I came looking for practice books and was able to locate the book section quickly. They labeled the shelves so I was able to focus on the genre I was looking for. They had a nice variety of books to peruse from and they were all quite cheap. Ranging from $1-2 per book, what a steal. I got 3 large practice books for $4.98, and the cashier was very friendly and helpful during my checkout. Large parking lot so no issue with that. read more

Hmm I didn't review this. I went on a rainy day because it was the closest thrift store to me at the moment. Selections not great to be honest. Prices are still average. I always find cool stuff but it definitely was lots of digging for little yield. Wouldn't aim to come here on purpose. I just needed to finish some Christmas shopping basically. It worked. Four stars for the employees who apparently have to deal with homeless people and thieves and combos thereof. There's no action they can take anymore sadly. Hope that changes soon. read more

Do they provide random drug testing for the employees? I think the manager must be smoking crack when they start pricing the items! Clothing-The items are dirty and have an odor. Why go to Goodwill when you could buy the same identical outfit at Ross brand new without the odor? It makes no sense! Restroom-They can't make up their mind. One day you have the restroom locked. The following week, you don't need a key? Use common sense! You could have 1 employee multitask by organizing the toy aisle and unlocking the restroom. Pricing brand new items. You don't have a lot of overhead? All the items are donated by the community. They donate stuff to Goodwill due to the kindness of their hearts and that's how you repay them? I saw an item which was from the Dollar Tree and they priced it close to double! If this continues, you are going to lose a lot of business. You could go to other online websites to get it cheaper like Amazon, eBay, Offerup and etc. Way cheaper! This is getting out of hand! read more

I mean diwali is what's next to celebrate. . I was on a hunt to go for a nice Indian outfit but on a budget. When I came into goodwill I saw that they had my size and the color, it was a no Brainer to cop it and call it a day! . I can not wait to wear it for my diwali dinner. The dinner is going to be a fancy lit up with fairy lights in the dark outdoor table. Yes ita going to be cold but then some alcohol to pair with food we are going to be warm ;) anyways will have to model the outfit for yelp. . This store has a big parking lot so it's easy to find parking here. . The store is big and has a pretty nice selection to pick and choose. . I like going to the men's section most times because I have got some nice costume outfits for different events. . I like the home and decor section as well. I like finding nice dinner ware plates and nice drink wares. . Overall if you have a chance to be in the area don't forget to come check this place out. Do NOT go here!! I used to go here a couple times a week. Now, this place is super ghetto and honestly not enjoyable to be in at all. It's dirty, unorganized and full of horrible people. While trying to park I had to relocate across the parking lot because there was a group of people very obviously leering and hanging out in the open parking spots, to the point that my mother wanted to leave before even going in. Now, we go fairly often and love supporting their various charitable foundations as well as their wonderful staff but it's just gotten so unpleasant that neither of us want to go back; it doesn't feel safe and things are stolen right out of your cart. Go to a different Goodwill or something else, save yourself the time and anger. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. I have been harassed by multiple people at this location and this was the last straw. I came in today to donate and the person standing there was named Falcon. He harassed me and told me I had to back my car in, in order to donate. There was no sign saying I had to back my car in to the spot neither did the person in front of me do that and he was treated much better than me. I asked him if he could just wheel the yellow car to my car which was 5 feet away he said no. He said he could not help me unless I backed in. This seemed very strange and made me super uncomfortable. I felt like this wasn't safe at all of him to ask me. I then proceeded to carry my stuff over instead. He said He has to search all of my stuff. I have never been asked to be searched for my stuff and I NEVER donate anything less than what I would buy from a thrift store. I have, in all my years of donating and buying from goodwill ever been made to feel so terrible, uncomfortable, and nervous. I will never return to this location and will tell everyone I know to never come to this location because of Falcon. Bro, this is one of the worst good wheels you will ever go to in your life. It's not cheap like the outlet and it doesn't have any good fines like the other stores, there's absolutely nothing super about it. It is in the sketchiness to many mall and the people that go there are very very strange. Watch your car but better yet don't go here at all. I had heard that Wednesday and Thursday seem to be the best days for truck deliveries with donated furniture. My ongoing search for a used bookshelf led me here today, in addition to the fact that my home seems to be getting too cluttered with books and is slowly morphing into a fire hazard. I have been looking for bookshelves at antique stores and thrift stores for quite a while. And I am not interested in a pressed particle board book shelf with a glued on fake wood veneer, or a brand new book shelf from IKEA. I am looking for a book shelf that is gently used, eclectic and is the perfect "flea market" find. The Goodwill Super store on Florin Road has a good sized furniture department. What you will see: When you walk through the front entrance you will notice a large glass counter with a wrap around display case. This is were the "high value" items are. In the display case there was an abundance of vintage costume jewelery, a variety of vases, some carnival glass figurines, and other trinkets here. Behind the display I noticed several isle end caps with more jewelery. Naturally, I made a bee line to this area as any girl would. There were bracelets, necklaces, charms, Puka shells, and lots of really fun beaded stuff. I found 2 Puka shell necklaces and 1 beaded necklace. All three cost a whopping $6.00 . next to the jewelers were displays of scarves, and racks upon racks of blouses (many new with tags still on), Jeans, sweaters, and skirts. This store has so much stuff, one could spend at least a couple of hours shopping here. Again, I somehow became distracted as I meandered to the book section. I was amazed at the variety of books. They were so inexpensive. I bought several NY Times bestsellers for $1.99 each. Have I died and gone to heaven?!! The book section has at least 4 isles of books. And the surrounding walls also have shelves and shelves of beautiful books! Unfortunately, I never made it back to the furniture department. I became so engrossed in all the books that I simply lost track of time and why I came to the Goodwill super store in the first place. Due to Covid they are only accepting donations from 10-3pm we arrived at 2:58 and a gentleman started to help us unload our full truck then the assistant manager Kristin came said they are closed. I said we got here before 3pm and she said yeah but it was 3 now and they are closing. I said but your sign says 3pm and we were at the unload area at 2:58 and now it was 3pm but we were here before 3. She didn't care and refused to give me her boss info and number. I could understand if i got there after 3pm but I was at the unload area before that. I will just go to Salvation Army and donate to them from now on. It's not like I'm making money off this stuff they are the ones that benefit from donated items. read more

Omg my cashier Jocelyn was the best. I'm a frequent visitor of this location and she's hand down my favorite person here. She's super friendly and genuine which is super rare in customer service jobs these days. I came here for the President's Day 50% sale and it was AMAZEBALLS. I bought three pairs of high heels for $6 each and a couple books that were probably a $1 each. Those were stellar steals since it was 8pm. I thought they'd be out of the good stuff but this location had so many things I was tempted to buy. If you're a regular thrifter, I highly recommend this location. There's a lot of parking spaces and the Goodwill itself is pretty big compared to others. read more

I have donated to this store on many occasions. It is located at the corner of Florin Rd. & Franklin Blvd. Inside the store, it is well maintained and organized. The donation center located at the back of the building has always been easily available for the drop off of old junk that I no longer use or clothing that no longer fit. It's hard for me to admit, but my closet(s) are always filled with clothes to the point that I forget I even have some of them, because they are so tightly packed together! But if I want to buy more clothes, I have to make room for them. Then I have to spend a whole day going through everything. Keep or not to keep? That is the question! Eventually I do find things to part with, but what an ordeal it is. Once, everything is placed into plastic bags or boxes and out of my sight, then that feeling of relief and accomplishment comes over me! Out with the old, in with the new, and hopefully someone out there will benefit from my "good taste" at a cut rate deal. The employees at the donation entrance are right there ready to help with the heavy lifting and unloading. Then you are given a short form to fill out and then a receipt that you can use to claim as a tax deductible donation! The people here are always nice and eager to help. Which makes it easier for me to part with my stuff. The older I get, the less I like clutter. I have a close family member that is a hoarder. Needless to say, I try to avoid being that way at all costs. And on that dreaded day when said loved one passes away, it's nice to know that places like Goodwill are here to help in these situations. Get rid of things you don't use anymore and the less fortunate can afford to buy these items for themselves. All at the same time, the Goodwill stores can offer jobs for people who need work. I rarely shop thriftstores, but since my workplace is close by and a coworker suggested checking it out, I decided to stop by. This Goodwill is really big. It's not a good location but I guess it makes sense to have thrift store in poorer neighborhoods. This one sells used stuff and new items (it kind of has a dollar store section of new goods that are TAXED). I found some pretty good deals on shoes (pretty new Clarks for about $10 a pair), but other than that a lot of the stuff aren't much cheaper than the clearance racks at Ross if you were looking for clothes. Some of the shoes are way overpriced considering that Goodwill gets everything donated so there's some serious profit margins there even if Goodwill is "non-profit." Anyhow, customer service wasn't good. I waited in line for a LONG time b/c the woman in front of me wanted to pay part of her balance in cash and part with her (welfare?) debit card and the manager who was ringing her up couldn't figure it out and messed up and had to start over, etc. etc. I was seriously waiting for just her to check out for about 15-20 minutes... she saw me with my 2 pairs of shoes and proceeded to take her time checking out with her cart load of crap... her total was over $30 for mostly tupperware(?!). Overall, this place maybe good for shoes and that's about it. I would say a lot of items are really over-priced since everything is USED and you can get the same items for the same prices new at Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, DD's, Big Lots, etc. read more

This place is great! I can easily spend hours sifting through their well organized aisles. Today I found some dirt cheap mid-century modern dishes (see photo) and other great things to tastefully fill a first time home buyers home. The book section is pretty darn amazing, too. Like all other Goodwill stores they sell most hardback books for $2.49 and most paperbacks for $1.49 except the organization of this particular location blows the others out of the water. I hope I'm not giving up my secret spot by reviewing this, but this place is too awesome to not give recognition. Plus, the store is huge enough for the both of us. read more

I always find clothes to donate to Goodwill. It's quite easy pulling up into the back and dropping your things off. This is my first time actually shopping here. I don't do thrift shopping as I don't have the patience to go through all the stuff. I wanted to come here for books and board games though. There was a good selection of books. Being that I never buy books as a library patron, I wished some were cheaper. I did find a few board games as well. It took some time to search for ones I wanted. I wanted to make sure they weren't missing any pieces. The line can take a while as only a couple registers were opened. A customer tried to haggle, but save your breath. I have traveled the world and bought $1,500 suits and was treated like royalty. You can't miss the bright read sign that reads "GOODWILL SUPERSTORE" - even thought it sits pretty far back from the street. What makes it a superstore? It's the largest Goodwill in town, and there are great bargains to be had. I went there last week and put together an entire 1920s-themed costume (hat, boa, pearls, and dress) for under $15! Even if you're looking for clothes to wear when you're playing the role of you in the year 2008, there was a shockingly good selection of clothing, with very few items (except some jackets) costing more than $4-5. This is a really large Goodwill location, and maybe that's why this one is always teeming with customers. I've come here 3 or 4 times now and this place is always packed like they're giving away free cash. The store's large size allows lots of merchandise but not much in the way of housekeeping. The store seems kind of dirty (I realize this is splitting hairs at a thrift shop, just sayin'...) and there's generally a bunch of clothes that fell off hangers onto the floor or pieces that someone took off the hanger and wedged back into the rack. This is not really Goodwill's fault, it's just something that happens when you have a ton of customers and not enough floor staff to keep things tidy. I do really like this location's electronic section, though. They have a HUGE aisle of used radios, TV's, phones, etc etc. Plus they even have electrical sockets in the aisle so you can test the pieces. This is super convenient, because I've been to other Goodwills and thrift shops where you have to take the piece up to the counter to test it. read more

After driving around for more than an hour looking for a Goodwill that was still open for donations, I ended up at this location. I'm so happy I did because I was assisted by a wonderful gentleman named Rocky, who had mercy on me even though it was 7:15 and they stop taking donations at 7. He was super nice and helpful. He didn't make me feel like I was inconveniencing him one bit, which I really appreciated being in customer service myself. He was even looking on his phone trying to help me find drop boxes or a Goodwill Express location that might be closer to me for future reference. I really appreciate Rocky and the fact that he went out of his way to take my donations after hours even though I'm sure he had a lot of other work to do. Even the person that answered the phone was so nice and friendly. Such a better experience overall than the Goodwill in West Sacramento which is the closest location to me. They could definitely take a page from this location when it comes to their customer service! read more

2/25/2017 We went into this store to buy my kids a twin set of bed. Got to the toy aisle and toys were everywhere on the ground. I went to look around while hubby was helping the girls picked their toys out. My little girl found a toy from the ground and put it back on the ground where she found it when my husband told them we got to leave. One of the employee lady told the other employee that she wants to beat my two little girl up for making messes( the aisle wasn't even clean and clear of toy to start with when we walk into the store) but she's trying to hold back. My husband heard it and he didn't say anything because he didn't want to cause drama. I would of said something to them if I'm there because she's threaten to beat my kids! First of all goodwill needs to have good employee not child abuse people working there and wants to beat every kids that come by. Second of all don't need to be raciest because I saw white kids throwing toy all over the aisle and the employee was there didn't even say a single word to them. Third of all no need to keep asking for donation when I know for a fact the money don't go to any organization but only free money for the manager and employee!!! True fact!! I used to work for them and it's a scam. I quit because goodwill treat customers like crap either little or no respect at all. This store have rude disrespectful employee. No need to donate any money. Plus no need to donate anything to them. They wouldn't even donate 1 piece of clothes to a homeless person with all the clothes they toss out. The store I used to work for do the same. A guy came in soak wet in the rain do to walking across the country thing he's doing. He asked goodwill for one piece of shirt and pants so he can be on his way. Goodwill manager told him no and to get out since he's wet. The manager told him Togo find it somewhere else. I totally get that if I'm shopping at a Goodwill, it is not Nordstrom and customer service is not going to be stellar, HOWEVER can you tell your employees that treating people like they're constantly in the way is rude as hell?? The worst offender is the one on Florin. If I'm looking for a vintage lamp or something I don't want to have to wait 10 minutes while an employee is putting stuff away with their giant cart. Customers should always come FIRST...they are not a burden on you. I give stuff to Goodwill all the time and I then put money back into the store so hello...get a clue...we are your bread and butter. Stop being so damn rude!! By the way if anyone wants to make a claim that some employees are mentally challenged it is not them who I find to be the rude ones, in fact it's the opposite. Employee was incredibly rude when I went to grab what looked like an available cart. Instead of at least explaining kindly that there was a reserved list (who does that?), she was sarcastic and unbelievable rude. Okay, first off, I have to say the store is rather nicely organized and a pretty decent selection. It doesn't look like a bomb just went off. Secondly though, the manager at the front was helping a couple people in front by answering questions. I almost asked her, "Did you just smell a fart?" because the look on her face was a look of disgust. Well, maybe she did. But she continued with the face for at least 4 minutes. That must've been a lingerer. After she left,while I was waiting for my thrifting boyfriend, I overheard the remaining 2 checkers talk about "hella shit" like their paychecks, getting called into work, etc.. Now I do use profanity sometimes but I don't expect the employees at store to be getting all ghetto while checking people out. Even in Sacramento I have customer service standards. It's Goodwill, I know, but I still expect some common courtesies in any store. The bonus at this location is that there were three vendors selling tasty snacks in the parking lot. I dig treasure hunting in thrift stores, so when I saw the size of this Goodwill on Florin, I wanted to love this place.... but it was gross. My first impression was a dingy, gray (formerly white), bath towel that was duct taped to the floor where a floor mat should have been. Gross. On the bright side, it IS huge - tons of stuff and pretty well organized. I just think you'll definitely want to bathe in hand sanitizer when you leave though. In fact, lather that stuff on the bottom of your shoe, you know, where you stepped on that disgusting, gray towel. read more

This has now become my favorite GW in the sac area. I shop them all regularly and tell you why this one stand above the rest. It is one of largest so it is not cramped. They keep it clean. People are smart and friendly. The prices are the best comparitively. I never picked up anything that I felt was overpriced as I usually do when I go to any thrift store. Got some great deals. Best of all, they are organized and fully staffed. Went on 50% off Columbus sale day yesterday and the line went through quick. So quick that we were willing to stand in it twice. They have 4-5 registers and someone directing traffic quite well. Also had another who did Cart lists but was very efficient. Then the cherry on top is those delish street tacos that is sold out front. I learned that they have a taqueria in that strip mall. The smell is intoxicating, the taste is out of this world, and they are only a buck a piece! Had the best trip here and will now make add it to my usual visits eventhough I live in Roseville. read more

This Goodwill I think has the absolute largest selection of books out of all the goodwill locations in Sacramento. I really love finding out of print hardcovers here. That's a pretty big section on theology as well. And they don't just have Christian religions they also have eastern religions as well as pagan so that's kind of interesting. There's also a pretty big selection on old textbooks. Not that I have much use for them but if you are into that, this would be the place to check those out. The store also has a pretty big selection of new items that are very odd but are mildly interesting. I also like the selection of board games and puzzles. I like to use them for the agency that I volunteer at. read more
