Save your time and bypass this thrift store. I don't know how they can even call this a thrift store with their prices. They had some new shoes for $50-60 dollars. Clothes were too expensive for the brands they had. Why pay $8 for a short sleeved shirt when you can go buy the items from a retailer for the same price. I love to thrift shop and hands down this is the most expensive thrift store I have been to. I only started shopping here within the past year, so I can't speak to what they used to be like prior to then. But every time I've shopped here I have been very pleased! The store is clean and organized, staff is friendly, and I have been very happy with the price and quality of my purchases. I brought my teenage daughter back to school shopping and she left with 2 very full larger shopping bags for about $65! I just went there tonight to shop for my toddler and every shirt I got was $2.99-$3.99. I will continue to shop there for my kids and home. read more

This "thrift" store with "deals" is a scam in my opinion. Through the years and change in ownership, they've become insanely overpriced and I've heard rumors of employees keeping items to sell privately to increase their own profits. They price to make a profit, not to help people with less money to afford items. These things are freely donated and they jack the price up where only people with money to spare can afford anything. OVERPRICED! I won't be going there anymore. I saw a pair of JJill pants that were priced at 24.99! I can go on ebay and pay LESS. I also saw a small glass salt shaker with a plastic lid for 3.99... I got the same thing at Walmart that same day for 1.49. These are just a few of the examples, but I saw many, many more. Didn't used to be like that, sad really. read more

Nice old furnitures. We kept going back and we got 3 nice wing-back chairs with foot stool, end tables and entry way table. All solid wood and quality made. Loved this store! Highly recommended to shoppers around :) they also have nice baby swing/rocker/bouncer, baby playtime toys and exersaucer and alot more. One of the best thrifts in the area, for sure. Enormous selection of furniture, most in great condition, and a nice shelf of books as well. I think the prices for most items are pretty fair, but some of the furniture prices seem a bit high at times. They have a constantly changing set of items on display though, so obviously they prices aren't too high! I've found a couple real gems here in the past year, and make sure to stop by every couple weeks just to see how the inventory updates so I don't miss out on a good find! read more

Traveled from Lancaster with a shopping list in hand after hearing great things about this thrift store. En route we also discovered Jubilee and Goodwill. For a small town to have three decent thrift stores is truly a blessing! I was immediately impressed with the size and cleanliness of this store. The jewerly section was massive and the largest I've ever seen second hand. Inside you are immediately welcomed by a living room display. The day of my visit the display had a sold sign and was of great quality. I assume they put their better pieces in the display and it sells quickly. The clothing was mostly current and had a mixture of brand and lower end labels. Generally most shirts were the same price, as were the pants $4.99. Although they do offer discounts on different colored barbs. Mondays are half price. The clothing section was smaller than most thrift stores of this size. The furniture section was abundant and featured items from all eras. Most had condition issues but there were alot of solid wood vintage pieces. I saw several waterfall pieces from the 40's, including one with real shell handles. Prices for dressers ranged from $85 to $100 which is a tad high but still better than buying new. They also had a nice section of outdoor toys and bikes. Several brand new toys were also in that area. Highlights for me were the two great train tables, something I've never come across while thrifting for $25- $50...what a steal! Areas that needed improvement or were lacking were pillows and misc linens. That area was a hot mess and inventory was dated. I also expected more costumes and jeans. Was really unimpressed with ladies pants section overall. Dressing rooms were also really tiny. I hardly had room to move around in there. Even with the negatives this is a great store with friendly staff and who knows maybe there won't be a jean shortage when I come back. read more

This thrift store has possibly the best selection for furniture in the area, or at least a close second to Jubilee in Lebanon. Some other reviews mentioned an uptick in prices since the world imploded - I've seen that too. I think the slightly higher prices are still worth paying because the store is a nonprofit benefiting the homeless! The only disappointment for me is that furniture is more commonly white-tagged now so you can't benefit from the ridiculous color-coded price slashing that happens every week. That color-coded price slashing will easily send you home with fantastic steals. That $40 treasure just became a mere $20! However it doesn't apply to items like clothing or books (and now, possibly, furniture - more's the pity.) The book selection is quite good (paperbacks are now $1 instead of 50c, but Bibles of any sort are always free), and there's a fair amount of wall art/ picture frames to choose from as well. You can very easily find hilariously adorable/ugly kitsch with a Pennsylvania Dutch flair - who doesn't want a large painted wooden duck on the wall, or a tabletop scarecrow with a sinister grin? The kids clothes section is admittedly very small, with not a lot of pieces for a given size range. The toys section is a bit chaotic, it never seems appealing to me to paw through bins for a bag of random plastic, but the adjacent shelves have a spectacular selection of board games new and old. NEVER AGAIN. Apparently the store is under new ownership and it shows. Gone are the days of discount days and great deals. Saw a bracelet I loved marked at a reasonable price and was then told after a long thoughtful pause that it was marked wrond and wanted 8x the ticketed price and WOULD NOT HONOR ORIGINAL PRICE. They lost a very dedicated patron that shopped and spent good money there. Way too over priced for a "thrift shop" andd bad business practices. Don't waste your time and keep on moving. I haven't been here in several months due to the prices being outraegous then. I came back this morning wondering if things have changed, and the only way I can describe the prices now is D I S G U S T I N G. Absolutely disgusting for a "thrift" store. This place shouldn't even be allowed to call itself that at this point. I counted 40+ items in the various clothing racks that, if they were marked new or new with tags, they jacked up the price to over half, or almost at the original retail price. A bunch were $40 or more which FLOORED me. You're a thrift store, not a boutique. People don't come to thrift stores looking to pay those kinds of prices. If people wanted to pay these prices, they'd just go to the actual store, or go on the store's app and buy them for retail price. Even their used clothing and items are priced higher than all the other thrift stores in our area. And everyone should be aware that, as I have been told multiple times in the past by employees there over the years, Blue Mountain gets all of its inventory for FREE, like most thrift stores. Donations from locals, and donations from businesses who need to offload inventory for one reason or another. So there is no justifiable reason for these prices. It is straight up greed and straight up wrong. I will never buy from here again and implore others not to reward this greed with your business. People should also look into where the money they give them goes as well. The only nice thing I can say about this place is that the employees are very helpful and friendly, so please be kind to them. read more

Blue Mountain Thrift Store is one of the larger private ones in the area and specializes in all the typical items: furniture, clothing, home goods, toys, and miscellaneous thingamajigs. The store used to be located in Cleona, but has since taken a portion of the old Festival Foods at North Londonderry Square in Palmyra. Parking is ample since there still aren't many businesses in this strip mall. The store is large and organized. The lights are little dim, which makes it hard to rummage. Items in this store skew a little older and more worn, but that can often lead to more interesting and eclectic finds. Prices on many of the fabrics and glassware are reasonable. My main consistent complaint with this store is the pricing on collectibles and antiques. They are always extremely high; just because something says "brand A" does not make it valuable. Of course, I'm always looking for a bargain, but these prices are often higher than brand new items. I've never had a good experience with the staff here either, it often seems like an inconvenience to help you. This is a must-stop place for Pennsylvania local goods if you're roadtripping through the area. You will find unique items! read more

Used to love shopping here before we moved out of Palmyra. Figured we would stop since we were in the area. My 4 year old climbed up on a couch and a worker there yelled "Get off the couch! Oh my F***ing God." I could hear it from across the store. My husband was already in the process of grabbing our daughter off the couch. She came over with an attitude and continued berating him. When he asked to speak to whoever was in charge because her language was uncalled for, another woman came over. He asked her what else he was supposed to do besides remove her from the couch and was told "you can leave." They won't be getting our business anymore and I will be spreading the word about how they treat their customers. We have never been treated that way at Community aid or Jubilee! read more

This used t be a great place to get used stuff from. Then it appears the owner got greedy. Prices are way too high for DONATED items. We took some furniture to donate and were told they do no accept anything made of particleboard, yet inside there are many items made of particleboard. If you buy any furniture move it yourself of be prepared for the employees to not care and scratch, drop or otherwise damage your purchase. Don't waste your time here, instead shop and donate to Jubilee where you know your donations/purchases will make a difference. read more

I have not once ever seen a thrift shop try to sell a handmade wicker dining room table chair for $200 per chair. You read that right $200 per chair! The store tried to justify this price because they found it on the internet listed for that much. If you advertise as a thrift store I expect thrift store prices. Whoever prices your items is insane. We brought in Blue Mountain to remove some furniture and other items from an elderly family member's home when we were preparing for him to move in with us. We made it clear that they were not to take photos, his late wife's artwork, and a few specific pieces of furniture, and that he was not moving in for a few more weeks. They took EVERYTHING. Family photos, tons of his wife's artwork, and his BED. We quickly moved him in with us to reconcile the lack of a bed, didn't realize they had taken a few of the items of furniture, the artwork, and the photos until a few days ago. When we went looking for these things, explaining that we were very upset that they were taken, the sales associate said she didn't know about the photos or furniture, then proudly announced that her artwork "sold like hot cakes." No remorse at all after we explained that these were irreplaceable. Then, when we dug through some of their floor inventory and recovered three of her paintings (out of hundreds), they made us BUY THEM BACK. read more
