Once we saw this on the receipt he immediately went back in. The refused to give him a refund, only a store credit as this is their policy! So today we go back with the credit slip and make a similar priced purchase. I put my items on the counter which the woman grabbed and scanned right away, while I dug out my credit slip. She got angry when she saw it, saying loudly 'You should have given this to me first! Not I have to call for help!' To which I loudly replied 'I didn't know!'. Once a manager appeared she started in on the manager that I didn't give it to her first. I again said loudly I didn't know! The manager seemed to brush me and the old bag off while doing whatever she needed to do to use the store credit slip. If she doesn't like her job or people she needs to get another job. I won't be talked to like that. No more shopping there, I'll stick to Jubilee and the Re-U-zit store. Their prices are cheaper too, with better quality.

There are some great finds here -maybe due to the generousity of the surrounding community. The place inspires you to give to others.

As is the trend in the area, the location of this store was many other things over the years eventually leading to an empty shell. A few years ago, I was happy to see such a great organization moving in. Goodwill in general uses the profits from their thrift stores to find job placement as well as offering good quality goods at low prices. The Palmyra store is large, well lit, and very clean. Each time I come back back, I feel like it's better organized and has really grown into its location. They offer a wide selections of goods: housewares, toys, books, media, clothing, and furniture. Odds are, you will find a treasure of two you didn't know you had to have! The cashier is in the center of the store near the doors and holds all the jewelry and more valuable items. The store also has a clean bathroom for customers. The staff is here is friendly and local. This is a great place to shop.

After looping around to the back I found the bins and the dock right away. I had a variety of items to donate, and the gentleman who received it from me was very friendly and professional. I'll happily bring my donations here in the future.

Recently while traveling from Myerstown to Lebanon in pursuit of all things thrift we drove past…read morethis store in the city. Anyone that knows me knows I can't just do a drive by and told hubby we HAD to stop. Little did I know (and since we don't know the area) that getting back to it after we passed it would be a challenge. One way roads and road blocks, alleyways, and vacant lots with no direct exit points to the alley behind it made hubby very frustrated. The location in the urban spawl of Lebanon wasn't the greatest either so I had my fingers crossed that it was worth all the effort it took to get there. Moral of story: set your gps - don't pass it! It's a mess trying to go back! They had a graveled, run down lot to the side of the building that housed several cars. There were a few rugged (possibly homeless?) folks smoking and standing around the loading area. Not sure if they worked there or were going thru incoming donations. The place overall had a very concerning exterior, run down, and didn't feel very secure. However with hubby in tow, and being that it was daylight we ventured inside. If you come in thru the lot you enter on a lower level and into a small vestibule of sorts. From there you can proceed to walk to a larger room with small furniture pieces, books, home items, toys, pet supplies etc. This space is VERY narrow and congested. Social distancing is impossible, as is walking past someone in one of the rows. Also it has a strong, foul odor. I couldn't wait to wrestle my way to the stairs in hope that the upper level would be much better. Lighting upstairs was brighter and it did have a more open feel. The store consists of a series of rooms, each one housing a different department. There was a vintage clothing area, where the majority of items were not vintage (unless you consider early 2000's vintage) but there were a few older, stained pieces. However conditions weren't the greatest and although the smell improved, that strange odor was still present. I browsed through some of the other departments but wasn't impressed with anything. Most of the clothing was smashed together on overflowing tight racks and it was hard to really get in there and move pieces around. Quality wasn't great either. The front room where the cashier is located has knick knacks and their "better" inventory of glass and such. Prices ranged from cheap to expensive. If I had to say something positive I will say the middle room containing glassware and kitchen items was probably the best. The shelves were spaced out and prices were fair. If you're looking for vintage dishes or glasses this is your spot. They also had a huge selection of used yarns but prices were higher than other area thrift stores for the same type. Also I do like that this thrift's proceeds benefit the Humane League, an organization I believe in. Both of us were ready to get out of this place and I don't see myself returning. I swear that whatever that smell was got stuck to us. I could faintly smell it on me the rest of the day. WORTH MENTIONING: Hubby asked to use the rest room and was told a firm no. So make sure you "go" before you go. NOT stroller or kid friendly. Items downstairs are much lower priced than upper. Wouldn't shop here alone after dark.
