I really like to shop at the downtown Goodwill Store. They don't have changing rooms. But I find their prices are so reasonable. In the last month I've brought home five pairs of jeans. I've enjoyed treasure hunting at various thrift locales for years. Goodwill was always a place for a potential score. Not anymore. Once they began selling much of their donated inventory online, store customers are hard pressed to find great items that make you feel fortunate to have come in. It seems that the "treasures" have been cherry picked from the incoming donations, for online sales at significantly higher prices. Great selection of clothing and DVDs here. The rest is pretty damn picked over and it's hard to come up with many treasures at this location in my experience. The store can also be a bit wild and wooly at times, but it's kept in check by your friendly neighborhood Loss Prevention folks stationed right up front. The staff is unbelievable! The supervisor/ manager singled out my husband, gave him dirty look as soon as he walked in, and then later when he was in line to buy things she was talking about him to the sales clerk, still giving dirty looks,then when he went to the counter started demanding he show her the bottom of his shoe in a rude and accusatory way,when he asked why she said she knew he was stealing them and saw him go into the dressing room with them.he never once was in the dressing room or by it. When she saw that the shoes were not stolen,but in fact his shoes he was not given an apology or anything,in fact the lady just gave him more attitude and said some rude remark. The thing is he actually bought the shoes at that goodwill a few weeks ago,so luckily the mark had warn away because otherwise she would of said they were stolen. It is unacceptable to treat anyone this way but to treat a paying customer like this is not okay.and no apology when she found out she was wrong?! Since he never went in the dressing room like she claims that makes me think she was profiling him and just making assumptions based on her ignorance about his appearance. read more

I love the Goodwill! Only one thing bothers me about them. The color of the tag that "happens" to be half off on a particular day, will inevitably be near impossible to find in the store. My educated guess is that, if one was to wander into the back room, one would see racks of clothing, etc. bearing this color on it's tags. Why? These are donated items, and I believe Goodwill is an important and socially conscientious part of our community. I always have. Having many half-off items to select increases the excitement and trust of the consumer. We are very likely to purchase other items at the original and affordable markdowns as well. All said and done, Goodwill's sales are at least what they expect; probably better. In addition, they continue to live up to their name. Not only is this Goodwill much larger than many of the other locations I've been to in rural Washington, but it has its own little cafe! It was closed when I was there on a Saturday afternoon, but it looks like they make coffee, tea, and chai drinks, and may have some cookies and pastries for sale. So I'm guessing they don't mind if you bring a drink while you shop. It's very spacious inside (it feels like it might have been a Kmart or something in a previous life), and the focus is definitely on women's clothing, which takes up a majority of the racks in the center of the store. There's a decent-sized housewares section - oddly, the glassware and plates are sorted by color, which I've never seen at a Goodwill. The kids' and toys sections seemed small, and not a lot of furniture, but a decent selection of art and frames. Prices are comparable to other Goodwills and they do have the half-off colored tag of the day, so it's definitely worth a stop if you're thrifting in the Spokane area. read more

My #1 complaint with this store I have mentioned multiple times to different employees and apparently falls on deaf ears. If you want to sell the dvd's and especially the cd's, why don't you place them on an upper shelf where adults can SEE them easily? I'm in my 40's and it is nearly impossible for me to squat for any length of time so I must sit on the disgusting floor. I'm not even overweight. You are excluding a large percentage of shoppers by displaying them this way. Yet just a few aisles over is an entire row of toys. Does that make sense? Kids can't see the upper shelves of toys, yet adults are required to crawl around on the floor if they want to shop through the music and movies. Marketing 101! Set your store up better. #2 complaint is having to ask for the restroom to be unlocked. Do you really think this decreases theft? No one pays attention to whether or not you take anything in with you. It's unprofessional, tacky, and annoying to hear so many unnecessary overhead pages. Ok.. so I am addicted to thrifting. Been a thrift addict for a good 7 years now. Goodwill used to be my go-to store (especially when I lived on the coast). You used to be able to get a couch, or a real wood shelf for about 8-20 bucks! It was fun because you were finding unique, discount items. It's meant for people that are on a budget. I went in to goodwill on third ave today, and I will admit that it is the worst goodwill out of all the ones located in Spokane, but that was my last time going to goodwill. I was looking for a mirror, a medium sized wall mirror. I found one! It was VERY worn out, an artificial plastic/wood, out of date, and ugly, but I figured I could just sand and paint it. I flipped it around expecting it to be around 5 bucks. It was 29.99. 30 effing dollars for a small piece of sh*t mirror. Guess what? I went to Ross afterwards and got a larger, brand new, beautiful mirror for $11. I've also started going to other thrift stores because goodwill has honestly become a joke. Your prices are too high for your filthy junk. Not to mention, I understand this is a thrift store, but the one on 3rd is so, so dirty, dressing rooms are filthy.. the standards need to be higher. The last time I went in there, there were bedbugs crawling on a chair. Yeah, bedbugs. That means they don't check the furniture before they put it out. One time an employee walked into my dressing room without knocking. Good thing I wasn't undressed yet. The amount you are paying for overpriced, filthy, disorganized trash just isn't worth it anymore. Do better read more

I like this place. It's not the very very best thrift store in all the world BUT if you have time to dig you will find some goodies! I found a $1,200 pair of Burberry pants for $8! I love it when the people that do the pricing don't realize what they have. read more

My favorite thrift store in Spokane! They have everything organized. For example they have a rows of women's short sleeves, women's long sleeves, shorts, gym wear, coats, organized by color and size. They always have new inventory I don't always purchase something when I go, but I do like going there. The staff is friendly and helpful. And on Monday's they have military and student discounts. read more

I am a big thrift store fan and I have to say I love love the constant amazing finds at the downtown Goodwill. This location has the widest variety of different items and it is akways stocked with new goodies every day. Sometimes finding what you are looking as too specific type can be hard with the layout thats changes but I think that adds to the "treasure hunt" vibe. read more

This Goodwill was big and close to where we were staying in Spokane. We checked it out and it was super crowded but we still stayed to rummage around. There was a few things we had found but I think it partially was due to wanting to find something. When deciding whether or not to buy anything we both had decided on no, because the items we had found weren't super amazing for the prices and it was more so that we were just wanting to get something for the amount of time we had spent in this goodwill. I can see them having cute stuff but it must just depend. I think that sometimes the people that work there can get most of the donations or cute things that come in so the store isn't left with much besides everything else. read more

This Goodwill is definitely one of my favorites for looking for clothing. It is much bigger than some of the other ones around and always have a great selection. They have 50% one tag all week long so typically I try to just look for those tags but sometimes find great deals on other ones as well. They have a HUGE dress selection and swim selection here so you can find cheap summer treasures! I typically try to stop in once a week just to check it out. read more

Great selection of used baby clothes. I came out with about $100 worth of clothes for about $25. The location is very large and located just off of I-90. The lot is a bit tricky to navigate, but worth it when you see the selection inside. read more

About once a year I think to myself "Maybe it's gotten better." and stop back in this place. It has been 9 years of this and so far it's only gotten worse each time. The staff is rude, the store is dirty, the goods are a jumbled mess (OK, in a thrift store that is expected, but really, it does have a limit.) The prices are all over the place but usually it is a very high place. Like above the clock tower in Riverfront Park high. If they even suspect it might be something good they skyrocket the price. Tip for them: Just because a piece of glass is colored does not make it a priceless Depression-era collectible. Same goes for tarnished and broken costume jewelry. Stop using Ebay as a pricing guide and try learning about stuff instead. Sorting out the good stuff and tacking on outrageous prices or putting it in online auctions squashes the customers who thrift for the thrill of finding a great piece at a great price. It actually pisses us off enough to shop elsewhere and Spokane offers many other shops who are happy to make us happy and take our money on good deals. I know your CEO makes a bazillion a year but that doesn't mean we will help pay it. Unfortunately the store up on Nevada appears to be heading the same wrong direction. read more

I said I would never shop in this store again. I decided to give it 1 more try, thinking that after a few months things had changed. What a mistake. There was only 1 employee actually working, a redhead that has excellent customer service skills. There was a young blonde flirting with everything she could get close to. She was flirting with the security guard, and a much older employee. She was extremely loud and giggled non stop. If you have to describe what a ditzy blonde is she would be it. She followed both all over the store never actually doing any work. I as well as several other customers asked to speak to the manager, of course he wasn't in. The redheaded cashier offered to get the supervisor, but last time I was in it took almost 20 minutes to get one, I declined. The cashier however was very polite and apologized for the situation and offered me as well as 2 other customers they managers business card. I went to find patio furniture instead I ended up listening to a much older employee tell the ditzy blonde and security guard how he loves her loud giggling. This has always been my favorite place to look for treasure but as of late, I feel they have lost their collective minds. The prices have increased up to 50% in some cases. I used to get adorable nice gently used blouses for $4.99-$5.99.....today I saw the same style of blouse that I have purchased in the past for $12.99.... I would rather put in a few more dollars and get it at the department store. I saw a nightgown today that was older, worn and yellowed,,,,and no tag,, the cashier gave a price that was a couple dollars less than new. The customer behind me explained "I thought it would have been priced at $1.99".. She refused to lower the price to a reasonable rate and then she asked me to donate my $.92 change. What is going on with the price increases and the refusal to even consider lowering price to a reasonable amount when it was pointed out the yellowing color and pilling fabric? read more
