I had an awful experience at the Goodwill in St. Louis Park. I tried to exchange two pairs of jeans with my receipt, but the cashier refused because they didn't have tags--even though I had done the same kind of exchange just the day before at this exact store with no issue. This same employee had also previously misinformed me about their payment system, saying swipes weren't accepted (they were). He was rude, inflexible, and dismissive. I'm on the autism spectrum (mild Asperger's) and spent over 90 minutes carefully picking out replacements. The emotional effort, combined with driving in from Minneapolis (because they have no fitting rooms), made this whole thing exhausting. Goodwill's inconsistent policies and poorly trained staff are making it harder for neurodivergent people to shop with dignity. Very disappointing from an organization that claims to support inclusion and community. read more

Wow this store has good stock. They must get good donations. Again, small parking lot. Huge LA fitness next door. I did find a raised feeding dog bowl set new for $8.99, MTV board shorts for $4.99 and this gorgeous Party light cut glass vase which was sparkly. I didn't need but it was beautiful. Thinking I could put my lego flowers in it. Again, no fitting room. Nice donations here compared to Hopkins store. read more

This goodwill and I have seen hundreds of days together. The staff is polite, helpful and very diverse. I have wonderful interactions with them every time. I could not say one bad thing about any staff member. The only thing that does get me is the sometimes gauged prices. I am willing to pay you money for things you got for free so $15-20 for shoes and purses and used lululemon does not seem reasonable always but sometimes I do splurge. I can resell certain items to my friends for a profit so I do that on occasion but you really have to hunt the whole store. I found an adorable Clawdeen doll with most of her accessories for a fair price of $3.99 and I don't know if I'll be able to part with her now I spent a couple hours doing her hair in little curlers and trimming away some of the long gone rats nest Anyways, this is a great thrift store just look out for the prices that are too high & other customers they can be a bit rude but that is the world these days. read more

Between an impending return to the office and my semiannual closet review, it became quite apparent that I needed some new clothes. A quick stop at the mall and glance at some price tags made just as apparent the fact that new clothes are expensive. Solution? My local Goodwill. I like this location because it's very convenient for me, and it's also quite well-lit. I wandered the aisles and filled my cart, but quickly discovered that this location has done away with the fitting rooms (not temporarily closed--the entire structure is gone). Another woman and I were trying things on in front of the two full-length mirrors likely set out for this purpose, but without being able to actually try on for fit, it felt like a bit of a gamble to put anything into the "yes" pile. I did try a few things on over my sweater, but I wish I'd known in advance that I should wear a tank top underneath. If I'd been able to try things on, this place probably would have had another star. It's not fancy, and you might not find anything, but the selection is good and the prices are great. Next time I will be better prepared. Edited to add: super easy to exchange! While you can't get a refund, it's very easy to swap out something that didn't work out. As long as the tags are on and you have the receipt, it's very painless. I think there's a time limit, but I came back the same day. (Ladies: wear leggings and a camisole under your clothes, and you can get a much better sense of how things fit. Guys: sorry, can't help you! I think men's sizing is a bit more consistent, though, so hopefully it's easy to predict what will fit.) read more

This place was very low on items. A lot of the racks had so many gaps from the lack of items placed. I did find four pairs of jeans but as we all know jeans are not always accurate in size because of the material. There are no fitting rooms and the return policy is exchanges only! This sucks because I have to go all the way home to try them on, and if they don't fit I can only exchange them for something else that I might not even find worth exchanging for. read more

This location is getting worse and worse with price and selection - the clearance section at optiz down the street has cheaper clothes. Who ever is pricing must not consider that just because the garment has a tag attached that says $50 or $70, doesn't mean someone didn't buy it on sale or clearance for at least half that price - cheaper than they are pricing them now. Ah, Goodwill. A haven of treasures and cast-offs, of unexpected discoveries and missed opportunities. And yet, amidst the clutter and the kitsch, there are gems to be found. And in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, there is a man who knows how to find them. I speak, of course, of Daniel with the mullet. A man whose hair defies gravity and whose eye for bargains is unparalleled. I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel on a recent visit to the Goodwill store in St. Louis Park, and let me tell you, dear reader, he is a force to be reckoned with. As I made my way through the racks of clothing, half-heartedly scanning for anything that might catch my eye, I heard a voice calling out from the other side of the store. "Hey there! You looking for anything in particular?" I turned to see a man with a mullet that would make Billy Ray Cyrus weep with envy. He wore a faded denim jacket and a pair of sunglasses that looked like they had been plucked straight from the set of Top Gun. "Just browsing," I said, trying not to stare at his hair. "Well, if you're looking for something good, you gotta come see me," he said, beckoning me over to a corner of the store that I had not yet explored. "I got some real treasures back here." And so I followed him, feeling like I was being led into some secret underground lair. And there, among the old VHS tapes and the stacks of vinyl records, were the treasures he had promised. A vintage leather jacket, perfectly worn in. A pair of cowboy boots that looked like they had seen more rodeos than I could count. And, best of all, a copy of the collected works of George Orwell, all for the low, low price of five dollars. Daniel regaled me with stories of his finds, of the time he stumbled upon a rare Beatles album in a dusty corner of the store, or the time he found a vintage Pepsi sign at a garage sale for next to nothing. He had a passion for the hunt, for the thrill of discovering something unexpected. And as I made my way to the checkout counter, clutching my copy of Orwell and feeling like I had just been initiated into a secret society of thrift store aficionados, I couldn't help but think that Goodwill was a little brighter, a little more magical, with Daniel in it. read more

I have officially jumped on the thrifting train and I never want to go back to another mall! I came to this Goodwill on a whim since I kept driving past it without actually checking it out. I'm so glad I stopped that first time because I've been here multiple times since! They really do have tons of new items placed out each day - I've noticed a ton of name brand and vintage items. I can find some trusty Levi's here as well as tons of Nike, Adidas, and other high end brands. I love the fact that everything is hung up as it makes it way easier to browse. I will say that on some days I don't always see the same organization in the home goods area. It is a little harder to browse through that area since things seem to be moved around on shelves and a bit more unorganized. All in all, I LOVE this Goodwill and I will definitely be visiting more! read more

Whoever is doing the pricing here is insane. This is supposed to be second hand things. Not selling things for full or above price. Sometimes you can find ok deals. But most of the time I am SHOCKED at what they price SECOND HAND items at. This is a thrift shop not a full price retail store!!! Don't go here or donate here. Support other thrift shops. This Goodwill is just terrible, for many reasons. The volume of items they have is always very low and the prices are just insane. Today I saw a Biden Harris campaign yard sign for 5.99 and a pair of Sperry's for 49.99. Prices have gone up a lot. No dressing rooms, so shopping for clothes is dicey. If you return something, you have to get something of the same or higher value. It's inefficient. Finding a new item at the same or higher price can be time consuming. On the plus side, the staff is nice and parking is ample. read more

I spent a little over a year working to clean out my dad's hoarded house. I would say the vast majority of what we pulled out was damaged beyond being worth anything to anyone. We filled a 10, 20, and 30-yard dumpster and countless garbage bins. Nonetheless, a lot of items were still salvageable and I didn't want them going to waste, so I was bringing them to the Hopkins location for about 9 months before I was made aware that one opened up in St. Louis Park. My friend jokes that I donated so many things that they had to expand. I ended up bringing most of the stereos, clothing, toys, furniture and knickknacks that I knew weren't worth my time to try and sell to this spot for another 6 months. I found the employees to be much more friendly here and there was rarely anyone in front of me in the drop-off line. A couple weeks ago was the first time I actually set foot in the store. I needed to meet with some people while closing for my dad's house and I had forgotten to pack any presentable clothing for such an event. They had a decent selection of dresses, skirts and shirts, and I also found that they carried what appeared to be overstock household items. They had a bunch of the regular things you'd expect to find at a Goodwill and surprisingly had an auction going on with a valuable, collectible, vintage toy fire truck and a typewriter. read more

Unfortunately this goodwill is priced MUCH higher than all the others in the area. I found a camelbak Water Backpack and they were charging more than Camelbaks website for that model. I hope management sees this. You guys get very good inventory but need to evaluate pricing. You are not a typical retail store so shouldn't be charging as such. You offer an exchange policy other retailers offer returns for money back. Other stores present sold items in a nice clean branded bag. I have gotten my purchased items in a trash bag before from goodwill. The list of reasons can go on and on for why goodwill shouldn't charge top dollar for goods. But I've spent thousands of dollars at this location and won't be back for a while. Hope to see less 59.99 pricing when I return. read more

Honestly, I am tired of coming to Goodwill and seeing donated new items that are just as expensive as the store that donated them. Something doesn't seem right here. And I just got done at Menard's and I bought a bunch of brand new storage containers for less then what they are selling the used containers at this location. From a former Goodwill Employee. Bad place to donate. Go to Arc, Unique or Salvation Army. You're really just giving them free stuff for them to resell at a severely marked up profit (aka the biggest pyramid scheme ever), and it's not even GOOD STUFF!! They send all the GOOD STUFF to their online store where they can fetch big $, and leave the trashy stuff here to sell for pennies on the dollar. Oh and why even try to sell Target stuff here & overcharge for brand new furniture & the like?There's a Target right across the street, you could go there and buy all your Target stuff there and probably find it much cheaper! Because Target items at goodwill are red tag items, they hardly ever move, & that's partially because they are Hardly EVER discounted! When you get a 25% off coupon in the donation line, most people think it's valid on everything, but NOPE! It excludes Red,white and black tags which hardly ever go on sale. Black tags IIRC are holiday merchandise, white tags are food/drinks, and red tags is Target. Why they're not included don't ask me. read more

I shop quite a few Goodwill locations and really like this one. The staff that I've interacted with are really pleasant. My only complaint is the pricing of a select group of name brands that the Goodwills in this area must have flagged. The Goodwills in this area are already on the high end of the different regions I've shopped, but there is an ecosystem of retail shopping and having donation based store try to cross over into semi full retail pricing is really frustrating and discouraging. Your customers are coming to you out of a certain need and seeing sky high (for thrift store) pricing for Columbia, Northface, Athleta, LuluLemon, etc feels greedy. I have to wonder who is really paying $70+ for a dress they dug out of the racks at Goodwill just because it has tags still attached. read more

Things are erratically priced--that's usual for a thrift store--but here they prices seem to be getting higher and higher--some things from Ikea are priced MORE expensive than new. Where do these people get off pricing donated items at near full price? Worn down shoes for $20, a decent desk for $40, name brand clothing anywhere from $10-$30.... It's criminal! Also, the workers at this specific Goodwill are incredibly rude and will guilt you for not rounding up your total to "help put people back to work..." I know better than that. 10% probably actually goes towards that cause and the rest goes into the companies pockets. I had one guy ask me if I wanted to round up to $5, I said no, and he laughed and said, "there's a lot you can do with 72 cents huh?" Take your money somewhere else. read more

This goodwill is hardly thrifty, with absurdly high prices on name brand items. Even the least desirable clothes are overpriced. They would turn over more stock if the prices were lower and customers bought more. For such a large store it's pretty disappointing. The worst goodwill I've ever been to. Customer service was awful from all ends of the store. My friend was told she couldn't sit on a piece of furniture if she wasn't going to buy it. It wasn't even said in a polite way, it was basically get off the furniture and this is a full grown woman the worker was talking to. I wanted to buy a wallet, majority of them were not priced which shows the laziness of the workers there. The wallet I wanted was a name brand that was fairly used but I figured it would be a decent price because #1 it's used #2 it's GOODWILL you know, a resale secondhand store. I go up there and the woman gets someone to put a price on it. I watch this woman take it and go to the wallet section. She comes back drops it off and leaves and I'm told it's going to be $15.00 I ask why it's so expensive and the cashier says they match it to the prices of the other wallets. I take the wallet with me and go back there and pull out. ALL the name brand wallets. Majority of them are 4.99 which is normal goodwill price for wallets. There is ONE which is 8.99 and it was coach. I go back to the front with other wallets and purses where there is a different woman who was wearing a superwoman costume asks me what I want her to do with all this stuff. Great way to greet a customer. I tell her I want to understand why they priced it so high. She says that it's not her job to figure that out. She asks me if I'm buying it and I tell her no, and that I want to talk to someone who knows. She demands that I move out of the way because there's other people she wants to ring up. Before that happens the woman who priced the wallet storms up to the register pulls the cashier aside and firmly tells her that's the price and basically not to assist me. I really like this Goodwill! This was my first time at the one and I was pleasantly surprised. This was an Ultimate Haul- 2 summer dresses, 4 pair of shorts, and a cute top...all for $29.00 My only regret was that I forgot to use my 25% coupon. Oh well, it supports a great cause. This is my favorite Goodwill location in the Twin Cities, and I actually prefer to drive to this location instead of the one a block away from my house. The staff here is always super friendly, and I see the manager most times that I'm in here and she's always friendly and cheerful and interacts with customers regularly. I've gotten pretty lucky with my furniture purchases from this location, and since they always seem to have so much there's times when they put all the orange sticker furniture pieces at half off just to keep things moving and free up space to bring in new stuff. There's also a decent selection for the men's apparel, which is usually where I head after I check out the furniture selection. This location is also very clean and organized, and you can tell that the staff take pride in giving customers a clean location to go into and a friendly shopping and donation experience. Sometimes there's a line when you drop off donations, but that's all based on timing and sometimes you can be in and out of there in 5 minutes or less. read more

One of my favorite goodwills! I go here when I want cute work clothes with brands I know such as Gap, The Limited, Loft etc. Last week, I picked up a brand new skirt, a pair of pants, a jacket, a dress, a sweater and a few shirts and paid about 40 dollars. I try to go after donating items (you get a 20% coupon) or on one of their "color tag" sale days. This helps reduce the cost quite a bit. The worker Roxanna was so rude it's unbelievable. My minor daughter needed help trying a dress on (a big prom type dress) I went in dressing room to help and she richly said I needed to get out only one person at a time in the dressing room. There was nothing posted about this policy. I told the work I was the mother and I was helping my daughter, her response was "I don't care get out, only one person in the room" I ask since when I have always helped my daughter? She then said "it doesn't matter when it is now, get out" I asked to speak to a manager, she said "get your own manager" when I got the manager,(Don) he said that has always been the policy (I know it hasn't because again I have always helped my daughter in the dressing room and even had another manager help me finding shoes for a dress once). Roxanna then made faces at me and sneered that she was right...I don't care if she was right or wrong she came at me with an aggressive attitude without even asking what was what. I also had a son who at the time he had cancer and couldn't dress himself, if he was still here would I not be able to help him try clothes on? This goodwill is not a nice store. read more
