Would be a great place to shop if the workers weren't constantly yelling and somewhat violently at the shoppers while issuing threats to kick people out without actual provocation. Very tiring and they do this even while young kids are about. The workers in general seem very anti-shopper and management seems totally cool with this. I bought this Lana Del Rey CD at the goodwill and they said that they're gonna have to charge me extra since she's a famous artist. I have no issue with that because I love Lana, but this is ridiculous how they are charging people more because an artist is relevant. read more

Goodwill Outlet Center - Outlet Stores Near Me - Grandville, Michigan

The Goodwill Outlet Center is one of my favorite places in Grand Rapids! HAHAHAHA. It's essentially a big ware house full of stuff that didn't sell or can't be sealed in the regular Goodwill stores. Everything is just piled into bins, and you sift through all the bins to find stuff. It can be a process, and it's not a pretty process. A lot of crap to go through. Hahaha! I think it's so fun though! Most everything is calculated by weight... so, everything is so cheap! The last time I went here, I got a whole cart full of stuff for under $20!!! And I have found some really nice things, and very unique things here! I go here every few months to see what I can find! read more

Goodwill Outlet Center - You never know what you'll find at "THE BINS". - Outlet Stores Near Me - Grandville, Michigan

I find something uniquely delightful here every visit! Vintage items, collectibles, textiles, home goods, and lots of newer brand name clothing. There is a lot of junk there too, so you do have to spend a good amount of time to hunt- and wear gloves. Once in a great while you may run into someone rude, but overall everyone is very nice and helpful. Amy is a sweetie! Eric and Bret are great too, as are all the cashiers. It is also just a fun place to hang out and socialize in between the bin changes. read more

When coming to a goodwill outlet you have to be aware that everything is in bins and not like a normal store. The items in the outlet are there because they are not in good enough condition to sell in the normal store. Yes, things do smell here but that's the reason they're in the outlet. I found some really nice Columbia jacket. There are no issues with any part of the jacket besides the fact that it smelled a little bad. After a wash cycle, it already smells much better! As long as you know what you're getting yourself into you'll be fine. My friends and I had a blast digging around for treasures and we had the nicest lady check us out when we left! I never go here much for clothes because it feels kinda icky if you don't wear gloves, but I decided to give this place another chance this past week after not going for around a year. After getting home, I discovered one of the sweaters has MAGGOTS inside of it! Be cautious of what you're getting. I have no idea what other clothes there also had them, but into the trash it went. Not really the company or workers fault, just look thoroughly through clothing items you get! We don't know where they've been, or what kind of people are dropping these clothes off. read more

This is exactly what you would expect- a bunch of leftovers and rubbish with a few good finds in between. I arrived around 11:45am to find that they had still not rotated the bins. I was able to find at least two shirts (one was GAP). After about 30 minutes they brought out new bins and everyone was hovering the bins, scoping out what they wanted. They say "Go!" and it's a mad house. It was much more civil than the bins in NYC, so I can't complain. There are scalpers who sit there ALL DAY LONG waiting for bin changes. It smells, it's dirty, there's blood-stained shorts and underwear and all kinds of disgusting stuff in there... BRING GLOVES!!! read more

One thing this place isn't, is clean. Bring gloves. Both regular and boxing. Expect people to grab crap you just picked up to look at right out of your hands. These 'unsavory regulars' mean freakin business. A lot of them are resellers. I was too. But I'm not going to get into a wrestling match over used smelly Nikes. These 'regulars' also have insiders telling them where they hid the good crap for them. Its bs but I still go on occasion. read more

I used to love this place for all the reasons everyone else reviewing it seems to hate it. It's a bit smelly. There are regulars hovering over bins and peeking in the back windows to see what's coming out. Some of the employees are incredibly rude (and yes - with rather dubious personal hygiene). A lot of the stuff in the bins is literal garbage: broken pieces of toys, empty boxes, half-used crayons. But I've found some amazing things in there too - from very-collectable records to vintage designer clothes to original artwork by some not-insignificant painters. Many of the employees are/were fantastic (Norma made the place work up front, but I haven't seen her in a long time). The regulars are eccentric but most are very nice people once you get to know them casually. But things changed recently with a new price-restructure. Pricing used to be $0.79/pound, with media like dvds and video games as well as anything weighing over a pound ringing up as a $0.79 or $0.99 item (except for clothes/bedding, which were always the flat $0.79/pound). Records were $0.49/pound due to their high weight. This facilitated a high-volume approach that still allowed accommodation and consideration of WHAT was being sold. Now everything is a flat $1.19. This makes many things that were previously occasionally worth buying for novelty (things like vhs tapes and records) now only worth buying if you really want them or they're especially rare. That is very rarely the case. They must be throwing a LOT more out now. Particularly galling were the signs up everywhere that said "you asked for shorter lines and we listened! New pricing will stream-line the checkout process!" It sure will! It's also removed about 2/3 of the customers, so checkout is a breeze now! It's sad to see this place destroyed due to a poorly thought-out and implemented managerial decision, but it's clear there is a massive disconnect between Goodwill's corporate bureaucracy and their floor-workers and customers anyway. If they reverse this decision, please someone let me know. Until then, I'll be joining the 2/3rds of the customers who won't be returning. Digging through garbage is only enjoyable if you aren't also treated like it. read more

Literally junk, broken everything, dirty and full of trash. Black Mold is a common smell as well as having it on a lot of the items. There is little to nothing of any value in the bins, and to pay $1.19 a pound for some worthless junk is a bit ridiculous. You would be 100 times better off going to a garage or church sale. You are more than welcome to go there, but it will be a waste of your time, unless of course you are looking for incomplete or broken items, dirty or mold covered items, broken plastic totes, pieces of cardboard, or something that looks like it was shoveled up off from a basement floor or out of the bottom of a dumpster. read more

one of my favorite things to do, is look for junk in the big blue bins, someone else's junk can potentially be my treasure! Enough said, Sunday my daughter and I were going to spend some time in the afternoon, "hunting" for good junk, we arrived at 3:40pm. We knew that they were open until 5, that's what their web sight says, WRONG, only 4pm. So we power shopped, got in line and this one worker, big, fat and rude was telling everyone get in line now or you can't check out...Really it wasn't even 4pm. He was sweating profusely. He was really gross. I am not sure of his position, but you thought he owned the place. Not sure where the management was. He just put a damper on our having some fun at the outlet store in Grandville. Hopefully someone in charge will read this review...... read more

If you are literally looking for garbage, junk, dirt and overall trash, this is the spot for you!!! The complete mis-management of this store is beyond the point of ridiculous. The management, as well as the staff, like to cherry-pick items out of bins that they "think" are too good to go out for sale at the stated store prices and will jack the price up to higher than it was at the retail location. HELLO - if it didn't sell for $1.99 at your store, it's not going to sell for $3-$5 at the outlet!!! At the very least, the staff & management should have enough common sense to take the retail sticker off of the item before they price it higher, but they don't. The staff treat the shoppers in such a condescending & belittling fashion it's a wonder people keep going there. The staff are so rude & inconsiderate that they literally yell & scream at the shoppers on a daily basis. This is due, in no small part, to the mis-management at the lowest level of operations. There is such mass confusion among the staff that facilitates this behavior and shoppers are discourage from returning. There is absolutely no consistency in the order of operations for just the simplest of functions that, as a shopper, you're left wondering if all the staff & management have all forgotten to take their bi-polar medication. If you are looking for a place to shop, to re-sell, collect, flea market or stock your shelves, SKIP THIS STORE!!!! It's not that far to Indiana & there are 3 locations there all within 5 miles of one another. The prices, daily operation & overall shopping experience is consistent & WELL WORTH IT!!! read more
