Unbelievably everything was true! The prices here are great. I picked up a solid oak made in California American Mission end table for $18. Great group of people working here, all employees are volunteers and all of the proceeds stay in Tucson.

The graduates of the program are set up totally into personal housing with any and all donations welcomed to provide for these needs . I recently met with the children and family services coordinator who told me they take women and children and offer daycare to residents, in order to provide job training for interested women. Both men and women are offered services. On campus is an El rio health clinic so people could get health services. There's food available. There's places to sleep. There's an intake counter for people in need, look for the Welcome center building. The gospel rescue mission is always in need of volunteers to do various things. They have jewelry, and although we don't normally buy jewelry at thrifts, there were several items we liked. People and staff seem happy here, something not easily quantified or measured. The biggest downside is that there are no fitting rooms here, so you really just have to guess if something is going to fit. They do not do returns, but you can exchange clothes within 14 days with a receipt. The exchange process can take time if the store is busy though, as they need manager approval and the managers are limited. I will definitely be back to Savers for more thrifting soon!
