I went through their online auction items and every single item starts at shipping cost of at least $25.00. Went to drop off items at the Kings Hwy Location in Port Charlotte, FL - had a full truck as we are in the process of moving. This big, heavy guy, Ernie, comes out to the SUV, looks at the stuff, and says, 'We don't take this.' I said, it is clothing, some new with tags, and housewares. And he proceeded to tell me it was too hot and he did not want anything. Very hateful and rude, so I left and brought it all to the Salvation Army, who profusely thanked me over and over. I liked this Goodwill store. It was large. Full of inventory and neatly arranged. If you're looking for clothing or small housewares -- china, bric a brac -- this is the place for you. Surprisingly all of us found something we were interested in buying. Prices were pretty reasonable. Certain color tags have discounts, but we were too early for their Presidents' Day sale next week (when it's 50% off everything). They do offer a discount to VIPs (for signed up frequent shoppers) and also a 10% discount to veterans. We got some clothing, a large decorative pillow, a whimsical small metal sculpture, and an organizer. Each item was under $3/$4. All bargains!! Excellent store. Fairly decent stuff. And prices are not too bad. I recently moved out from Chicago to the suburbs, and I donated 19 boxes of things to this location. I hope they appreciate it! :-) It beats throwing things in the landfill. I would even say that it was worth packing those things carefully and delicately, moving them all the way out to the suburbs, just to donate them. Witnessed pure hatred from an employee on Sunday November 19th, 2023. I was shopping when I heard a woman struggling to explain to the woman employee her phone number due to English not being her first language. She was being repeatedly bullied, and mocked by employees in front of her children all because they could not understand her phone number. The employee aggressively said to the customer "I CAN NOT READ THAT. I'M NOT REQUIRED TO KNOW SPANISH TO WORK HERE. LEARN ENGLISH IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE HERE." My boyfriend was able to assist them. After experiencing this I was absolutely disgusted. Inhumane treatment. They should be ashamed by how they treated another human being who still payed them. read more

I LOVE this goodwill so much and have never had a bad experience until today! My favorite is London, so fun to talk to and get to know AND SHES almost always there. The reason for such a poor review is that one of the store managers, Karl, wanted to decline my return even though it was within 7 days and on the receipt it states ALL items can be returned within 7 days with receipt. He then became very unprofessional, would not allow us to just speak with a different manager and began treating us like some dorks who just wanted to get their money back on some books because we probably already read them. They were textbooks. If they have a return policy other than what is stated on their receipt then they should at least have that clearly stated somewhere in the store. read more

Today I got halfway to Goodwill with a truck full of outdoor furniture when I realized I had forgotten my mask. I thought to myself, I'll be Quick and not get too close to anyone. When the gentleman came out to help me he got too close for my comfort. He was also not wearing a mask (which I would think would be Goodwill's customer service policy at this point in the coronavirus pandemic). As I took a couple steps back he told me "don't worry, I won't breathe on you; we don't want your stuff; and he turned on his heel and as he walked away told me "why don't you just leave". I have been a long time supporter of Goodwill but I will never go back to this one. read more

I am an avid thrifter and this is my go to Goodwill store in Lee County. There is a rather new pricing structure with discounts on most days, coupons for purchases and an overview of the sales throughout the month available. This particular store seems to have new stock on a regular basis. Women's clothing, textiles and home decor are some of my favorite departments. I had previously dropped Goodwill from my list of places to thrift for the most part, but now it is back on the list and I am an enthusiastic customer. While shopping at the store in Island Park yesterday I had a incredibly horrible experience an employee harassed me and then a friend of mine while trying on clothes in the dressing room while covid19 laws require people to wear masks and socially distance this women stood behind me less then 1 foot and breathing down my neck told me to bring in only 6 items which i did and watched her count then two times she then stood outside my door rifled through my cart and waited for me until i cape out of the room she then told me that there were only four items i hung up that i didn't want accusing me of two items missing that were clearly in my hand i then said to her that i wanted to purchase the two in my hand she made me feel like i was doing something wrong i asked her what her problem was and why she felt the need to stand over me while there was a pandemic she then distanced herself ftom me and proceeded to take to another employee about me in spanish calling me a white girl and a bitch i told her i spoke spanish and i was aware of her racist slurs and bad language she said it's a free country i asked for the manager and the manager said she was just doing her job are you serious i was shaking in fear at this point because i had never been treated this way on a store in my life i don't know why she targeted me this way and i don't know why the manager wouldn't reprimand her for being so nasty and abusive however it was so horrible i felt the need to express my experience here online this goodwill is close to my home and i have always had great experiences there as well as friendly employees who were nice friendly and accommodating this woman however and her terrible manager were by far the nastiest employees i have ever encountered as i was leaving almost in tears and shaking i have asthma and i was very concerned about the fact that she was so close to me and felt abused and definitely targeted in asked a friend of mine who happened to be walking in to let me know if she experienced the same scenario she called me back and said she had a very similar experience and felt harassed as well i don't know what you teach people while in training at this store but it certainly isn't good customer service nor good manors and i am considering calling my attorney and suing for this abuse i hope that you look into these employees and teach them that the customer is always right and to be friendly and helpful not abusive racist and pit customers in danger while there's a pandemic out there that kills people i would consider that as i have a friend and witness who was treated poorly as well they is unacceptable read more

This is one of the better Goodwills in the area. The prices are a bit high on some items but not a bad as others I've seen. As for quality, you can usually find a couple decent shirts and the electronics/appliances section isn't bad either. This store is also organized better than most SWFL Goodwills and has a friendly staff. read more
