Rachel, the owner and her crew are so warm and friendly. You'll find them greet you when you enter and always happy to assist you, The Cottage Door continues to be an upscale consignment shop as they are selective. This being said, gently used vintage and modern clothing, shoes, jewelry, choctchkies, along with antique items too. Oh and furniture!!! Always beautiful furniture in this shop. Everything is clean and well organized, unlike many thrift stores I've been to. Prices and consignment pay out are both very fair. The store is lovely and so fun to meander through. One wont need to sift and sort through items which really makes the shopping experience a pleasure. You'll see items that you've never seen before and are so interesting! Well, I have to start this review by stating that I volunteer here once a week, and I really enjoy…read moreit. The shop is a non-profit and part of Asheville Community Yoga. So all the funds raised go towards supporting the yoga center. The manager has a flair for shop design and the store has a really nice flow, energy and lay out. There are a bunch of name brand items, and I've gotten some Columbia, Gottex, J Crew and Eddie Bauer for myself. I've also learned about some new brands by being here. Plus, the prices are outstanding with nothing going over $10 & most pieces within $3 to $5. In fact, the other day I was in here, and a woman was telling me that the shop felt so hip and cool that even her 14 year old (who doesn't like going to the Salvation Army or Goodwill) would be ok with shopping here. And it's totally a true comment. We even have free tea and coffee.

My kids were doing a bit of shopping and then ended up picking up a couple of items and I spent most of my time chatting with the one woman who worked there. They did enjoy some of the clothing but couldn't find items that they liked in their size but there were some really nice items in the counter that got their attention. They both checked out some really cool necklaces and we also looked at flasks and lighters. My youngest found a hat that they just loved and took a picture of the label on it with the idea that they would check it out online at a later date to see if they might buy one. Friendly employees who were very helpful and lots of good stuff. This one is definitely worth shopping in.
