This Goodwill is one of the larger stores I've been to on Oahu, although from the street it doesn't look that big. If you are a crazy collector as I once was, you'd love scouting though the plethora of used, new, unusual things people donate. I've found entire Depression Glass plate sets and drinking tumblers. There are brand-name designer clothing with tags still attached to them. I got lucky and found a chic sexy black Armani Exchange top for $8.99. If seasonal stuff is your bag, look here for Fall decorating items, Christmas, Easter, etc. My neighbor picked up a Thanksgiving cornucopia and pumpkin jar for less than $10.00 combined. Books are a great deal too. Found a Peter Lik photo coffee table book for a mere $3.00 (actually $1.50 on the day that I went). Some days have special deals. I went on Friday and any price tag with a blue sticker was 1/2 off. Parking can be a pain in the ass in the small, cramped parking lot. Take gloves or hand sanitizer for after you shop because your hands may be covered in grunge. read more

I have never stepped foot into this branch, but am rating them based on their donation drop off area. While living on the West side of the island for a few years I chose this store as my main donation center, but out of inconvenience still ended up donating a lot of our things to their South Beretania Street branch in town because they had a great drive-thru drop off center, which was much easier to get in and out of. This branch hardly ever has any available stalls and many times the area to drop off your donations already had a car parked there so you would have to wait in your car and maneuver around all of the cars hunting for parking or coming through. Then when trying to pull out of the center's parking lot, it's very difficult to get into the left turn lane with all of the cars sitting in both lanes back to back, so many times you would have to go right then make a u-turn at one of the lights to head the other direction. read more

Experienced a very uncourteouus GW delivery truck driving on Farrington Hwy, Waipahu about 2:15pm heading East. Carelessly changing lanes without directional lights and speeding on a 35 mph zone. First off...this Goodwill is REALLLY hot!! Don't wear pants or long sleeve when coming here! I stepped in and no more than 5 minutes later I'm sweating! Gross! There are fans around the store but still not enough to keep you cool. I love bargains. I love shopping at Savers and Goodwill! I think this is the biggest Goodwill (not sure) One thing about this store that I don't like is that its not as organized as Savers. The clothes are all mixed up. The markers where it tells you the size don't even have the correct size in between that markers. Everything's all over the place. They do have a lot of selection! There's a huge selection of clothes from women's tops an blouses, dresses, mu'umu'u's, jumpers, pants, shorts and capris, wedding dresses, medical uniforms, men's shorts and pants, T-shirts, kids clothes, baby clothes. They've got electronics, books, kitchen ware, toys, books, videos tapes, house decor, dvds, cds, and many many more!! Everyday they have a color that's 50% off the original price. They even have furniture! The parking lot here is crazy! Not much stalls. They share the lot with a bunch of other shops and the stalls are really tight and narrow. When I clean & organize a room, I like to throw things away. For old clothes & accessories, those go in balikbayan boxes to relatives & extended family in the Philippines. My fellow Filipinos, you know how it is. This Goodwill location is relatively close to my boyfriend's house, so when the time comes to purge his walk-in closet/storage (with his permission & assistance, of course), we're left with miscellaneous items & years of discount college textbooks. The Philippines wouldn't need this so off to Goodwill it goes. The drop off was easy. Just pull up to the designated drop off area in front of the warehouse & bring in the goods to the donation attendant at the door. You can also request for a tax deductible donation receipt. I don't know what it is about Goodwill's stuffy interior--maybe it's the giant industrial fans that keep the air flowing in the warehouse, but I prefer Savers for my thrifting needs. When my boyfriend visits The Bike Shop next door to get his biking fix, I find myself browsing Goodwill's shelves to kill time. One time I ended up doing a scavenger hunt looking for the entire Dan Brown book collection which I purchased for 99-cents a book. Who needs Borders when I can get that kind of a deal? read more

I am always on the lookout for vintage crafting supplies, and old books and records to alter. The fact I am the first reviewer for this fine establishment goes to show the bias of the yelpers or should I say young yuppies who are retail slaves (want to say the other world but don't want to be censored). Where else can one find linen napkins (since this area doesn't compost) and even a brand-new toaster oven (with a testing outlet to make sure all the electronics work). Plus, there is a 24-hour return policy for electronics. I love thrift shopping but I was SO disappointed during my last visit to Goodwill. I'm not sure if it is because the thrifting trend has become so popular, or if it's because of their loss in revenue due to the rail project, but the prices of items were absolutely ridiculous! I found a cute dress that was missing a belt, that was marked $14.99. Are you serious? I can go to Ross for that price. Fast forward to a vest for my kiddo's school dress up day. $9.99....what the? Granted some items are new - most items at this location are used. Charging prices that are comparable to retail stores just does not make sense to me. Can anyone help understand this?? On a lighter note, I was able to find two reasonably priced picture frames for some of my craft projects. If you're coming here to shop for clothes, be prepared for some price gauging, otherwise you may be able to find some decent deals on housewares. read more

This Goodwill can be a bit more pricey than others, as they price items individually and not by clothing type. I do enjoy saving money by shopping for color tag, punch cards to get $5 off your purchase after spending so much, as well as Sundays are student discount days and Wednesdays are military discount days. Saving money at a thrift store is always the way to go! The selection is HUGE! Most of my husbands clothes are from Goodwill (I hardly ever shop for clothes for myself, but what I do have is from Goodwill). My husband and I both love the book selection and always walk out of there with a few books. Their movie selection is also AWESOME. I got a movie that was $10+ used on Amazon for $3. Their housewares section is also HUGE and full of choices. Anything basic (and some things not so basic) can be found here, in equal quality and much lower price than Target or Walmart. read more

Not my favorite Goodwill on the island but this one defiantly takes a piece of the cake. If you love thrifting or vintage shopping like I do then you'll find it impossible to walk out of this location without having something in your hand. First of all the parking is horrible and defiantly not for someone who hates narrow parking lots. There are only about 50 or 60 stalls (give or take) that have to be shared with 4 other surrounding stores. When you first walk in you'll notice it's a warehouse versus a regular store. Since it is a warehouse there is no A/C leaving you sweating within the first 15 - 30 minutes. However, there are a limited number of fans blowing in different sections of the store. Not a whole lot of cool air but it's better then nothing. You'll quickly realize that there are A LOT of clothes to sift through. This can be a bad or good thing. Majority of the clothes are women's, leaving the men's and children's section pretty small in my opinion. Besides the clothes, there are a lot of books and knick knack items as well. They also have a nice selection of furniture items, and seem to have enough donations to keep this section replenished very well. If you don't know already Target and Goodwill are teamed up. Whatever Target cannot sell they donate the items to Goodwill, making it the best team up ever! Often you will find Target clearance items here, not only clothing but curtains, lamp, footwear, seasonal etc. being sold for a very low price. read more

I've been to this Goodwill multiple times in the recent month. From football cleats (for flag football), picture frames, books, and clothes you'll find something here. Come by Military Wednesdays you get an extra 20% off. I bought some corduroys (who wears those!?!) for Halloween to chop up. Stuff for my condo, etc. They have athletic clothes section where you can get some cheap dri-fit shirts. I have to check out the other Goodwills on the island but so far so good. read more

Re: Aiea store. From time to time I find some items I like. The downside is I have overheard employees discussing keeping items for themselves several times. This pertains particularly to Nike shoes. Also, yesterday a Goodwill employee was using his phone scanning app to check all books before placing them on the shelves. He was withholding some books on the side, maybe for online auction sales. If Goodwill is going to screen items so thoroughly, will there be any bargains left? Is this truly a thrift store? read more

My focus of this review is the donation drop off process. Goodwill makes it easy to drop off your donations. Once you pull up to their open bay door (stop by the cones), the guy or gal pulls up a cart or bin right to the back of your vehicle for easy unloading. They then give a receipt for your taxes then you are on your way! I think people usually focus on the shopping experience but the folks taking then processing the donations are the unsung heroes of Goodwill. read more

just wanted to give an update for this place because I go here all the time. I saw a negative review about this place and the person (Jim S.) said that whom ever chose the location for this place must have down syndrome. I'd encourage you not to listen to someone that ridiculous that would use Down syndrome as an insult/joke. People like Jim hold this country back. Anyway the only legitimate negative quality about this goodwill is that it has terrible parking. even so I always seem to manage to find a parking spot right in front of it, put the parking spots are small and it can be busy at times. Everything else about this goodwill shop is above average to say the least. I do want to add that the one in Honolulu is better though. Not so much for furniture or parking, but pretty much in regards to everything else there's more selection at the Honolulu location. With that said the Honolulu location is not usually worth the drive if you are near this location. read more

This is my favorite Goodwill on the island, so far. I hate the parking but, once you know..it's no big deal to just expect it to be tight. There's no A/C either but, again - No big deal. (It's a BIG warehouse.) It was large and I've been more entertained searching for clothes and home decor to refinish, as well as kids toys and nick-nacks. I just am not a fan of the way things are priced here on certain items. The employees are actually really nice in this store. I didn't get that in the others. They always talk to me and engage with my kids. I appreciate just any good customer service. Pros- A LOT of selection, customer service is great. (if you love thrift stores, come!) Came here on a Monday to look for bargains. Sign out front read "last chance red tags $1.99" looked around for items that were red tagged but there were barely any. A few here and there but of course items that we weren't interested in. I noticed a rack of clothes that one of the workers wheeled by and place it next to a plastic bin. I walk over and noticed all the clothes on this rack were red tags! I go to tell my husband about it and turn back and see the worker tossing the items from that rack into the big plastic bins. I was like wth! I go to ask the employee if we could look at these clothes that she tossed in the bin and she just walked away. She walked over to another rack and started selecting clothes and placing it on that rack. I go to look at that rack shes placing items on and those were red tags too. I ask her again if I am able to look at these items shes pulling and placing there and again no answer. Very curious to know why they pull the items with specific colored tags that are $1.99 off the racks . Do they not want to sell them? read more

i've been here about 4 times maybe. Honestly, I was hooked until I seen the Waipahu one but this place has everything. Once you walk in, you will notice a huge selection on women's clothing. I mean, majority of it are women's wear, in the front are men's and on the side is pretty much children. They have a good amount of bags and I found 2 bags for a total of $4 together. They have 2 walls of shoes for women and men but not the best. You have to look really good in order to find something you really like and in good condition. They pretty much have everything. From furnitures, clothing, books, home supplies, accessories, shoes and the only thing missing would be automobiles lol. Pros: -Tons of selection. -Almost daily 50% off on color tags. -Fitting room is by the entrance. Cons: -Very hot in there. No AC. -Not all fitting room has a mirror. read more

First time visiting today after hearing great things from my oldest daughter and my sister. Free parking available right out front. They have a huge selection of clothes which is the main reason we went there. Prices are reasonable, like what you would find at Walmart or clearance at Old Navy. We found a variety of name brand items like Hollister, VS PINK, Disney, and Forever21. There are dressing rooms available with return racks right outside for anything you don't want to keep. There is no a/c but they do have huge fans which make it bearable. Dressing rooms however are out of reach from the fans so it will be hot. I would suggest bringing water. They do offer 20% off for seniors, military, and students on select days. read more

Kudos to your comments Jennifer... There are many good things to say about Goodwill that the public has no idea. Most people only know of the retail stores, which not only redistributes clothes and furniture, but also prevents so much stuff from going into the landfills... Their human services programs that provide services to under served communities are the best in the country. One of the best human services programs is the SEE Hawaii Work program that helps folks on welfare find jobs. It's a state funded reimbursement program that compensates the employers wages and medical benefits for the employee. 100's of local employers have been able to help the community and build their workforce from the program. Went here looking for a reasonably priced table for our living room. First time here as a customer. Most times we're here to drop off donations. Looks well organized and clean. Found the area with furniture. Only had two tables one was exactly what we were looking for and price was only $9.99. read more

This GW rocks, though it's a little foreboding when upon approach (as my 6-year-old said, "Uh, mom, this one's kind of gross!" when we walked up). BUT, once you get in and get yourself situated, there's a ton to be found. We got almost a whole new wardrobe for my 6-year-old (like non-or-barely worn dresses), a few vintage-y pieces for me, lots of books...due to being with two grumpy children, I didn't have a ton of time to explore, but the housewares section was big, and there were sooooo many clothes. The lady with her laundry basket, boobs hanging out all over the place and a cigarette (non-lit, of course) dangling out of her mouth was another fun part of this GW location. My kids were appropriately intrigued. I think this is my favorite GW near town, but it IS a little sketchy. read more

I have been wanting to write a review for the longest time. I was surprised that the overall rating for this Aiea store was over 4 stars until I read through the reviews. It seems that the high ratings were for the donation drop-off center, while the low ratings were, for the most part, the price of the items and the service. Thus, the average of 4 stars for this store is misleading. I would give the service 3 stars and the prices of the items 1 star, for an average of 2 stars. The items are ridiculously overpriced. I saw a used plastic basket at Goodwill that I could have bought for a $1 a few years ago at the dollar section of Marukai or Don Quijote. (The price has since been raised to $2 - inflation?) Well, Goodwill has priced the same, albeit USED and beat up, plastic basket at $2.99. I will appropriate our younger generation's vernacular to express my incredulousness- "What's up with that?" The saddest thing is that Goodwill's purpose is to help that part of the community who need the assistance of social organizations such as Goodwill. I thought that meant making used items available at well-below retail prices so that people who cannot otherwise afford a brand new item have an option of buying a cheaper, used item. If Goodwill is pricing their donated, used items at the same or even above the prices of the retail stores (think Ross' or TJ Maxx), they are hurting the very people that they are trying to help. Potential customers will refuse to buy Goodwill's item, and that will mean very little profit for the organization to put into services to help those in need. I consider myself a savvy shopper and if I see an item at Goodwill that is the same price as at the retail store, I will buy it from Goodwill as part of my service to the community. However, if a used item at Goodwill is priced more than the very same, brand new item at a retail store, I will always opt to buy from the store and I am sure that is true for many potential Goodwill customers. The other day, I saw a gentlemen perusing the men's clothing and looking disappointed at the prices. I can afford retail store prices, but this gentleman looked like he could not. If there were some way that I could get this review to one of the higher ups at Goodwill so that someone will be aware of how their pricing is not in keeping with their objective, I would. Believe it or not, this is an excellent place to find used (and sometimes new!) vinyl records. Although this review is for the location in Aiea, finds can generally be made at any one of their numerous locations on the island. Don't hesitate to stop on by...even if you don't find that special vinyl record, you can always shop for anything and everything! Recommended! read more
