The people who work here are very kind and that's what keeps me coming back. They are very sweet and humble. While I can't say this particular Goodwill has the most fashionable clothing items, they certainly have some good finds. Out of all the shops of this kind in the area, these folks have some real hidden gems. Alameda is always one of the best places to shop for second hand goods, as they have a lot of older and wealthy people who give away some good S***, and if you dedicate enough time to look through every area of this store then you could potentially leave with some great items. I've been here a few times and have bought everything from Razor brand scooters for my kids to Dr.Seuss ties and art for resale on Ebay. Also, this shop offers sales and promotions on a regular basis for a wide variety of items, one week it may be glassware and the next it may be men's pants, just stop by and check them out. read more

It's 2023 and their fitting rooms are still "closed due to covid". What's the point of shopping somewhere that doesn't allow returns and won't let you try anything on. It's not like they're "sUpEr cOviD sAfe" anyways considering you can walk in without wearing a mask. This location does NOT provide paper receipts. WARNING: GOODWILL SELLS YOUR TEL# IF YOU USE THE QR CODE TO GET YOUR RECEIPT BY TEXT MESSAGE AND THIS IS CURRENTLY THE ONLY OPTION AT THIS LOCATION. I did this once a couple of years ago, after having my telephone number for well over a decade with zero spam messages, and pretty much immediately my phone started blowing up with tons of spam text messages. I am still deleting/blocking random messages to this day. Other Goodwill locations (such as the one in Rodeo) will provide paper receipts. For this reason I'll never donate at this location again. The new store layout looks great! So much more fun to browse. And the aisles seem wider. The dishes are arranged by color, which makes it look more like a boutique. The employees are so pleasant. I drop off frequently. When they fill up, they close down the donation spot. I'm usually there by 11 and it's half way full.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I have donated several times to this location and each time have been yelled at by the male employee they have at the donation site. I had a car load today and about half way of me being done unloading, the same man came out and put up the donation closed sign. I kept unloading my car and one of the females was helping bring my donations in because he had hurriedly moved all the bins behind the gate. At the end, he ran out at me screaming in chinese. I honestly felt like he was going to attack me! I immediately called and spoke to a manager who was apologetic for HIS behavior but I will never donate to Goodwill again. I am a firm believer in donating and helping our fellow man but being abused for giving you my items is not acceptable. There are too many people in need and will start donating elsewhere. Wholly unacceptable! read more

Wow, they're very good at accusing donors of being thieves. I just went to drop off several boxes of household items and was basically accosted by the woman in the collection area. Not only were some children's toys refused with the unnecessary admonishment that they had to be packaged and not sold individually, other items were also snubbed -- not with a nice explanation of the reasons why they were being declined, but with a hostility I've never seen or experienced before while making a donation! The icing of the cake was when I saw a small something of interest that another person had dropped off. While waiting, I picked it up to check it out. Note that I am standing WITH MY STUFF and WITHIN the cordoned-off donation area. The woman "in charge" had a fit and told me to put it down and rambled about theft - honestly I don't remember her exact words, but the experience was shocking and so very out of the context of "donating/giving to Goodwill". So, as I tried to make my donations today, I was ordered about, yelled at, and accused of stealing. Wow. Just, wow. I will never return here, and possibly not to any Goodwill. There are just too many others that are both deserving and appreciative of these donations, especially around the holidays. Goodwill management, take heed. Your employees are out there making first impressions on your donors AND customers. They need lots of training in customer service. MAKE YOUR DONATIONS SOMEPLACE ELSE! read more

OMG? Who said this Goodwill had friendly staff? Hm, let me describe my experience and you tell me if they were the least bit friendly or not. Here I come strolling in with two garbage bags filled with clothing to donate. I was obviously feeling very generous and good about myself because I was finally emptying out that closet of mine. Also it felt good to donate to the needy. Now mind you, two garbage bag full of clothes is NOT light but anyway. I strolled up to the counter, which of course had no one behind it. I'm standing there, waiting patiently, all the while carrying these stupid donation bags. Finally one of the staff members approached me. "Hi," I said, "I'd like to put these in for donations". "Outside, by the gate," she merely muttered. "Um, okay thanks!" I responded, carrying the heavy ass bags with me out the door. I approach whoever was working the truck stock and repeated my first line. "You need to take those inside", the crewmember said to me. "Well, the lady inside asked me to give these to you, " I answered, getting rather impatient. I mean, did I mention that these bags were heavy?! "No, tell her you need these to go inside," he spat back at me, obviously annoyed. So I pick ed up the bags (yet again) and moved them back inside and approached the same girl. "The man outside asked me to bring these donations back in here", I told her impatiently. "Oh. Put it by the door." WOW. Amazing service, that Goodwill. I'm sorry, was I the one who asked them to work there? Cuz I'm not sure why I deserved the attitude, seeing as how I was quite pleasant when I first arrived. I didn't even get a freakin' donation receipt, aka tax write-off!! Never again will I come to this Goodwill. So. Friendly staff? Didn't think so! read more

This store has had a manager change about a year ago. At first the store seemed to do great, but unfortunately this store has not been doing very well with the changes this manager was trying. The store is now over crowded with items, the prices keep going up and the variety of nice items has declined dramatically. The employees are all nice, but they seem to be over worked. In the last 10 times os stopping by, I did not find a single thing. This store needs a new manager that is more laid back, organized and does not fill this tiny store to the brim. read more
