasons imo why it's higher after the service was completed and without confirmation or coming to ask me if the increase is ok. The bathroom had not been cleaned to my standards. The lobby had very cheap uncomfortable furniture and hurt my back waiting there. Overall not the best place to service your vehicle in summit county imo but maybe you will have a better experience. read more
