Over the past couple years, the whole place has become better organized and a lot cleaner. The prices and weekly deals are definitely better than they used to be. Friends carries a wide variety of items. The first floor is furniture, kitchen items, household decorations, toys, and books. Within the past year or so, someone has really stepped it up by staging living rooms and kitchen sets. Looks great! The second floor has clothes, shoes, purses, bedding, and more furniture. They have an elevator if you have difficulty doing steps. The clothing selection is mostly older stuff, but occasionally you can find some neat items. They do have a dressing room. Overall, Friends is a pretty good thrift shop, especially when you compare it to what it used to be. All of the volunteers are very friendly and helpful. A lot of locals come in and shop. Friends used to get a lot of organs and there was an elderly man that would come in and play old rag time music on them. There are some treasures to be had at Friends! They run weekly specials, so even if you do feel some items are overpriced, it will likely go on sale in the future anyway. You'll always have a good experience at Friends!

It was all a waste of time. They don't have fitting rooms. They don't have a return policy. They are charging over $20 for a used dirty pair of pants. Cheapest item I had in my cart was $10 and it was in good shape. If I wanted to leave with over $100 worth of clothes and only have a handful of items I'm then I will go to Gabe's or Marshall's and buy brand new items that I can try on and return if needed. Oh and it's cash only. And don't ask the slack-jawed employees a question or else they'll look at you like you have 3 heads and a horses a**. This place is a joke.

ReStore sells new and used appliances (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves), furniture (e.g., couches, chairs, dining sets, and dressers), building materials (e.g., hardware, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing supplies, and windows), and home décor at low prices. The proceeds from the sales are used to build and repair housing for low-income families in the Pittsburgh area. Most recently, I emailed ReStore to ask if they would accept my shelving unit, coat rack, light fixtures, space heater, flower pots, hose hangers, and other items. I was required to send photos of the items to show the style and condition. Two days later, an employee replied that they would accept my items, and he scheduled a pickup from my house for several days later. On the pickup day, the pickup window was from 9 AM to 3 PM, and 15 minutes before the driver arrived at my house, he called me to inform me that he was on his way. The driver pulled up to my house in a truck (see the attached photo). He was very polite, and he moved my items from my driveway into his truck. At the end of his visit, he handed me a receipt, and he kindly thanked me and wished me a great day.

The staff seemed friendly and quick to help. There were definitely repeat customers coming in and the staff had a great rapport with them. I thought some of the items were pretty pricey, but others seemed more on the fair side. I guess it depends how rare the shirt is and how much you want it!
