The associate at the cash register was great. She processed my return without complaint. It's hard when you can't try things on and I hate returning items as you get a store credit and not money back. So I shopped to see what I could find. They have jewelry but I was informed by the manager it's packed in bags and a flat rate. You get to look at it for a few minutes and then you need to decide. I was looking for 80s jewelry so I didn't need a whole packet. They had a few last chance racks of $2.55 items. I found a sweater which could pass for an 80s item on it so I was happy. Saw a great purse but I wasn't willing to pay $15 for it. A cute teapot from Harry and David made it into my cart and some water glasses to replace our chipped ones. Also a brand new sweater which came from TJMaxx overstock. I found two photo frames for gifts and one for myself. Used my gift card up and then some. The donation line of cars was long. But when I was leaving it was a little shorter so I joined it to donate morning the items in my trunk. read more

There are no fitting rooms, and when I asked about them, the employee working on the floor said I could return my purchase as long as I had a receipt and the tags were still on. No mention by the employee that I could return what I paid CASH for and only get STORE CREDIT. What a scam. Update: I understand the issue of not having changing rooms. My issue is, I paid cash, I would like my cash refunded. When I asked the lady on the floor about the return policy, there was no mention of only receiving store credit. That is a valuable piece of information and had I known that, I would not have made the purchase. read more

This was such a stupid experience. There were no fitting rooms or mirrors like the other goodwill stores I have been to. I didn't buy any of the clothes I was holding because I couldn't see what they looked like. Ridiculous at least have mirrors you guys. read more

I enjoyed my visit to this Goodwill! The book section was on the smaller side for me and didn't offer great variety, but the store itself was clean and organized! I ended up finding a very cute umbrella that I am going to craft upon for the Renaissance Festival which was a win! The store itself was well air conditioned which made for a pleasant shopping experience! read more

I've been thrifting at the Castle Rock location for years. I've watched the store go from having amazing inventory in every category to most recently, having just junk on the shelves. This store used to be a treasure trove at reasonable prices. Since introducing their online store and auction sites, GW seems to pull the best items and save them for those sites to garner better prices. Recently, the person who took care of the Linens department was let go. Now, all that is put out is crappy inventory. There is hardly any inventory on the racks, including the comforters, sheet sets, curtains and throw pillows. I used to LOVE to spend a few hours perusing the shelves and racks at this store, but with the ridiculous prices and junk inventory, I find myself thrifting at other stores for my treasures. GOODWILL: LISTEN to your customers! We aren't happy. read more

I don't shop here but do donate regularly. So for that the team that collects the items from donors are courteous and careful with items even as many items will eventually be discarded. For donors it's important to feel your donations will make a difference so it is very commendable this store has a team out back that does just that. read more

This GW has some good stuff, and when the pricing person isn't trying to get eBay prices it's nice to shop here. Lots of Shoes that are average marked up to $15, 20, 25, & 40 dollars. Shoe prices could be better. My biggest issue with this store is there is always only 1 person checking people out. We went in at almost 1 today and 12 people were in line. The one person checking out looked to be training. So we had to leave no one has time to wait 30 mins to check out. No matter what time of the day they always seem to be very short on cashiers. Usually just 1 person. GW should look at CS and when you see a build up pause putting items out on your overflowing stock and check some customers out. There are lots of workers in the store and you never see management checking out customers. read more

Everyone at this Goodwill store has been more than kind and helpful. It must be difficult to sort through all the trash bags of stuff people drop off. I bring really nice things including furniture there, and I always organize it in boxes or shopping bags, carefully and label it (like Fragile, glass) so no one hurts themselves. With the amount of stuff they accumulate, I really appreciate their help in passing on things I no longer use or need to someone who might like it. They are always kind and friendly to my husband and I. read more

This Goodwill is much more over priced than the one in Parker. Much less variety as well. Glad I stopped in to check it out...but it's not worth coming again. I'll stick with the Parker Goodwill. read more

Thier drive through donation is very very slow. Seems like they don't have enough workers or thier system needs upgrade. We had to wait in line for 20 min just to drop of a furniture we wanted to donate. Then they said they won't take any furniture today??? It's a nice desk but wasted our time!!! Really messed up business. So we just left desk somewhere else hope someone will take it for free. Deseret Industries has much much better system! Geez. read more

Meh...I find it hard to believe all the stuff donated makes it into this particular store. The selection is pretty pathetic...but even more pathetic is the organization. I know this is a thrift store but I've been in some incredibly organized thrift stores. They'd sell a heck of a lot more stuff if it was better organized! There is no pride in this business!!! Back to the pathetic selection...I'm shopping for myself and 4 kids so you'd think I'd find things pretty regularly. Not quite. And what's with charging $10 for a tired Burton hoodie with a broken zipper ? I was really excited for CR to get a Goodwill!!! My excitement has turned to total disappointment. I go in with LOW expectations, hope for the best but expect the worst. The employees are nice but SLOW! I was in on a Saturday afternoon and the line was a good 12-15 deep with 1 cashier and 2 employees wandering around behind the counter trying desperately to look busy. Frustrating indeed. Unfortunately that's not the only time that's happened. Overall this Goodwill gets a 2 for the pathetic selection, lack of organization & ridiculous pricing on kind of a lot of USED items. I have never had suck a worse experience in my life. Wenr to donate some stuff one of the items was a nice running room table. Yes the paint was a,little worn but nothing a little paint wouldn't fix. The guy at tje donation part said they wouldnt take it cause they wouldnt be able to sale it. My God your a second hand store! He was rude and said none of my stuff was worth taking. Probably one of the worst Goodwill's I've been to. There is never anything on the shelves but the bare minimum, yet donation drop off lines are frequently long so I know there is plenty of stuff in the back. They are also getting a little greedy with their pricing ....most items are over priced. Very disappointing ... poor managment at this store. read more

Eh, only ok for Castle Rock. Not the best thrift shopping and price is somewhat high for the wares on offer. Disappointing I think for the location, but it does beat the Task Force (previously reviewed) for selection. With Target right across the street there does seem to be some clearance flow through here I've not seen before. Perhaps a synergistic relationship insuring Target doesn't throw out those final markdowns and gets the tax right off for donations? Will keep an eye on this location as it's my local thrift but so far not overly impressed. read more

Get there at the right time for their 50% off weekend sales. You'll notice their employees removing all of the clothing with the colored tags that are 50% off for that day. Seems kind of pointless to have those sales if you aren't going to let the customer buy items at 50% off. read more

This is the first time making a donation at this new location. They have never been very friendly or helpful even at the old location. Today I called about donating some exercise equipment. I described it over the phone and they said they would love to have it. So I drive down there and I am met by a grouchy old man who said they had too many donations today and he wouldn't unload it and told me to put it in the dumpster. When I went inside to discuss this poor customer service with the manager, her attitude was just as bad and suggested I go out and talk to them. I drove to Denver and sold the stuff for scrap metal and got $26 for it. Don't waste your time trying to donate anything to Goodwill. They are too busy and don't want to be bothered by you. read more

I didn't know that raising your voice / yelling at customers from employees was acceptable behavior. I went to the dressing room area to try on a sweater. One of the dressing's room door was ajar a few inches so I stepped in. I noticed on the floor there was a door handle on the floor to the side. No biggie I thought, I'll throw on the sweater over my shirt and see if it fits. 3-5 seconds of being in the dressing room I hear a yell from the cashier approximately 40' away, 'Get out of the dressing room. It's currently being worked on!". Not a request, but a demand. Let me make this clear, his tone was one of someone trying to be authoritative. So I exited the dressing room as customers in line stared at me. I responded with "Excuse me, but I do not see anyone working here". He replied across customer in line to me with, "There's a door handle on the floor". i was thinking to myself, 'I now that now, but not before entering...' As I was checking out, I asked if I could make a suggestion and proceeded with, "In the future if you do not want people to use a dressing room you may need to put up a sign that says 'Do Not Enter' or 'Out of Order' instead of yelling at customers to get out of the dressing room". At this exact time another employee (mgr?) asked what was going on and the gentleman said to her the door handle was broken and he was fixing it and he had to jump in line to help customers check-out. There was no apology however, just an excuse for his behavior, completely oblivious or worse.... The issue is, you don't yell or bark orders at customers across the store. This is highly unprofessional, rude and tacky. No one, especially customers should be treated like kids being barked at. I used to visit this store almost every Saturday morning due to teaching in the area. So it's unfortunate that treating customers like children is accepted policy now. Based off of my last experience and seeing what others review have posted it's time for me to ditch goodwill shopping at this location. read more

The Castle Rock location management is the biggest joke I have ever seen. I had a very big concern about how they treat the employees and people volunteering their time for them. When I FINALLY got to speak to the store manager about how I was being treated she told me that if I don't leave on my own will I would be forced to leave the property whether I wanted to leave or not. I asked for her name multiple times and she flat out refused to give me her name or the corporate number. NEVER go to the Castle Rock location unless you like being treated unimportant. read more

I love coming to goodwill, I'm pretty frequent shopper. I've noticed the prices going up and some items being priced well beyond reasonable "second hand" pricing.. But the straw that broke the camels back for me (almost literally) was how the employees were when we bought a game table. When I bought it I was told we would have help loading it when we picked it up. Came back to get it and the people working did nothing, beyond point to the back and tell us to grab it ourselves.. I'm not the strongest person, and definitely couldn't cut it as a mover, so had we known we'd be moving it from the back of the store to our car by ourselves, we would have brought some strong friends for help. Thankfully two kind gentleman came to help us. Which included opening the sliders to make it wider and moving carts. So thank you kind strangers who jumped in! I was very discouraged by the lack of help we got from the employees, especially after spending over $100 on the item. While I wouldn't expect them to help lift, I didn't expect for us and kind strangers to be trying to figure out how to get it out the store alone while employees pretended to see us. read more
