Great prices, fantastic inventory, lots of 'labels' and revolving color coded discount days.

Eco Thrift is huge and they have there own private parking lot which is really nice. They are located right off the 99 and you can see it from the freeway. When you walk in there is a sign on the door that says if an item doesn't have a tag then you can't buy it. And there is a security guard at the front door. I found lots of good deals. The most expensive item I bought was a winter coat for $17.23. It was in a size small and it fit perfect. It has a mickey mouse motif and mickey ears attached. I found a Las Vegas Raiders jersey, boys XL, which fit me perfect $12.92. It was new with out tags. I also found a SF Giants T Shirt that looked new. I found some other black tops, long and short sleeve. I found the cutest red minnie mouse sweatshirt but it was too short, too back because it was perfect. They also have lots of more expensive items mixed in. Such as Kings and Giants Jerseys. All well over $35. Compared to the teams stores it's still a good deal, but out of my price range for this shopping spree. These items are cheaper at the Goodwill Bootique in downtown Sacramento. I know because I've purchased several jerseys there. Everything is well organized by size and type of merchandise. They have long racks of clothing and a good variety of sizes. They have a rack of short sleeve tops, another rack of long sleeve tops, dresses, formal dresses, jackets, athletic tops, ect. Everything is so well sorted. They have colored tags on the merchandise. Each day they have different sales depending on the color of the tags 25%, 50%, and 75%. I only had a couple of the 25% off items. For those 2 items I saved $5.07. So for 5 items I paid $46.31. On average $9.26 each. Not a bad day Thrifting. Checkout is all self-serve. It's quite odd, but they have a lot of registers and someone helping out. They graciously took my coat and found a tag on it without me asking, which was great because I didn't even see it. I did see it on the Raiders jersey I bought and they removed that after I scanned it in to pay for it. They also have some new merchandise by the entrance of the store, those are not so good deals. read more

I really liked my first visit here at this eco thrift. Mainly based on the selection of items that I was looking for and was able to find. Spent about a good hour here. Busy, frequent visited location that had security standing at the front door. You can find new , used and gently used items of all sorts here. Once I was done with my shopping I waited in line for less than 5 minutes and reached a self check out option only. Bags are not automatically provided. I just neatly folded my items and placed receipt on top. If I recall there was music overhead. Prices are of each range affordable to moderate again with some items brand new if you search long enough. The parking lot is pretty large, as well as the potholes around the lot as well. Overall pretty organized for a thrift. I know I will return soon one day. I like to search for good finds read more

Love the size of the place, always good stuff BUT. So over priced for handy downs. Like ive seen popular brands at Ross or dds, brand new at that, less than a used item at this thift store. Ridiculous. Youre set up in a low income area who family depend on a decent price item but got ebay prices. Female cashier physically grabbing item out of kid's hands when they asked about a price. Accused kid of ripping off tag because "it's a designer brand." Telling kid if they give the two female cashiers 150.00 cash they can have the shirt. Looks like they kept shirt for themselves. The kid didn't even know what it was, got upset about being accused and they threatened to call the police because they were defending themselves from rude employees! It was disrespectful behavior from the two female cashiers. The kid still purchased items they didn't take. They treated the kid horribly. Is this what your company allows? This used to be a weekly stop for my, my absolute favorite thrift store but they have raised the prices to be the same as buying new at Macys. More than inflation, even more than price gouging, it's insane!!!! read more

I've been going to ecothrift since 2015... things have changed immensely and it's extremely disappointing. A thrift store should be just that! Thrift prices that are realistic for the community. I do not want to thrift and be looking at price tags over 15$. Name brand, new with tags, or not, items are donated and should not be marked up to retail price or even a fraction of it! This thrift store is usually busy, so pushing consumers to buy clothing at a high price is just unfair and unrealistic especially when they are guaranteed to be making money. Checked out a knife from the glass case. The tag said $24.99 and it was a pretty beat up knife but I thought it was cool. Told the front I was going to buy it walked around some more. When I came back to pay for it the same lady that helped me said" oh this is the wrong price someone must have changed it and said it was actually $104. Under California law you are not allowed to change the price on something last minute. I will not be coming back to this franchise ever again and i recommend you don't ether this is ridiculous to want to charge 104$ for an old knife that has been used to the point where the blade is a complete different shape from when it was first produced read more

Bought 11 DVD's. Went home to watch them and 8 of them do not work. It says to check "regional code". Looked it up and it's because those DVDs that I bought, are from South Africa? Called to see about the return policy because they don't work. I spoke with the manager Eva, who by the way is not professional. She said everything is final and can't return. I said even if your product isn't working? She said "well didn't you see if it worked before you bought it? You have to check to see if it's in good condition first" I said well how am I supposed to know if the DVDs worked before buying them when there's no DVD player to put them in before buying? It's a thrift store. Their prices vary from reasonable to ridiculous. I found an old rotary phone for $3 and it was half off (so only $1.50). The registers are all self-check out with a person standing nearby to help if needed. They don't sell books... Their parking lot is rough. It's bumpy and the parking lot lines need to be redone. This has to be the WORST thrift store i've ever been to. The stuff was SO EXPENSIVE like crappy nike run shorts were 9.99? Random fleece lined leggings were SIXTY DOLLARS?? ? AND they make you scan it yourself, it's self checkout!! What the hell? and the security guy had a GUN like a real gun. Expensive for donated items. Better to buy new than used. Not sure how this business is still in business. Definitely a scam to me or people just assume it's a thrift store so it's cheaper....NOT! The color coding sale is just to to fool people since they jack up the price inorder to give such a sale... Some items are nice once in a blue moon...but even so, it better just to pay 20-30% extra to get it brand new and have your mind at ease when buying appliances and it guarantees to work. This is my store y'all. I never leave empty handed, the staff is always super helpful and they always have great music playing every time I'm there. The prices are awesome. I had a horrible experience at the store. I found a purse with no price tag and asked one of the cashiers how much it cost. She took the purse from me, threw it on the floor, and said, "If you would like to buy this purse, you can come back on Monday when we will put a price tag on it." I had simply asked her to put a price on it so I could purchase it, but she still refused to help me. The staff member was very rude and disrespectful. She singled me out in front of the other customers and said, "This person is trying to purchase this purse. Do not let her buy it because it doesn't have a price tag. She can come on Monday and buy it if she really wants it. -will not be returning here. read more

I love to thrift and this is one of the biggest stores we have in Sac! It's organized, well staffed and cleaner than most thrift stores. Unfortunately thrifting became "popular" and the higher ups at Eco thrift got super greedy! The prices are no longer reasonable , they literally get the items for FREE the mark up is CRAZY! Like I've literally seen dollar tree items prices higher. All in all I will still go there bc I love the hunt and find of a good thrifted item. This place was awful, I have a disabled grandson and found the perfect wheelchair slash walker that would help him relearn to walk, it was exactly what he needed and because someone tore off the tag they refused to put another tag on it and basically told us to bad they would not help or offer to call someone who could price it. It was an awful experience. Then in the parking lot two cars blocked us leaving for 15 min when all we asked was if they could back up so we could leave. I am going to tell everyone about the rude uncaring people who run this place. The only good person was the security guard who finally made the cars blocking us move. read more

I used to go here a lot 10 years ago when I was in college and found such great deals. But now that I've come back post covid, the prices have gone way too overboard. This place is not what it used to be. The items here are priced way too high, even clothing like SHEIN I found are priced about the same as original and SHEIN is not even good quality. Super disappointed with how this thrift store is now. There may be a wide selection as it's big but nowadays it's better to go to an alternative thrift store like Deseret Indistries for better prices. I don't recommend this place. I think this place is a scam. I saw a monitor for sale and understood that there's no refunds, all sales are final. I wanted to test the monitor before I left and I ask for the parts, all but the power cord. I asked her if they test the items first before selling. She said yes that all stuff works and that they recommend for customer to test them, she looks over to an employee and they both giggled. First off sus. I ask if I can find the cord and she told me it's all in the back. It was a bunch of them so I couldn't find them. I trusted that she said they do test them out first, but I was wrong when I got home I tested it out with my power cord and the screen was completely cracked. My absolute FAVORITE thrift store in the Sacramento area! Eco thrift is aka "eco mall" and there is a very good reason for it. This spot is giant and offers so much. You can find anything from cameras, blankets, toys, house decor, movies, to clothes, and more. I love how affordable the prices are (although I've noticed they've increased a bit in the last few years). They have rotating sales everyday, depending on the color tag an item is. You can really find some gems on a budget here. The staff is always friendly too. Definitely visit with a comfy outfit on because you can easily spend hours here! read more

Alright. Visited 4 more times since my last review. Prices are still insane. Adding more photos. They get this stuff for free guys. It's donated. This is gross. Unethical. Greedy. This last time (my fifth) I didn't even find anything. Even the run of the mill stuff was overpriced at 6-7 bucks. Unless damaged. The. It would be about $5. No more. My family and I been thrifting for years. And thrifting at this Eco location since it opened. Not anymore. We are all out! The resellers and out of towners can keep it... shame. read more

Love this thrift store I always find something I need here the store is always neat and organized

The largest Eco Thrift location. Well organized and friendly employees. However, the prices seem ridiculous for a thrift store (light jackets for $25, sweaters for $40, etc.) There are deals to be had if you're willing to dig and can catch some color tag discounts. I prefer the Hayward and Citrus Heights locations. Also I know some people complained in these reviews, but I don't mind self check out as it moves everything along and the staff helps you bag items if you like. read more

The service here is terrible and there is this one lady in particular who is so rude, I bought these four cups that were stacked on top of each other. They seemed perfectly normal until I got to the third cup it was riddled with cockroaches and I threw the cup away instantly, someone there had to have stacked the cups that way because there is no explanation to how the cockroaches got in there! read more

I looooove coming to this Ecothrift! It's pretty big and has so much stuff to look at. I could spend hours here just browsing around. I came thrifting here on a Friday morning and it was pretty busy. I feel like this store is never NOT busy so just be prepared to have people be in your way all the time. The store is very organized, they organize by size and by style of clothing as well which is great when looking around. The pricing is kind of expensive but it's nice because they have daily deals that are color coded. Eco Thrift Sacramento Highlights: rude employees, only self check out. We were so excited to hear about this store from a fellow thrifter. Unfortunately, the first time we were in the store rude associates couldn't be bothered to answer a simple question about the colors of the day. (There is no need for attitude. Period!) Basically they have 3 colors of the day: 25%, 50%, and 75% off. Another customer told me if you want to find 75% off you have to go early Wednesday morning. The colors are posted all around the store. Don't ask an employee to point one out, they will bite your head off! We have been there a few times since and found some good items. The security guard is always nice and friendly. However, our last visit will probably be our last. The owners decided to make it self check out only!! So, a bunch of employees stand around watching you to make sure you aren't going to steal crap, but again, they cannot be bothered to answer a question or help at the register, when it isn't working correctly. What a crock of crap! Sorry, but we have other places to go where we will be treated a lot nicer. The self check out only idea was a BIG mistake. HUGE! read more

This is my favorite thrift store in the area I love to come here the selection is great and the prices used to be very reasonable! The last few times I have been everything I've picked up has been between $ 15 and $40 which I think is ridiculous for a freely donated item! I got three things that I love tonight but feel not good about the purchase purchasing that I spent $65! read more

Been coming here, and the other location in Sac, for years!! prices gone up too much but I come often and get the stuff (colored tags) that are on sale and get great deals. Huge store, I believe the 2 locations in Sacramento are the biggest around. And they stay busy so best to go early on week days if possible. read more

I used to love love LOVE ecothrift. I'd always find what I needed and stuff I didn't know I needed all at great prices. They closed their fitting rooms during the pandemic and never reopened them. A couple times I've gone and tried on t-shirts over my own tank top which worked fine, but you can't do that with pants or dresses. And they aren't open on Sundays anymore which of course I always forget. I still shop there but significantly lower my expectations that I'll get a great deal on something. read more

This is one of the largest thrift stores I've been to in Sacramento. Apparently they were the old thrift shop on Fruitridge road and now located where the old Toys "R" Us used to be on Florin. Anyhow, I really like how big this place is; there's a huge selection and most of all the fact that there is always a color on either 25%, 50% or 75% off. They do also have regular sales during the holidays which they never do at any other thrift stores & I just started coming here for that reason. They're having 50% off for Labor Day on the whole store. The vintage is in its own area. Some of it is extremely overpriced but if you can get it on a sale day, it's definitely the best place to find authentic vintage from the 50s 60s and 70s; I'll be visiting here more often to see what I can find. My only complaint is that the cashiers just stand around while you ring yourself up and they have a "taxes and 'fees'" charge on each item you purchase which maybe is to cover the fact you're ringing yourself up while paid employees stand there and watch lol. I'd really like to know what the "fees" charge is specifically for because from my understanding all items are donated meaning the company doesn't pay for its secondhand inventory. Other than that, The best part is there's always employees on the floor straightening racks which makes for a very clean and organized shopping experience.
