Female with the dark long hair exhibited a lack of manners that should've been corrected as a child. The drop off spot did not have anyone to help me (who's currently 30 weeks pregnant) and my husband with loads of donations boxes so we began unloading ourselves. NBD. Though it is helpful that they have labeled boxes in order for us to properly separate each item, it unfortunately wasn't to this lady's standard when she eventually came marching out. We were corrected-- not a problem, we apologized, complied and put more effort into being less of a burden. But then we corrected again over and over again saying "you're just throwing boxes everywhere" multiple times. I had enough of this petty behavior and left with half of the things we were supposed to give away. No worries, there's another GW closer to us. I understand that things need to be in order and that's why we tried even harder separating our items but the passive aggressive behavior was completely unnecessary. From previous reviews it seems like it's a common theme where employees are not able to handle minimal stress well. Maybe it's time to pick a non stressful job? read more

Disappointed shopper Earlier today I was at the London rd concord nh. I was in the mens dress shirts and was interested in 6 shirts but none had tags. I brought the items to the register. The cashier looked at the tags and said they were hi-end. I can assure you I could have purchased the same items at target or Walmart. The manager said to ticket them full price which to her was $10 a piece. Since I brought the issue to their attention I was hoping they would be marked $7 each with a blue tag making them 50% off. The manager was not helpful at all. I have been a customer for many many years at your concord and hooksett locations and have spent a lot of money for your programs and deserve a little respect for bringing the issue to the cashier and managers attention. All I can say is "shame on your organization". I don't expect a response but since I took the time to write to you, I hope you will. I brought items that were usable to this goodwill. The young man who came started going through the boxes handing me back usable craft items telling me the items were missing. They were storage boxes for stamping up. They dont have items in them. And i did put a set in one of them and he handed it back to me saying there were pieces missing. I told him there werent pieces missing. I didnt want to argue with him so i asked him to get a manager. He cane back out with a young girl. No idea if she was a manager but explained to me they dont take the fake nails that were not used they were part of a costume i had bought from the Manchester goodwill. She told me they dont sell them. And proceded to tell me i yelled at the associate. I defended myself saying i did not yell at him. And pointed in his direction as i did. And she said im raising my voice and pointing. I couldnt believe she was going there. I came to donate not be bullied by a kid and a child manager. My son was with and i asked if i had yelled and he said no. read more

Me and my family stopped by the donation center to drop off items from my mother that just passed. There was a guy with the beard at the drop off point that was hassling us and yelling at us that we were not putting items in the right bins. I told him it's not my fault that I dont know and are doing your job sorting items out. He kept yelling at us and I told him I don't like your attitude and that my mom just passed. I'm just here to drop off some stuff. He said you can take your shit and bring it somewhere else. Very rude person. It took everything I had to keep calm. Someone like that should NOT be in a role to interact with customers. read more

Anyways something here, things are priced to move so you don't need to debate with yourself if it's worth the price. Maybe the best luggage selection I have seen and the sports area is well stocked two. If you've been to one Northern New England Goodwill, you've been to them all. We frequently visit thrift stores when we travel and I was extremely disappointed in the Goodwill locations we visited in Maine, NH and VT. The Loudon Rd location was no exception. The shelves and racks were sparse except for the ones filled with new discount store excess. These exact items can be found at every Goodwill in the region. If I wanted to shop Family Dollar or Dollar General, I would have gone there. read more

This store used to be full of selections and now it's bare and has little to choose from. I don't understand how it went from having a great book section to having a very small children's section. There are no linens at all and there's too much plastic junk. read more

Very limited. Empty shelves, empty racks. Poor selection of anything.

Shopping the store is fine, but the day I dropped off donations, there was a huge amount of furniture at the donation bay (several townwide yard sales were going that weekend). I was interested in several items and inquired about them, but was told they are not allowed to sell directly from the donation area; it's a company policy and people have been fired for doing so. I understand that, so I asked how soon they would be able to process everything and was told that they wouldn't be able to get it all inside for at least a couple more days and once the items were rained on, they would be thrown out. Meanwhile inside there were only about 6 furniture items and plenty of room for more. So if you're donating, and you actually want your item to get to someone else and not the dump, take it to a different place with more processing capability, or make sure there's not a huge backlog the day you bring it. read more

I began shopping regularly at the goodwill with my grandmother when l was a child, my first experirnce being when l was 12 years old. Over the course of years she shared with me her reasons for choosing to shop there. They were many and varied. She liked that the products sold were priced to make them available to families of lesser means. She was also pleased that the money raised was used to help those in need in the local community . Goodwill was also providing meaningful employment for someone. ln my opinion goodwill has strayed from the values and mission my grandmother was once so happy to be a part of. A few years ago prices seemed to rise to the point of becoming marginally competitive with the well known giant corporation. When l first saw the "Donations not being accepted today" sign I knew that my conclusion was very likely correct. The inventory is free coming in the door, getting it out the door should not be hindered by the price being asked. If someone picks something up to examine it and sets it back down they have often done a calculation and decided that the price is too high. Goodwill should never be at a price that is too high. Keep the lights on, pay the staff, help families... Goodwill. read more

I have always loved visiting the Derry and Hudson stores, especially the $1 a lb store in Hudson. I was sad to see Derry closed. Since moving up near Concord. I have visited this store 3 times now. I just literally walk around the whole store and can not believe how awful, overpriced , empty , unkept this place is. It's like walking through an overpriced leftover yard sale. The price of clothes is insane . Either someone was taking and bought a $40 fake Coach purse, or they finally listened when I literally went over everything wrong with $10 flea market crap. Polaroid batteries ( is Polaroid even still around ?) $20 ... don't waste good money on Halloween items . $20 + go to Dollar Tree or Dollar General way way cheaper and exact quality. I don't understand how this is considered a charity store. It's definitely not high-end Newbury st or even NY ... this is Concord NH. Overpriced crap spread out everywhere, and the employees are not very customer service trained . They do dress like they shop there, which is not a compliment. Toy selection is fun and very reasonably priced. There are a lot of glass wares and fun pictures. The sports equipment is great for kids to get an introduction into tennis rackets, softballs, etc. without spending a ton on new stuff... We had fun and spent more time in there than we planned on spending. Staff was nice, especially with two little kids in tow, and a 2 year old's meltdown over leaving a chair behind :) read more

So I decided to save some money and tryout good will to buy some work clothes. Needless to say I was not impressed. It smelled so badly in the store, some of the staff were super rude as well. As I was going through the close I noticed used clothes with rips and stains. Their jeans are not separate clearly and can be very deceiving. I bought the wrong size pair of jeans returned them and was told they wouldn't credit me back the money on my card but give me a store gift card. I think I will never go back their to buy anything ever again. Thanks good will for making me see the type of things you sell to those in need and you should be a shamed to ask for donations. read more

A good variety of things to purchase but very very put off by the little old lady at the register. She asked me to donate money beyond my purchase. I politely declined. She wouldn't let it go and repeatedly told me about the managers/owners, how important donations were and tried to guilt me into money in front of the strangers. It became a tug of war with her ethics and my stubbornness not to be openly shamed for not complying with her demand. I will forever skip this store and my memories. She could learn a few lessons from the Belmont staff who are incredibly kind. read more

I bought a small teapot with cover. After I paid for it the girl was wrapping it and dropped the cover breaking it. She called the manager to give me a credit but all they would give me was a gift card and refused to take it off my credit card. That was against their policy.
