This review is only about the donation experience. I know a lot of people have their own personal reasons why they choose not to donate to Goodwill. Personally, sometimes I just need to get stuff out of my house as soon as I can. Some other locations require an appointment or aren't always accepting certain items. I try to be a community conscious donor and I don't just give the Goodwill my trash. I would encourage others to do the same. They're open seven days a week and their hours for donations are nearly all the hours that I might feel inspired to take something out of my house to give away. This Good will is near the Elk Grove Regional Park and I've driven past it many times while on the 99 or going parallel to the freeway along E Stockton Blvd to get to the park or another establishment. But I've only been here maybe once or twice before. As usual, I checked out the books and DVDs section more mainly but didn't find anything this time. Pretty limited selection and really nothing that's worth taking home, lots of duds from the past so doubly duddy. They had board and card games too, which we like to look for, but nothing good this time either. All in all, pretty humdrum... Pros: - cleaner than other Goodwill stores - bigger and brighter than other Goodwill's - plenty of parking and relatively good lot - fun just to browse if you have time and might find some things Cons: - prices aren't so "goodwill" anymore, but that seems to be the case across the board at charity thriftstores esp. "questionablewill" stores, ha! - they had quite a few large bins out for stocking and didn't seem to be in any hurry to organize and stock so those were just blocking access to several aisles and also getting in the way along a main path. Tip: - once a week a certain color tags get 50% off, so if the stars align, an item could be a good deal. read more

The bathrooms are really nasty. The floors have dark black stains on them and the back of the toilet had something splattered behind it. It's just gross. read more

There's a decent book, DVD, CD, & even have vinyl . I'm surprised there's so many different things that you can find here. it was my first time here, but I was impressed. You really never know what you're gonna find. read more

This Goodwill is good enough! Located by the 99, you can get to this Goodwill from the plaza of Popeyes or on road if you drive past the light to turn into the Popeyes plaza. It's not the easiest turn into the parking lot from the road, but the parking lot has lots of spaces and it's easy to get out of the lot. The store has some effort put into it. It's relatively clean and organized. It's cleaner than other Goodwills I've visited. For its size, the inventory is not huge and expansive, but I appreciate the efforts of displaying outfits. I did not spend a lot of time in the store to fully take in what was in stock, but I was able to grab three stockings, pajama pants with a print of cats in Santa hats, and a large sweater to craft up my own ugly Christmas sweater. It was almost $22. The cashier who rung me up was nice. No complaints. I'd visit this Goodwill again if I ever need to gather project materials. read more

Very large store with a lot of accessories and household goods. Selection for women's clothing is vast, but contains a lot of Shein, Forever 21, H&M. No big designer finds here. They do have a pretty decent selection of records, which was cool to see, and the shoe racks are always filled up. Goodwill really shows out in October with their costume selection and this one definitely didn't disappoint. I appreciate that they are broken up by type of costume - decades, vampires, ghosts and witches, etc. You could definitely find your Halloween costume here at a bargain price. This is my second time being here, and I walked away with nothing again. I won't be back but I will check out some of the other Goodwills in the area. read more

We've shopped here a few times. We mostly drop off more than we've shopped. This location has been here for quite few years now, but it is their newish location for the metro area. It's like any other Goodwill store. They offer men's clothing, women's clothing, children's clothing, household supplies, books, small appliances/electronics, shoes, toys, and more. Basically, it all depends on the donations!!! Sometimes you'll score big and sometimes it will be just a window shopping day!! We've had great luck in running into friendly staff. The store is mostly organized. Sometimes you'll run behind a crazy busy day and things are unorganized. Overall, this is my favorite for the area. We drop off about every other month. read more

I've only dropped off here, but it's always a really quick & great experience. Pulling up on the side, there's always someone either waiting outside or comes out as you pull up with a massive bin to put your donations. Every time they have been friendly. Sometimes there's a line to donate, but it's generally pretty fast. They'll take bags, but not bins. You can bring things in bins and just dump what you have into their bins, which makes it easy. My only complaint is that I brought a LOT of practically brand new beanie babies and great quality stuffed animals, and he brought out a bin with old looking musty shoes and told me to dump all of them on top. I felt bad as these stuffed animals and toys had been cleaned. Didn't like that they'd be with some grimy shoes :/ Otherwise, great location to donate. read more

This was a small Goodwill. But it did have items of value. This was a good place to stop and see what the local area has to offer.

"I am extremely disappointed and embarrassed by the way I was treated by the management at this location. I came in to do a simple exchange for items under $25. The cashier verified that the tags matched my receipt perfectly. However, when she called the manager to finalize it, the tone completely changed. The manager immediately treated me with suspicion, asking if I had removed and replaced the tags myself. Despite me explaining that I followed their policy to keep the tags on,. I was left standing at the register for 15 minutes in front of other customers. When she returned with another employee, she simply stated that the tags look like switch and that the exchange can't be done and walked away without further explanation, leaving me standing there in shock and ignored is unprofessional and insulting. To be accused of switching tags on thrift store clothes. Come on!!!! It wasn't about the money or clothes ; it was about the lack of respect and the public embarrassment. Went by there today looking for a shirt for a project. Prices are ok store is clean, shelves are full, employees are friendly. I was surprised they checked 5's for counterfeit but never know. All and all I got what I needed. read more

We always find the kindest people here when dropping off our donations. They have a slick new receipt available for those needing a little documentation for tax time. The drop off line can be hit or miss. We like to get there mid morning to avoid the weekend log jams. One of the better stores for miles around. Clean and organized. All staff members are nice and helpful. Decent stuff but man, the pricing for housewares/pots pans, etc, are priced ridiculously high. I rather buy new at the retails stores and get a brand new pan without any scratches for extra $10 bucks. Their used Pyrex dish wares were more expensive than Etsy or eBay. The other close by goodwill had the same item and was price for 40% less. I don't know what these people are thinking. I won't be going to this location anymore unless I need furniture since that was reasonably priced. read more

Recently completely got rid of their dressing rooms and only have a few full length mirrors in the store to try and try on clothes over your actual clothes... glasswares here are overpriced but they are one of the few goodwills in Elk Grove with cds/dvds! read more

I came by to drop off some donations yesterday and I like that it's a "drive thru." There were quite a few cars in front of me but I saw the worker hustling so atleast I knew they were trying and just really busy. The process was pretty simple. Drive up, hand them your bags of donated items and collect a receipt if you need one or just be on your happy way. Lol FYI, They don't take pillows! read more

Always my go to goodwill, even though I live 45 minutes away. Friendly staff, clean store and bathrooms and lots of great clothing etc. They recently took out the fitting rooms, so I will no longer be shopping here. Not worth my gas money to drive back within 7 days to return as I usually only drive that way once a month. It's a shame, many of us love to recycle clothing but I am one who one size doesn't fit all!! I never came out w/out at least $50 or more worth of clothes. Bring back the fitting rooms please. Recently this location has taken out their dressing rooms saying due to growing trend. All other stores have them, Walmart, Target, Ross. Even Amazon let's you return after purchase without the hassle. Taking several items home to have to drive back and having to always find something for the money I have spent is inconvenient. I went to purchase a toy bin for my daughter, as I've been looking for one for a while. I brought it up to the register, excited about my find, and the cashier told me it wasn't for sale because someone in the store had the sticker. Since I couldn't find one on it, she refused to sell it to me and instead argued with me because I wanted to know why it was on the floor if it was supposedly sold. They weren't sure and were unwilling to sell a product someone was ready to purchase. If you can't buy something because a sticker isn't on it, then if that so-called item is listed as sold, you should have that person take it to their vehicle, not keep it displayed on the floor. read more

This is one of the larger and cleaner Goodwill's that I frequent whenever I am in the Sacramento/ Elk Grove area. The employees are usually very friendly and management is too. Pricing here has gone way up, but bargains can be found. You can also speak with the management and negotiate if you are a haggler. I can't say that they will always discount an item, but they have worked with me on many occasions. I always walk away happy from here. They are easy to get to right off the 99 freeway. Their books are relatively organized and they have a good selection. The books are in a good condition. The book selection is much bigger than the other goodwill on West Stockton Blvd. But this Goodwill didn't have as big of a board game or puzzles selection. read more
