Drove all the way to Southlands to go to New York and Company as I needed a suit for a wedding. He doesn't like shopping but since I wanted his opinion, he had to come with me. So we came to this outdoor mall as he didn't want to deal with walking around other people in an indoor mall. The store is closed. Permanently. So I'm panicking and sweating as I didn't want to drag him to a mall. I decided to check out this store as I do love their styles and hoped they had a suit. Alfreda greeted me and I explained I needed a suit, preferable two buttons and single breasted. I think I took her by surprise as I was that specific. But she walked me over to a suit - I believe it's the only one they have in the store - and it was two buttons and single breasted. What are the odds? She selected my sizes and led me to a fitting room. I love their fitting room area. It's plush and fancy with comfortable chairs the gentlemen can wait in. Carpeting on the floors so our feet don't touch cold tile. Alfreda asked if I would come out so they could see how it looked and i said of course as I wanted him to see it. I said a prayer and tried on the smaller size pants. A little snug. So I tried on the larger size. It fit! Put on the jacket in the matching size and looked in the mirror. Looked like it would work so I went outside so he could give me his opinion. He actually liked it! I was so relieved. Alfreda said i looked nice in it and so I was sold. Alana rang me up as Alfreda had another customer and we were talking about why I needed such a specific style. When she heard I would need a white button up shirt to be able to wear a tie with it, she said she had a style to show me that someone had returned in a larger size. It was cute. Cut in a little at the sides to show off your figure instead of simply hanging loose. I tried it and they suggested I order it in the same size as the suit. And the best part? They ship it to me free of charge! It would take a week but it would save me from running around. What could be even better than all of this? I received a discount for my purchase amount being above $100. Both ladies were so nice and made me feel appreciated and beautiful. All the stress of finding the perfect matching suit for the event gone. Definitely recommend. read more

I recently ran in here looking for an appropriate funeral outfit that I needed ASAP. The ladies working in there were incredibly helpful and were able to outfit me and my sister in law. They steamed everything for me so all I had to do was take it out of the bag and wear it. That was so appreciated as I also had to get 5 kids dressed that day. Looking around the clothing in there looks fabulous and I can't wait to return when I have something a little more pleasant to buy for. read more

I was racially profiled at this store. After Christmas I came into the store the exchange some items I received. Upon my arrival at 5:30 pm, the clerk immediately let me know the store closes promptly at 6pm & proceeded to do the exchange. After about 20 minutes of her fumbling on the register she concluded by letting me know once again that they close at 6, it was 5:50. I felt rushed. She suggested a merchandise credit/gift card & said I could come back the following day. There were still people (WhiteCustomers) in the store for long (30 minutes) after I was rushed out. The next day I went to another store near my job after the negative experience at this store & was told the previous store voided my store credit because I didn't have a receipt & told me I was to to contact loss prevention to further discuss. Upon speaking to Mark Garcia (who was rude & dismissive) of loss prevention, I was offered no apologies for receiving a bill/void gift card & was told to go back to the previous store to pick up original merchandise that I already previously returned. I called the original store to ask them to have my merchandise ready & the store manager told me I couldn't have it unless I bring the original purchase receipt which I already stated I didn't have because they were gifts! After going back & forth with Mark Garcia & this store it was finally made clear I can in fact retrieve my original items. My question still remains: Why did they accept the original return only to rescind it after the fact? Why put me through all that Drama instead of just stating they don't accept returns unless accompanied with original purchase receipts or gift receipts? Why waste everyone's time? If my name was Karen or Becky, I'm positive my experience would've been met which a much different outcome. BTW, the items totaled less than $100.00 & the style of clothes sold there are meant for Karen & Beckys, not fly at all. Never again, Sistah's beware. When I spoke w/manager again I told her she owed me an apology for all the running around I had to do & being wrong, she said "Nope, bye!!!" & literally hung up in my face. Again, rude AF obviously not an educated lot. She offered no explanation as to why her clerk initiated the return that she had to override to begin with. I was treated like a common criminal the entire experience as if I did something wrong. Again why did they even do the return then get mad at me for being upset the gift card was voided & wasting my dang time? I wish I never got these gifts from this racist ass store! I love White House Black Market, but this location is not my favorite. Every time I have been in, I have found the staff disinterested and impolite. There is no greeting or offer to help. If you bring in a return from an online purchase, prepare yourself for blatant rudeness. Some customer service training is certainly needed in this location. I spend a substantial amount with WHBM, but anymore I will take the time to drive to Park Meadows because they do want my business. read more

I love the clothes and the styles. great fit always. this particular store, unfortunately I have never found the staff to be overly friendly . Last time I was in I asked if I can I return and I bought without the receipt. I was told absolutely no problem. That is why we have the policy that we can look it up as long as you bought it within 60 days , but what she didn't tell me was that without the receipt they Will only give you store credit . So the next time I went I didn't bother looking for the receipt since I was told I didn't need it. Now they tell me only store credit. Not very friendly and really not right. I would have grabbed the receipt had I known. Plus what is the point of keeping track of you refuse to issue a refund the way we paid. Disappointed by this store. read more
