The inventory was mostly heavily worn clothing, older furniture, and random odds and ends. We spent some time looking around but didn't find a single thing worth buying. The experience itself didn't help. There was a dog barking before we even came through the door. As we walked toward it, the dog was shut in a bathroom, and I overheard a comment suggesting it only reacted after seeing me. Since it had already been barking before I entered, that struck me as an odd and unnecessary thing to say. The front door was left wide open, and while browsing I was bitten by a flying insect inside the store. I ended up with welts afterward. I know bugs can happen anywhere, but it definitely wasn't something I expected while shopping indoors. The store also felt surprisingly loud and cramped. Between the barking dog, conversations carrying throughout the shop, and the tight layout, it wasn't a relaxing place to browse--even though we were the only customers there. What honestly surprised me most was seeing the near-perfect online ratings afterward. Everyone has different tastes, but based on my visit, I just don't understand the hype. I left empty-handed and with bug bites, which isn't exactly the thrift-store experience I was hoping for. I do wish the owners the best, but my visit was disappointing enough that I don't see myself returning.

It's a no-frills antique store that is typical of many New England stores. The location is a little out of the way but the staff is very nice and there are a variety of different items for sale. I was particularly impressed with the very back room. That's where the larger pieces of furniture are stored. I saw a wide variety of trunks, dressers, and chairs. They had all different styles and excellent prices. I bought an adorable little white vase, but I plan on returning once I have a house of my own to furnish.

So off we went! The Renewable Trading Co. is located in the former Town Line Furniture building. It's quite large now and they haven't even begun to use all the available space. The consigners have separate areas and most have furniture and home goods for sale. There is some jewelry and clothing and other odds & ends, but primarily furniture and decorative items for the home. Most items are reasonably priced. If I needed furniture I'd probably be more excited about The Renewable Trading Co. As it stands, I will definitely return just to see what they've been up to. The possibilities are endless! The first stop on a trip is the Parker-French Antique Center and this place is absolutely fantastic. From the outside this place looks pretty smell but the moment you walk in you realize that there's actually a couple of big rooms full of all sorts of antiques, retro toys, war memorabilia, and everything else under the sun. The staff here is super friendly and both my parents and my wife found things that they just needed to add to whatever collection they are working on at the moment, I don't know, my wife is buying a creepy little statue with nuns on it. Overall, this place is definitely going to be on my "must hit up" list whenever I'm visiting my family in New Hampshire. I mean, how can I not hit up a place that has stuff from The Flintstones, WWF, and the Toronto Blue Jays? Although I left empty handed (myself at least).
