I love thrift stores. I have been to about five of them since moving here. Value Village rocked! I found a wonderful picture to hang on my wall. I found a beautiful skirt, a couple of tops and a pair of yoga pants. I put their app on my phone.. I received a discount for doing that and I'm also a senior citizen and I got a discount for that also. They had a lot of items in their store also at a discount price. I paid under $40 for everything I bought. It all looked brand new.. Their displays were great. They must go through all their clothes because there wasn't one shirt or anything else that I looked at that was dirty or torn. Prices were amazing, but not everything was tagged, so you had to ask the staff what something's price was, which is annoying since it is self checkout only. I love thrifting and this is for sure one of the best stores to look for anything. BUT my only complaint here is the staff. There are plenty of good things like clothing and electronics but the staff was so rude. I found something without a price in the electronics section and I'm thinking "oh maybe I could get a deal on it". As I got my things to check out I asked the short woman of color "hey this didn't have a price" and she was quick to say "oh does 5.99 work?" I was trying to negotiate prices because hey it's a thrift store, things are meant to be cheaper right? After going back and forth for a minute another taller woman in the back who also works there said aloud "Oh my Husband specializes in those, it's around that price!" Like excuse me, is this your conversation? That was so uncalled for. The original woman was still firm on her price so I said screw it since the item is at least 4X it's value if I do want to resell it. That was my worst experience there. Ex: womens jeans: $9.49, women's sandals: $9.49, $13.99 and $15.99. Veterans get 25% discount on Wednesdays only. THERE ARE NO FITTING ROOMS, and you can only return for store credit. It's self check out, bring your own bags. Today DESIREE was sitting in the chair overlooking self check out and decided to loudly make snarky remarks about a customer "who has 2 arms and can push a cart." She obviously felt very comfortable being obnoxious and unprofessional in front of customers, her other coworkers and shockingly, the manager. I then quietly asked an associate for her name, Desiree asked "did she say I was rude?" So I hollered back "yes I did because you are. You are in customer service!" So I asked the next associate as I walked out to grab a manager, she was the manager and said she witnessed it all and will handle it. be careful here - no fitting room + no returns (exchange only). I went in for the first time last week, grabbed a bunch of clothes and asked about the fitting room. I was told by an employee that there wasn't one, and as I turned to start putting my stuff back she told me I could buy my stuff and return anything that didn't fit. Two pieces didn't fit and when I brought them back in I was told I couldn't get my money back. Of course the return policy is at the register and on the receipt so it's my bad for not checking, but I was told by one of the EMPLOYEES that I'd be able to make a return. Overcharged us on books. They have sign stating all prices and yet all the prices became higher at check out. Had to argue with the cashier, just to told that the sign with the prices was wrong and that they use a barcode system not mentioned on said sign. Payed for a bag but never received one so we had to carry $45 in books all the way out to the car. The cashier was rude and would not listen. Got our phone number wrong two separate times, I assume so we wouldn't get our discount. This will be the last time we get ripped off by value village again. The prices on the merchandise is unreal. Is anyone else experiencing the strong cologne odor eminating from their clothing? It's not horrible but it is strong and will not come out no matter how many times the garment is laundered. I have redonated several items because it. The weird thing is it's not really noticable in the store, but very strong when I get home. I'm a mother who was walking with my baby and some homeless looking person swinging an axe was following me like aisle to aisle back to front of the store (and it was like a logger's type of axe- nothing small or unnoticeable about it). Despite the fact that this is maybe the largest Value Village on the face of the planet, I wasn't able to find anything to take home with me. Maybe it's the cavernous expanse that was too overwhelming, or the fact that we'd already been to 2 other similar stores and I was all thrifted out. Plus, there were no specials that day, and VV prices run high anyway. Although I did make a mental note that if I'm ever in need of adult diapers, this is the place to get them. Overpriced for cheap brands that have a lot of wear and tear in them. A shirt with pilling and cracked symbols and sweat stains was selling for 20$. Overused cheap walmart brands being sold at almost 10$ when you can get it new for that price. Overall just a selection of run down cheap clothes. If there is ever anything nice, even if its run down and used, it will be priced exceedingly high. Not worth the time or money. I would suggest being absolutely sure when you purchase something, and to never remove tags off of something you do in case you need to return it-they don't give refunds, but store credit. I didn't know this-I asked to speak to a manager who told me "she was doing me a favor by letting me have store credit because the tag had been removed." Which of course really ticked me off and I didn't respond very positively to that specific statement. I would expect more tact from a manager. A little overpriced on a lot of things, but they have a great selection. The only reason I am giving this one star is because of the terrible customer service. They have a: Used book selection. Kitchen apparel. A bit of jewelry. Used electronics, which are kind of crap. More women's clothes than men's. Dish wear. Shoes. And a few other things. This place is interesting in at least one way. It's big which one might think means they have a lot of options (they kind of do) but at least for me the last 2 times they haven't / been difficult to find. I was looking for a XXL sweater to buy and couldn't find one yesterday. The last tome I came I was looking for jeans and I found some that I settled for but not my size. Good not great, "A-ok" place. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly just the pricing. I love the store and this is a whole lot like Savers, if you have ever been in one of those. The price point was just a little too high for me considering it is thrift. I know they are more clean and organized than other thrift stores, but I still don't want to pay a whole lot for clothing that isn't brand new in the first place. The service wasn't bad and it was an easy to find location. We didn't end up buying anything this time we were in I'm pretty sure. I LOVE this store. My first place to look for almost anything. Well lit, well organized, ample changing rooms on most days, clean and staffed with awesome people. They have great sales, discount day for seniors, point systems, etc. They can have some quality merchandise and you may spend more there than at some places if you don't have a coupon or discount. I have consistently found great values in all departments. Like all second hand stores, one needs to check for imperfections in used merchandise, and remember there are no returns, (exchanges only,) within a week, with receipt, with tags still on. read more

This Value Village (or Valu' Vill'ag') is amazing. Despite being an exceptionally large store, they really don't stock much crap that isn't worth viewing. The store stocks the same type of wonderful little vintage pieces you'd find in consignment shops, but at a much larger volume and lower price. They also offer a massive amount of practical objects, in good condition (not unique for a thrift store, I know). The store out on Sprague has a wider selection of housewares, misc objects, etc, but the clothing selection is relatively weak. One last point: Value Village is a for-profit chain, so if you're into thrift store shopping for charity, this ain't it. read more

If you are just starting out in nursing and don't have a ton of $ to spend on uniform this is the place. I have shopped at the Boone Value Village in Spokane since the early 1980s, and I really think of it as "my" store. Looking around my life, there are so many parts of it that have been supported and embellished by bargains purchased at V V. Value Village is where I start and often finish my shopping for clothes, shoes, home decorating, kitchen wares, books, office supplies, crafts, sports equipment, furniture, really everything but food and gas! While the prices have gone up in the past few years, the store has gotten more organized, tidier, and the employees are professional, helpful, and continually busy, and I do hope they are paid well for their hard work. I take advantage of online coupons, dollars off for donations, stamp cards for % off, senior citizens discount, and tag color reductions. I tell all my friends, if you can't find something you want or need there today, go back in the next few days, every week, and you will get hooked on the bargains you will find. The only frustration I have is the dressing rooms. I have to wait to be shown into a room and have the clothing tags checked first. I understand the detriments of shoplifting and tag changing. I am honest and ethical and would never steal, but I have to be treated the same as the would-be thieves. If I could have all the money I have saved over the past 30 years by shopping at Value Village, I would be rich! As it is, I just look rich, because I never had that kind of money!! I even purchased my wedding dress from V V for $1.99 and the only reason anybody knew was because I had to brag about the bargain!
