As many of you know, I absolutely love thrifting and finding unique items that you may not even expect. This takes me to the the Stockton Blvd "Goodwill" store which has been in operation since 2019. To those that probably remember, this is where a "Thrift Town" once stood for many years and I still have that vivid memory of buying a ton of merchandise from there, all at amazing deals. Located directly on Stockton Blvd and in between 21st Ave/Fruitridge Rd, this Goodwill has its own dedicated parking lot and is quite spacious to accommodate dozens of vehicles. Store hours are standard as they are open 7 days a week from 9am-9pm. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/28/2026 at around 2:45pm. Surprisingly, they were not busy at all which was quite a shock since this was on a weekend day. As I strolled through the aisles, I couldn't find anything that caught my attention. I also wanted to say that the prices seem to be quite a bit higher than what I've been used to seeing. For example, I saw a really nice pair of Levi's jeans but at $24.99, it was a hard pass for me. I also wanted to add that all of the fitting rooms were not available which made it even more difficult. All in all, the Stockton Blvd "Goodwill" can improve this location significantly if they make those minor adjustments. This area of Sacramento offers an abundance of retail and restaurant space so doing little things such as bringing back fitting rooms with more reasonable prices on their merchandise would be a big plus. I will say that customer service here was above average but leaving a thrift store empty handed wasn't what I expected. Therefore, this Goodwill only gets an average three-star rating from me. read more

Firstly, I've been shopping here since it was Thrift Town, and Bowled here weekly when it South Bowl. The clerks are BEYOND amazing, and I've befriended many of them. I was coming here daily and sometimes multiple times daily and spending a TON of money, (I resell). I've regularly brought items that were on the floor that I felt were a theft risk up to the clerks to put behind the counter. I have also brought items to either clerks or "keyholders" when I thought that they had been over-priced or under-priced by oversight. TWICE I found cremated remains, and turned them in to the pricers in back. I have authenticated items for them at "keyholder" request, and they would commonly hold items aside until I came in to get my opinion, as I have had a business doing authentication in the past. Any time that I came across people shoplifting, I would turn them in/snitch them out (depending on your view point!). It happens non stop at this location, and the employees are required to just let them walk on out anyway... The point to this ramble is that we definitely had built a rapport, and I had NEVER had any issues with ANY of the Management or employees there EVER. Unfortunately, I recieved a call on Mother's day from a previous "keyholder" to advise me that HE had recieved calls from several current employees that a new Manager and a new "keyholder" were telling all employees that I am a "tag switcher", (which is the same as calling me a thief). They went so far to fabricate having me on camera at THREE different locations tag-swapping to boost their credibility. Several employees called me after the initial ex-employee gave them my number to contact me and confirmed this all to be true. I'm still so absolutely disgusted by this B.S. that I get enraged any time that I'm forced to drive by that store to go to Smart and Final (as of July 4,26). I quit shopping there period. NOT because I was banned from there (because I was NOT and neither of the spineless management people ever said any of this to me directly), but because there's ZERO chance of me NOT flipping my lid on those two lying management individuals if I run in to them. I think perhaps I was buying mechandise that wanted for themselves because I can't see what the motivation COULD be. I know that I wouldn't want blatant liars as "Management", much less Associates if this were MY store. The service here is top tier!! Legit the dopest people work at this location. The value meh goodwill is so overpriced these days it's insane. But this location is no more expensive than others locally. Can't really dwell on that at face value it is what it is. The real issue is the unbearable heat in there. I like to stop by after work and boy oh boy. I could barely spend 10 minutes inside the store before I began to get dizzy from the heat. I feel terrible for the employees to have to endure that sweat box. While they did have portable ac units for a bit it's hit or miss if they have them. Also where did the fitting rooms go!?! Legit TERRIBLE decision! I legit spend so much less there theses days because honestly who wants to waste time returning things to the thrift store for store credit. In short, while the selection varied daily due to donations, and the rockstar staff, the lack of ability to to try on clothes combined with the terrible heat...... try another thrift store. Please understand your staff should not have to work in such inhumane conditions. read more

Very few selection here, but much cleaner space than others. The service has always been amazing from the staff. Only reason I only put 3 stars is because I saw that they were taking donations from a couple the other day and the stuff being donated seemed to have roaches or something. I saw the couple jumping and stepping on whatever it was that was coming out of the stuff they were donating. I really wish Goodwill would decline donated goods if they're roach infested. After seeing that, I am not sure if I will look at thrifts stores anymore for a while. I always have sanitizer with me, but I would not want to purchase something roach infested to bring home. read more

This store has workers that like to pick and choose the price/and discounts on there mood and who they like. These diapers are labeled 4.99 even though they are damaged and both have 17 out of 20 diapers. I asked can I get a mark down because there damaged and missing diapers. The lady said I have to ask. She sent them to a manager in the back and came back saying sorry but no, I won't mark down and there are non missing and telling me they charge 4.99 on all of these damage or not. This is ridiculous because just yesterday I bought 2 packs of 25 bed pads, with one marked down for being damaged. the same cashier charged me 3.99 for the second undamaged 25 pack of bed pads, I told him how on shelf there or packs of 10 bed pads undamaged for 4.99 even more then the 25 pack. I am loosing faith for this place because I watch my girlfriend on the regular buy clothes and wallets and find a smudge, or a tear, or maybe it was washed so much and give a discount every time...but yet an elderly disabled woman who needs these supplies to enjoy life in any kind of matter don't get the same respect. They allow discounts for useless reasons like a smudge but say screw you to the elderly and disabled. read more

Corporate Goodwill seems to be doing everything they can to ruin this store. From removing fitting rooms to access to bathrooms and raising prices to what you can find new. The last straw is closing off and on because of the "AC" They have no signage explaining why they are closed during business hours and today they kicked me out (again during business hour) with no opportunity to check out because of the AC/high temp. Invest in your facility. From what you're losing in sales, do a facility upgrade. read more

Much of the apparel is pricey, which is jarring because Goodwill receives all of its merchandise from donations. They charge more for designer shirts. X-Men Wolverine, Duluth Trading, and Indiana Jones T-shirts costs more than basic shirts. Black & Decker Power Drill, which doesn't include the drills, Lithium-ion Battery, and AC Adapter, is $9.33. I can find a better deal on amazon. Nike Huarache Shoes is fourteen dollars which is expensive for a pair of second hand shoes. I did find a Nordstrom XL Shirt, Faded Glory Sweater, and a Cali T-shirt which was $11.97. While twelve bucks isn't bad, I wasn't so enthralled with the discount that I would shop here again. For a Thrift shop the prices were just "Meh." read more

I have found some goodies here before. . I like coming here because the parking is easy. . This place isn't too crowded or busy. . The items aren't spread everywhere, it's not neat but kinda organize. . I did found some nice shirts and clothes from here. The nice shirts always get me compliments. Some nice shirts I have found here that is memorable to me is some Tommy Bahama silk shirt for the summer weather. I have found some nice ties and coats from here too. . I like to browse in the cups and plates section for fancy plating items. . Sometimes they have cute watches and cheap costume jewelry just for fun and occasions I need it for. One memorable watch I have found was this Disney rectablge shape watch with Winnie the pooh and brown leather strap. I adore Disney watches and if it's vintage that's a plus too. . Wow, this is a huge thrift store. To me I'd say there toys are organized. I really enjoyed it. Only thing that bugged me metal hangars. I like that this location has kept much of the same 'look' as the former Thrift Town. It is fairly organized well & it's not as crowded as Eco thrift tends to be. There's nothing worse than bumping elbows with someone else while you're all trying to browse 'n thrift. I do miss all the sales & discounts of Thrift Town. Goodwill hardly ever offers incentives. They're higher priced with merch and zero "color code" deals. Also, since this neighborhood is not the best.... make sure you don't have purses, wallets, phones, or electronics visible in your vehicles. Just a common sense precautionary. read more

Retail store: They are marking up brand new items close to full retail. Most shoppers are elderly, homeless or have no money! If they could afford it, they rather go to Wal-Mart, Ross or other brick and mortar stores. This is what I realized, they charge premium prices when products have any popular trademarks with the NFL, NBA and MLB logo. Wow! This is a brand new Goodwill that is in the former Thrift Town building. It opened last Wednesday. We liked shopping at Thrift Town and miss it because they always had specials and sales. I don't think Goodwill ever does sales or promotions. Because it is new it is fully stocked to the rafters. Prices are higher than what we paid at the Thrift Town stores. read more

This new Goodwill has some of the best selection I've seen in any thrift stores around town. Apparently staff hand selects items from the warehouse. I wonder if they will keep doing that beyond their first year. Prices are high for a thrift store, but thrifting is big biz and they're all high nowadays. They close down different sections of the store at 6:30pm including the whole lower half of the store (kids clothes, mens clothes, electronics, kitchenware, knick knacks, kids toys) so forget about looking there after 6:30pm only woman clothes are open. (SEXISTS?) They also close the jewelry case and dressing rooms at 6:15pm. This store literally does not want your money. ‍ Poor business practices and customer service. Hope it gets replaced by a better thrift store or they change their dumb policies. read more

This Goodwill Fruitridge Manor is mess. It was never like this when it was Thrift Town. The customers are trashy all around. I had one guy challenge me on what I was wearing and buying because I didn't answer him. Another guy just walks up to the counter to pay while there is a line with one register open. Then my cc card was having an issue while paying and the sales person Adrianum turns around and started helping someone else. She started walking away during our transaction. I had to ask her to finish up with me before helping the other person. The other customer starting mumbling under her breath saying I was rude to her even though I was not talking to her. Then she got louder about it. I then had to correct her directly and respectfully which caused her to get all indignant and more mouthy. I then ignored her because she needed to " get the last word in". Then on my way out she decided to scream "Someone needs to pray for him". I stop in my tracks and said " Ma'am I do not need anyone to pray for me because there is no god! " . Then I go to my car and then dude from earlier is out in the parking lot screaming at anyone who is the parking lot. This place is not worth the hassle for a poor selection of men's clothing and household items. read more
