I try to get over to shop often, but sometimes it is a few months in between visits...the good part is there is always something different every time I go here. Everything is neat and clean. Everything is well organized. I especially love their book room...I never go here and come away empty handed. The prices are very reasonable, and the variety is unexpected. My friend and I were browsing near the register while a woman was checking out. We happened to notice they had a bin of undergarments for sale. We heard the older gentleman at the register ask the lady that was paying, very loudly, "I assume these underwear are for you?" Visibly uncomfortable, she quietly responded "...yes" while my friend said "you don't have to answer that!" This was our first visit to this store, so perhaps we were missing some context (I hope so), but this left a horrible first impression in our mouths and we will not be returning.

Great group of people working here, all employees are volunteers and all of the proceeds stay in Tucson.

The pricing varies, of course, within each vendor's booth, some more or less than others because each vendor has his/her own interesting collection displayed. I have spent time talking with the vendors and now know some by name. They are happy to meet us too. Forgot to mention .. woman owned. Going on too long here.. it's first on my list of places to go, it's cool inside, there is good parking, and if you have forgotten to do your grocery shopping, Whole Foods is near by. Midtown Mercantile Merchants is No. 1 on my list.

I would come here all the time if I lived close to really spend time looking around at all they have to offer because this place is huge. They even have a downstairs with more items! I didn't even notice the downstairs, but my guy did. I'm soo glad I checked it out because I found a beautiful vintage metal art piece that was perfect in my guest room! I have been looking for a main art piece to hang up for months and couldn't believe my luck!

Both female volunteers, who looked like they'd be more at home dressed in black and hunched over a bubbling cauldron, were rude without provocation to multiple customers while I was there. No one could ask the simplest of questions without getting a snide reply. Why volunteer in a position that requires you to interact with people when you obviously can't stand them? Management might let them get away with it since they aren't getting paid, but they are definitely costing the shelter/thrift store in terms of lost sales. I had found a few items I was planning on purchasing, but did not due to their ugly behavior, so that was $40 in sales that didn't happen.
