Stopped to donate a few things and figured I'd look around for hiking/Capri pants for our summer trips. Found a great pair of Chico, two pairs of Columbia & a Kirkland brand pant that looked great! They all looked brand new and would cost less than $40! My review would have been 5 stars if not for their changing rooms being permanently closed (and now used for storage) and their return policy. I specifically asked the guy at checkout about their return policy (since I couldn't try anything on) to which he said "its 7 days with a receipt" - so I bought all without thought. I was about to walk out the door and said "I'll return any that don't fit" and he said sure, refund is store credit only. What?! To that, I requested a full refund (not store credit!) and he suggested I use their bathroom to try the pants on and then see which ones I want to purchase again. Ended up with 2/4 for $13. Very happy with my purchase but that's a silly policy. The guy was understanding but I suggested he be more forthcoming with their policy to people who ask, like myself. Go here all the time and return consoles all the time, Tried to return an Xbox 360 was told I could go to the original store I bought it from and try because that store didn't put an "As is" sticker on it. I buy consoles from this location all the time and they never say "As is" and I can always return them no problem. No one is going to buy consoles if they can't return them and they know this. read more

Today I had a very insulting experience with the manager at the El Mirage location, the white girl, not the native lady. It was so obvious that she was in a bad mood. I wanted to return a few outfits, one of which had the price tag falling off because it was attached to the middle of the right leg and I had to remove it in order to try it on. I told about why I removed the tag and she said there's no way our employees would put it on that spot. I told her I wasn't lying and it was placed there. She refused to do the return and out of frustration I said I was going to post her nasty attitude with me on my FB page. She kicked me out of the store. I went to another location in Surprise and the manager there was so polite and helpful and did the return no problem. I am requesting an investigation and correction of behavior for that manager. Had to update my review because the people working today were so friendly and helpful. I was super excited to find a tall pair of Old Navy pants, as it's always hard to find jeans that are long enough as a taller woman! They're in great condition too. I can't wait to get home and try them on. Please consider opening dressing rooms again! read more

I am asking everyone please to tell them NO when they ask to round your money up. Goodwill managers act like they are the manager of a high end store. Firing people for not producing when they barely train you. Isn't that what the people's money is going to When they ask you to round up? It's a lot of bullshit saying we are not making enough when a pair of pants at the Goodwill costs the same as a pair of pants at a brand new store. Found things for everyone in the family! In my opinion, goodwill price and inventory are based on the area in which they are located in; a lot of the merchandise was tailored towards older customers and a higher price point. This Goodwill is pretty much the same as most others, and the merchandise reflects the area from whence the donations come. As this part of town is a bit economically depressed, don't expect to find overlooked treasures, but there still are some good values. Check items for wear and damage, and you can do alright. I've scored wine glasses, a backpack, and a couple of shirts. read more

All the Goodwills are overpriced now. Not exactly sure what happened but, whoever is pricing this crap needs to be fired. Sometimes you see a dollar store price tag with a Goodwill price tag that's at least twice the price! And don't be fooled people. This is not a charity organization. Let me just start off saying that I never expect anything much from any Goodwill, especially when they are the worst kind of capitalists. However, they will have an occasional good deal that I'll have to act on. For example, I bought a huge aquarium yesterday and it came with a stand, priced at $59.99 but, it was a 50% off day so SCORE! Anywho, the stand was very water damaged so, I had no need for it. So, I thought I would ask if I could get a bit off the price because I didn't want the stand and the manager gave a flat out and very snooty, no. A) no need to act like a snob, you work at GOODWILL, not Saks Fifth Avenue. B) Goodwill makes 100% profit from nothing but donations, they can afford to take a loss on a useless item no one, AND I MEAN NO ONE, will buy. The cashier at the front called for assistance for my item and I waited for about 5 minutes while several employees walked by, ignoring us. Also, when she was calling for assistance, there were two other employees standing at the front, doing literally nothing. So, I approached the same cashier, asking for help again. Finally, help arrived and I claimed my prize. On the plus side, this location did have the aquarium I needed for a lizard habitat and that is deserving of at least 2 stars. And the young man who brought the aquarium to me was very nice. read more

I am a regular Goodwill shopper and I love the experience of treasure hunting. I go to this one location because it's close to where I live. I had the worst experience ever with it's manager who seemed to be so very inexperienced and unprofessional. She is so snobby and every time I go there she makes sure to makes me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. She is young and has a big attitude problem. Even if you try to stop her to ask about anything about the store she doesn't take the time to talk to you and help you out. she make you feel that she is always in a rush and has no time for the customers. I am just wondering if she had the proper training for a position like that. If I could give zero stars I would. Have you ever been so upset with your experience that you actually took the time to create a yelp account to warn others? Welp this is my first and probably last yelp review. I bought a really cool coffee table from this place and they told me they would put it in back for when I send my husband to pick it up later that day. My husbands gets there with my receipt of purchase and no one in the store can find it. They're explanation you ask? It was probably not put in back and they sold it to someone else. If you've shopped at a goodwill before you will know that for larger items they put a piece of paper on them so other customers know that it was sold and waiting to be picked up. Meaning it was sitting on the sale floor long enough for someone to take off the paper and walk away with it. They're solution? "Well that sucks, here's a portion of your money back" i know they get paid minimum wage but could employees care even just a sliver? Empathy goes a long way. Not coming back to this place.
