Impulsive retail therapy eventually does have some consequences and though I do still have difficulty parting with many items that bring me joy it doesn't mean that it will give others joy as well. Savers is here for one of the reasons and knowing that it's going to a good cause does makes me feel better especially as many do shop here for various reasons finding that items does makes it all worth while. Today was such an overcast, ugly day and we needed to go food shopping for the week but I wanted to stop at Savers Waipahu for a quick thrift. We got quite a few items- my boyfriend is into Vintage Aloha shirts (he found a few Tori Richard Aloha shirts for $19.99 each!) and my son is into collecting vinyl records. I got a few things for my office and found a cute 2T Ralph Lauren jacket for my toddler for $3.49, perfect for our upcoming Fall vacation. Anyways, we get to the checkout line and I see that there is self checkout and regular cashiers. I let a few people go ahead of me to self checkout and waited for a regular cashier to open up. The cashier started on my items and the Toddler jacket was one of the last items to scan. When she scanned it she picked up her phone and called the manager to verify the $3.49 price. I was like oh okay, weird but whatever. The Manager looked at the tag and said it wasn't the correct price and ripped it off. The cashier said that wasn't the right price so they wouldn't honor the tag and they were going to figure out the price. What do you mean figure out a price? There was a price tag already until the manager ripped it off. The cashier even insinuated that a customer may have changed the price tag, she even had the nerve to say I'm not saying you but somebody" Wtf, first off who is even going around with a tag gun and with Savers price tags- plus if a customer did do that, wouldn't they have bought it already. Unreal. Our total was already at $140 before she scanned the Jacket and I was like eff this. I don't even want to deal with these workers because by that time they were already catching an attitude. I was like, relax this ain't Macys. I think the workers forgot Savers was a thrift store. I looked at my boyfriend and said we don't need this stuff anymore and he agreed, so we just said cancel the transaction and left. Money better spent elsewhere. I have never in my life had this shopping experience- Shopping at a store, grabbing an item with a price tag (that their employees put on) and then when you go to pay for it, the worker decides they don't like the price so they want to change it and make up their own price. This store is better than the Moiliili Store because of the variety. The bummers is the prices on some of the ladies' clothing. I saw a tropical top priced at $49. Yikes! I saw a Hula Bay dress that used to be priced at $7.99 but now it's priced $12.99. For real, brah! Most of the workers look unhappy and don't bother to acknowledge the customer unless you're one of "their own kind". So besides the high outrageous prices on donated items, and no-smiles employees, there is NO public restroom available. They will be losing a lot of long time customers (especially the senior citizens) if they don't change this and their high prices. Sometimes their tagged price is higher than the attached retail tag. I hardly come here anymore but the clothes are okay depending on what you prefer. I have even found name brands here. A major plus if it's in good condition. I definitely look for that. I came here with high hopes but unfortunately we stopped by on Senior day and those seniors are savage! It was like Mad Max with their shopping carts so it wasn't a relaxing experience since I was trying to dodge them and not get my toes ran over. Huge clothing selection, small home goods selection. The clothes were well organized but they don't have dressing rooms and limited mirrors so I didn't want to take a chance. Prices were higher than expected for clothes so with not being able to try, I held off on buying any clothes. Books were Buy 4, Get 1 free and I cleaned house so I was happy about that! Thrift Shopping in Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i... My college friends wanted to do a non-eating activity and chose to go to Savers in Waipahu on a 30% off discount day (Tuesday) for shopping. Located in the Waipahu Shopping Plaza, Savers shares its free parking lot with Pacific Market and Max's of Manila. I was greeted right away by the worker who said, "Welcome to the oven!" I asked how long the air conditioner has been broken? He replied, "Since Thursday..." Wow... Six days of torture... LOL! Okay... I looked quickly through the kitchen gadgets, office supplies, sewing and knitting items, books, jewelry, etc. I think the prices are higher than those at Goodwill. I read a review that stated that Savers is a for-profit organization. Hmmm... Oh, well... My cousins enjoy shopping at this Savers. They said it's bigger than the Kalihi store. They told me about all of the good deals they have found in the past. If you have time to go treasure hunting, maybe Savers in Waipahu will be a better experience after the air conditioner is repaired... read more

Rude staff. I went in to donate (like I always do) and was given the usual 20% off coupon, somewhere along my thrifting trip, I lost it. They refused to give me another coupon and when I asked to retrieve my donated items, they said the clothes were taken to the back already. I was there on 9/17/2025 at 11:30 am. The 2 women were super rude to me. A few weeks ago I went to make another generous donation and they refused my donations saying they were not accepting baby items. My thrifting experience has not been enjoyable here at the waipahu location and I will be going to town to get treated better. If I could leave this place 0 stars I would. I understand the policy may be one coupon and that's it but clearly I lost it with my newborn and I was in tears and the women at the door and check out (self checkout) were extremely rude and should be given a lesson in customer service. read more

This 1 star review is in regards to the pricing only. I've been thrifting at this location for over 5 years now. The prices at this location has always double or triple the prices compared to the other location. Not sure why, but here are 2 photos in comparison one is at the Moiliili vs Waipahu. What I have shown in comparsion is two pairs of Harman Kardon HK206 speakers that originally came with Dell computers in the early 2000s. One is priced at $9.99 and the other is priced at what $199? When I went to Waipahu today, I had to take a look and to see the reason why these speakers were behind the counter as if they are considered a high end item. Just because the brand is Harman Kardon, does not mean that the speakers are worth $200! Good if you can sell the bag at $20 Max. I am extremely disappointed and quite disgusted at this Savers location. My husband and I went to go donate a bag of clothing and figured we'd walk around. He ended finding a Looney tunes Members jacket which looked like a replica for $9.99. So we thought we would just get it because it looked cool and for that price, it was worth taking the risk... That's why we thrift right to find good prices? When we got to the line the cashier Rochelle called me right before I was about to go to self checkout. She was ringing up my items and seen that I had a Members only jacket and that it was $9.99. She immediately said, "ohh this is the wrong price." I asked her why she thought it was the wrong price and she just walked away to her manager. She talk to her manager and then proceeded to head to the back. Not even a minute later she comes back and they changed the price to $29.99! Then the cashier said that was the wrong price, it's $29.99. Like really? You figured that out in 10 seconds and asked the person in the back to retag it? That seems really shady to me! I asked her to call for a manager. Stacey came and I said, you guys were supposed to honor that price that we found the jacket with at $9.99. She automatically told me I'm sorry, I can't change the price. Ummm, lady your associate just changed the price in the back room. I told her that that was wrong & had I just went to self checkout I would have gotten that $9.99 price and there would have been nooo issues. The way you guys are running business here is not right and for you guys to change the price to make it more expensive when these items were purely donated/free from everyday people like me... A few weeks ago my girls took me to do one of their favorite things "thrifting". They love Savers and all the great bargains. At first I was overwhelmed with so many things in one place , but my girls have their system so I just followed. We enjoyed looking at all the small bags with lots of bargains in them. Just random things bunched together. One whole wall full. You definitely need to have time to go to Savers. The one thing I did like was how everything was so nicely hung or placed in an organized fashion. Shorts and pants hung with the sizes facing out and most of the clothes are well sorted in different categories. Plus on certain days they offer a savings if you purchase a certain color price tag. You can return your purchase if it doesn't fit because there is no dressing room since COVID I was told, but it's kind of an even swap exchange. The store is as well kept as it can be considering how many things are for sale. Lots of parking and the ladies that work here is very nice and welcoming. Looking for a bargain or something unique try Savers.... You will be amazed at what people donate and if you donate you will also be given a coupon for 20% off your next purchase. read more

10-13-21 if you like to browse Knick knacks or items that have been donated you might find this store interesting. Hubs found that his jeans needs to belong to someone who is lighter on the scale. Ahem... he didn't want to look at NR or R so he settled here. He found a few but decided on one pair priced at $12.49. I'll probably need to cut off and hem it for him. I tagged along so we could have lunch a few doors down. Once in a blue moon I'll come across an item for my Big Sky Bears collection or my winter village that come out during Christmas time but not today. However, I found a $1.99 orange drawstring bag I can use on our upcoming trip that I certainly use while outlet shopping or to pack a light jacket. I probably wouldn't want to be seen using it here. I figured I know only one pledge sister who lives in the Pacific Northwest so good enough since orange is an autumn color. I like it if I see items still new with original packaging on them. We decided to go thrift shopping this past weekend. We had found some really cool stuff there. I like to look at the things on the shelves because you can always find some interesting things there. My teenager had found some jeans and shorts and was in love with it because she has a hard time finding her size in regular stores. She's in between kids and teens at the moment. I like savers because they choose a different color tag each week which half off, it changes weekly. Also love their return policy. I'm a regular visitor of Savers, especially for their Waipahu location since I live close by. I am a bargain chaser and love the things I can find at thrift stores. This Savers always has good variety and soo many brand names to choose from that you won't be disappointed. Brands I've come acrosss include Michael Kors, Coach, Calvin Klein, Bebe, Victoria's Secret, PINK, Burberry, Disney, Abercrombie & Fitch, Volcom, Hurley, O'Neil, Obey, Juicy Couture, Aeropostle, Hawaii's Finest, Champion, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Crooks & Castles, Hinano, Ainofea, Defend Hawaii, Manuheali'i, Roxy and so much more. That's just a short list of brands I like to pay attention to. In the past I've purchased items for arts and crafts, costumes, kitchenware, decorations, work clothes, gym clothes, winter wear, books and collectables to name a few. They also have their jewelry and luxury items locked up in the front for you to view with the assistance of a sales associate. I also donate a lot to the store and in return they give you a discount flyer to use at check out that takes off 20% of your total bill. You can get this flyer every time you come and donate too! During special sales, they'll have different color code tags that will be up to 50% off for each day of the week and you can use your discount flyer on top of that to get an even better sales price over all. Dressing rooms are closed due to covid so if you purchase something and it doesn't fit, they give you 2 weeks to return any clothing items for store credit. They don't provide cash refunds. Their prices have gone way up over the years though to the point that they'll price things over their original price when these items were brand new. Even items that are brand name but look like trash will be priced like treasure. I've just learned how to avoid these by shopping for certain items elsewhere and only come during sale events or when I have a coupon to use but it's always a fun time rummaging through all the new items that stock the shelves daily. The parking lot is pretty big, but it can fill up when it's busy. I've always managed to find a stall close to the entrance though. They have shopping carts and baskets for you to use. The facility has AC and they play music while you shop so being here is very enjoyable. I recommend bringing your own reusable bag or they have plenty for sale. Paper bags are available too for 15 cents. If you're hungry, there's plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from that are both a short walk or drive away. Most times it can be pricy for second hand, but I've found some great deals as well. Good luck finding color of the week on clothes, I haven't been seeing any color of the week for pants, button downs and t-shirts, which is odd. I love shopping at Savers! It's nice coming to this location to beat the heat because this store has air conditioning. I can browse for hours looking around my favorite sections of the store which are skirts, handbags, dresses, mens t-shirts and shoes. I like to shop on Mondays because club members get 25% off. It's really easy to sign up, all you need to do is provide you phone number and email. You can also get a 20% off coupon when you donate to the store. You will also receive emails when there's sales throughout the year. The staff is always so caring and friendly whenever I come in. The kind man who works by the front door is always so welcoming and pleasant. I also used to work at Savers a couple of years ago, so I love coming in here to get my thrift on and say hi to the people I used to work with before like Stacie, Lima, Arn, Emily, Nona and Marlene. They all have a heart of gold and are extremely hardworking too! It's fun coming to Savers because you never know what you might find. It's kind of like a treasure hunt. Don't forget that you have 2 weeks to exchange the items you don' t want. So I always make sure to try on the clothes as soon as I get home because there's no fitting room in Savers. Overall, this place is huge! It has great selections and it may be a little pricey for a thrift store. I would have spent less at Salvation Army, Shein, maybe even at Ross. Also it's self-checkout, but the employees were chastising customers about how they were ringing stuff up and about the hangers. I'm not getting paid for this, stop training me and ring the stuff up. I paid 10 cents for a bag and then realized while walking out I didn't get the bag so I asked the guy at the door and he told me I had to discuss that with the manager. For a 10 cents bag?! I just spent $100, just give me a paper bag! I'll just stick to Shein. read more

Thrifting..one could literally spend hours in here searching for treasures! Savers Waipahu is located next to Max's restaurant and near Pacific Market. Parking stalls are tight and driving around the lot is too. Once you've found a spot, the treasure hunting begins. A friendly guy greeted me at the door and noticed I was carrying some extra bags for donation. He thanked me and said I could drop it in the bin on my left. He then handed me a coupon and off I went to explore. This location was very organized and clean. I could easily navigate through the entire store. However the aisles are a bit tight for a pregnant lady crossing paths with another mama and her stroller.. It's definitely a weaving game on the weekends. I love coming to Savers near Halloween. My senses are pretty heightened being prego, so it didn't stink in here until a kid ran past me and most definitely needed a diaper change, poor thing. During COVID I watched and follow too many thrift store shoppers; I learned about recycling, upgrading, and sewing with second hand treasure buys. I've visited, 3-yrs ago, Savers and found a few great deals. Needless to say I got addicted to thrift shopping; and what made it so much easier for me to keep going back; is their great personnel, from the stackers to the main manager LIMA. LIMA is the best store manager I've come across in all my shopping days. I'm totally impressed with LIMA, I've seen her politely greet customer to firmly challenge to leave a thief! (I can't never understand why people steal from low price thrift shops - thieves should try high priced department stores.) At SAVERS everyone is a hard worker individual making minimum wage, we should thank them, not steal from them! I highly recommend taking a second look at your local thrift shop. Review for both locations : Prices are ridiculous now for clothes that are DONATED. Pretty greedy for money. I find items that were priced higher than it's original price. I love this savers. The store is super large, they keep it tidy throughout the day. And the workers are very helpful and friendly. They great you when you walk in. They will open up another register when the lines get to. They offer discounts per month specials for cardholders. And big 50% off deals on most holidays. You can normally find something fun that you didn't know you wanted. I found more than a few special things at thus location. I did notice that the prices lately have been a bit outrages. I'm not sure if they're trying to make rent but I've noticed a excessive Price increase. read more

Savers is where you go when you realize that you don't have that thing you meant to get. You know, the thing that someone else had and you thought might be nice to have, but then you didn't. Good news- that person no longer needed that thing, and it's waiting for you at Saver's now. I've found everything from the perfect costume to a fantastic water bottle to a great beach bag here. Tuesdays are senior discount day, so expect long lines and extra bargains if you go on that day. Not yet a senior? That's ok, find an older friend who could use a few things and check out with them. Even without the extra discounts you will find something at just the right price. You can also just wait for one of the other discount days, but I like to go on Tuesdays with my mom. Best of all, if you donate four bags of goods you get to spin the wheel and use the discount you win on that day's purchase. The wheel is just inside the front door, so all of your donations should be brought there. The employees at the door are very happy to help you wrangle the donation process. The only downside, but only if it bothers you, is that the Savers stores are a for profit thrift chain. They do make donations to a variety of charities, but the majority of the money made is a profit vs a fundraiser. It means the prices are a bit higher and it doesn't give you the "feel good because you're doing good" vibes of some thrift stores, but they have a good thing going, so its really up to you to decide if you're ok with the business end of things. Savers has been my go to thrift shop for years. Wednesday is military discount day. Thursday they put out new clothes donated from local stores. They have monthly sales and daily specials by tag colors. Recently their prices have gotten higher and higher on designer items though. Many people thrift to save money. It seems unfair for a thrift shop to price something that they got for free at $69 and $99. Other than that, this is a great location for books, fabric, clothing, jewelry, shoes, purses, Knick knacks, and toys. read more

I was at the self checkout I had my baby in my hand and the store associate I wish I got the name but like my hands was full I scanned my shirt and the a blanket w/pillow and I was still thinking if I wanted to get this Elmo toy because it was pricey for a thrift store it was a $20 toy . So the store associate asked do u need help scanning I said no I'm still thinking . She goes a head and called a manager reminding you I had my baby in my hand . So anyways I decided what the hell im just buy it so I scan it I payed for it and both the store manager and associate rush me and I felt intimidating because what the heck and they literally was standing right by me scanning and pay for my items . And there were like let me see in the wagon I said why u guys literally seen what I have cuz I only bought 3 items . There were like let me see the receipt I gave to them cuz what's there to hide . And there were like only have 3 items on your receipt I said yeah I only have three items they stated I had a toy I said no I don't and I walked out cuz I payed for the item . They tryed to grab my arm and I had my baby in my hand I said don't touch me . The manager proceeds to get passive aggressive with me and accuse me of stealing and I told her she had no right to touch me in the first place. Regularly there. Staff are always kind. Smells nice. They need to work on their bathroom just in case someone needs to take a leak though!

Another meeting place with a client. Figure since I'm here, midas well do a review. So far so good. The place looks really organized, similar items in their sections. To be honest, looking at the store, it's pretty appealing being a thrift store. The Staff were friendly and thankfully I didn't get annoyed by people shopping.
