I had a 50% coupon my entire purchase, every goodwill in the area were doing this sale and I got up to the front and the two cashiers gave me a disgusted look as if I were stealing! they never heard of the sale and accused the other goodwills of stealing and losing money by promoting this sale. That same day I used this coupon (friends & family sale) at the Thorndale and Exton location no problem. I was given this coupon by friend who works at theThorndale Goodwill. The two cashiers at phoenixville denied my request and were so rude about it. I forget the one ladies name (grey hair, glasses) but in the past she has accused me of stealing even though I have worked at this location several years ago and the manager that I knew advocated for me. Yet you guys get all these DONATIONS for FREE. I'm not the type to write these kinds of reviews but I couldn't believe how ridiculously rude these employees were to me along with my mom and sister! read more

I popped into this Goodwill location after picking up some auction wins from the nearby Phoenixville Historical Society. This is a "boutique" location, meaning it's set up more like a retail store than a thrift shop. As I entered I could see that there was time and effort put into "merchandising", again mimicking a retail environment. Clothing was all neatly hung, sorted by size and color. Shelves were likewise type-grouped and not over crowded with items. The quality of goods is more consistent and there is no true "junk". With all this effort put into the environment comes higher prices, with a good deal of the clothing I saw near or at retail new prices. Example: Mossimo (Target brand) shirt for $5.50. It was in very good condition, however that price is approaching what it sold for new. There are some bargains to be had, in the same price range I found LL Bean and Tahini, with patience and thoroughness. This is a good setup for someone looking for a retail experience with some discounting, consistent quality and the feels of helping a nonprofit. If you're a thrift/bargain hunter, looking to maximize your spending power or are a reseller this is not your place. The store is clean, well lit and as it's in a large strip mall, there is plenty of free parking. I was really impressed with this Goodwill, as it was above and beyond all the others I've been to (and that would be ALOT!). They have this boutique section immediately inside, that is displayed so nicely you could easily forget you were in a thrift store. Here were new/used clothing items that were above average or super trendy. Accessories lined the wall like decor. Prices were the same as comparable items on the floor outside of this area. Good section of housewares, sorted by color, clothing was organized, and the sizing for the most part was in the right place. Didn't see items that were damaged beyond being sellable but in typical Goodwill fashion they have a standard pricing system per item and condition isn't taken into consideration. Staff was nice, and were present on the floor to offer assistance, and were actively making sure the racks were in top notch shape. A newbie to my thrift rotation for sure! read more

Like any Goodwill, it's hit or miss, but today was mostly a hit with great finds in the store like never-worn-outdoors hiking boots, some great flannels and a Stanley thermos in great shape for $3. My only complaint is that the donation bins are only out sporadically, so I came home with more than I started with. It's not clear when they are and are not accepting donations, so maybe best to fall before loading up the car. read more

This Goodwill is a little gem. Tucked in the strip mall off of Nutt Road in Phoenixville (near my favorite thai restauraunt - Thai Place) sits this quite large Goodwill. I read a few other, albeit older, reviews and had some high expectations when I went here. I mainly chose to come here because of the furniture selection. It was surprisingly diverse AND they sell salvaged goods/clearance items from Target (some are still in the 'original' boxes!) I was impressed. I also saw shorts from Target (likely brand new, just didn't get sold) very similar to ones I was wearing! Only $4. Holy smokes, this is a NICE Goodwill! read more

I had to write about a customer service experience I received here today. It was so bad that I had to laugh when I got back to my car. I'm still giving it 3 stars instead of zero because I'm sure I'll be back and things will be better the next time. In fact I might even get in the same person's line just to see what happens. Let me set the stage a bit for you first. There are two clerks both ringing someone up. I'm the only person in line this whole time. I queue up behind the person who is obviously going to finish first. Just as the Clerk #1 is finishing up a man queues up behind the person being rang up by Clerk #2. The clerk looks directly at the man and says "Next customer". She clearly hated me from the start. Man: "I think this fellow was first (gestures at me)". The clerk stares at me blankly. Me: "Hello! I'm have a question. I'm definitely getting these pants, but these two sweaters have holes in them. I was ---" The clerk cuts me off. Clerk: "Oh they should have never made it out to the floor. I'll throw them out." Me: "No! If you're just throwing them out I'll take them (I was going to ask for a discount)". Clerk: "Fine, but don't try to return them!". Me: "OK. No problem Clerk: "I hope you're good at sewing. 9 dollars." Me: "I guess I'll find out! Here you go". She hands me the change. BALLS UP MY CLOTHES, and puts them in a bag. Not even a nice orderly roll up. Each times was balled up and shoved into the bag. Clerk: "Next customer" Me: "Wait, can I have a receipt?"" Clerk: "Why, are you planning on returning the pants?" Me:: "No I'm not planning on returning them, I just bought them". Clerk: "I'll have to get a manager." Me: "That's ok, I'll wait." I tried to call her bluff here to see what she would do. She called a manager. After waiting for a minute I decided to empty the clothes I just bought onto the counter, and fold them while we wait. The clerk is watching me fold the clothes I just bought. WATCHING, and waiting, doing absolutely nothing except watching me fold the 2 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters. Me: "I figured I'd fold these since we're just standing here waiting." Clerk: *stares blankly* Me: "Do you guys not do that here?" Clerk: stares blankly* Me: "OK I guess not." Clerk: "Have a good day sir." Now the manager arrives and prints out the receipt. This particular Goodwill is my favorite. This is the best store I've seen so far; as far as cleanliness, a organization and selection. Im in this store atleast once a week and i almost always score something of great use. The only thing i have to complain about is that a lot of the stuff is salvage or surplus inventory from Target stores and whoever is the pricer for the store, i feel as though he or she often over prices things for it to be a thrift store. If an item still has the tags on it they do what is called a "price -up" where they set the price according to the original price on the tag. Sometimes they may do a "price-up" according to the brand name of the clothing. Most of the staff here is really friendly and some are not. I recommend this store over any other Goodwill store and i been to mostly everyone in the area. read more

Goodwill Store & Donation Center - Donation Center Near Me - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania

As the previous poster noted, this is a large Goodwill. They are strong on women's clothes, particularly Nordstrom's house brand clothes. The clothes are more organized than the Exton store (on round racks by color), but they do have more space to work with than most places. They have more furniture, but you have to come often and at different times to get the best stuff. I wish the shoes were better organized. They have a shoe area but they also put the shoes on display racks with the clothes, so if you were looking for shoes and didn't have alot of time, you might miss something. I went about two weeks ago and they are ground zero for budget Christmas decorating. They have everything from new stuff to the kitchy ceramic Christmas trees with the lights on them. They had the stuff arranged like a trim-a-tree shop within a shop...I forgot for a moment that I was in a Goodwill. If you love to thrift shop and root around for hidden treasure, plan to spend at least an hour. I've blown two hours just lookin'. They have a 7 day return policy for store credit as long as the tags are still on the item and you have a receipt. You can use the store credit between Goodwill stores, just make sure you tell the cashier you're using store credit before they start the transaction...trust me on this one. read more

This place has a very large selection of women's apparel and shoes. Apparel is separated by category, for example sweaters, then, pants, dresses, athletic wear. In each group the items are sorted and grouped by color, not by size. What I love about Goodwill is that you can wonderful pieces amongst junk. At this location, finding that gem is like finding a needle in a haystack. Seriously inconvenient. read more

yes, this location has an amazing selection. but it's not worth getting charged for multiple items i didnt purchase! marylyn, our cashier started ringing items up, and then voided multiple items (why i don't know.) and then proceeded with the transaction. as i got to the car i was looking at my receipt, because there was no way what i bought came to $98. now my receipt states "19 items". when i only purchased 13 items! i counted and so did the manager sam, 13 items!!!! the receipt says "2 pairs of men's swimwear" and 2 other charges for men's shorts. i only purchased 1 pair of mens swimwear, and 2 other pairs of mens shorts... thats 3 pairs of shorts! not 4 pairs! and i pointed that out to the manager! "well we went back on the cameras"... as my sister proceeded to show him the receipt and shorts he tyrned and walked away! he did nothing to rectify what just happened! my sister and i even offered for the so called manager to come out to our vehicle to check! just to prove a point that his employee screwed up! if he checked the cameras as he claimed, he would have counted three pairs of shorts! and you would have seen that on camera (because there are cameras right above the register, too!). i would not have made a big deal if i was charged for an extra item. but 6 extra items i didn't pay for!?! the extra charge of swimwear, that alone was $7!!! another employee handed us a card to call because she witnessed the manager was wrong and he (sam) did absolutely nothing! so either the employee stole by charging me for an extra 6 freaking items!!! or the manager is stealing! because in my mind, they stole from me. if you do go to the phoenixville location, double check the items on your receipt to the items purchased! this happened to me last year, and i didnt make a big deal, it was only a little over a $1 i was charged. but this time? no! what happened is not ok! and for the manager to be completely ok with this is mind boggling. manager: sam cashier: marylyn read more

This is a very large goodwill. There was a lot of decent furniture and more home goods than the Royersford one. I saw that there were a lot of clothes but I didn't get a chance to look at them. This place has great items and it used to be great to shop there. Now things are priced way too high. Sometimes you get home and see you could have gotten something new for even cheaper. It was a much better shopping experience 4-5 years ago. You could walk in there and find your diamond in the rough. It was the allure of going there. Now I have a better chance of finding better deals on eBay. If I didn't know any better it seems that's where they get their prices from. I shopped there because I dont have much money and like to own some nicer things. Things that people drop off for free expecting someone to get a good deal so they can own some nicer things that they normally wouldn't have. I started to go to thrift shops owned by churches and its like this place used to be years ago. Nice products but too expensive and the prices are very inconsistent. Its obvious everyone and their mother does the pricing there. Its disheartening when you get home and find you could have purchased the same item online new. read more

I have shopped at a lot of Goodwill stores over the years. The Phoenixville store seems more pricey than others. $20.00 for a pair of shoes, even designer shoes, is over the top. The merchandise is used and donated. I understand it is non-profit, but most people who shop Goodwill do so because of their limited income. read more

Oh my, my favorite Goodwill has gone down hill. First the prices started to climb to the point where I can find a lot of items cheaper on sale at a regular store. Then they started putting out junk, I mean real junk. Stuff you couldn't give away. Now, it's just full of junk. The selection of clothing and housewares is sparse compared to how it was just a year ago. I went yesterday, just to check and see and if things had gotten better and it was much worse. Very limited in clothing, but full of JUNK. The prices haven't gotten better either, they were asking $8 for a twin size, low quality, super worn and faded from use, flat sheet! $8 for a used flat sheet! You can buy a BRAND NEW flat sheet for $2 at IKEA! Seriously Phoenixville Goodwill management, what are you thinking? I think I'll be shopping yard sales, regular store sales, and IKEA from now on. If you ever return to you're previous stocking and pricing, I'll be back. But for now, you've lost me as a customer and I'm telling everyone I know. I'm even telling people I don't know. read more
