I've been coming to this particular location since it opened approximately 20 years ago. What we've gotten over the last 10 years has been mostly Halloween and Christmas decorations and sweaters for ugly sweater party's. I've mostly been a donator who always picks this location to bring my stuff because it's The closest Goodwill to a small city that is economically disadvantaged. The people of said city need only take a short bus ride to shop at this Goodwill that has many high quality clothing items because of its proximity to Swarthmore. The donation area is out back at a garage door and is usually staffed by one or two people.If donating try avoid a Saturday because it's a madhouse.Your best bet is to get here before 3 o'clock on a weekday because it gets busy there after. read more

Went there to drop off about five bags of clothes and shoes. They've added an automated way to get your receipt (if you want one) which is much appreciated. Fellow with whom I left the clothes was very nice, very professional. read more

Has what it needs. Would be nice if CDs were attempted to be organized and with price updates without having to ask. Can't call to ask if they have something in stock and have to come in and look around but that may be standard par for the course but not sure. read more

Made another donation a few months ago. This time it was a BIG one, with mid-century vintage furniture and home decor items that were worth quite a bit of money. In the past I would have listed these items on CL, priced in the hundreds of dollars, and I would have sold it for that, quickly. But in recent years CL has turned into a nightmare of prank emails, no-show pick-ups, and spam, so we gave in and decided to donate a very very nice carload of items to Goodwill. We chose Swarthmore Goodwill over the very-close Berwyn, and the very-far Boothwyn, because we felt in Swattytown there would be a good market for the mid-century items we were selling. No one in the gaudy Berwyn McMansions buys used furniture, and in Boothwyn we didn't think a lot of people would want to pay as much as Swathmore, thus our carefully-planned choice, aimed at getting Goodwill the most income. This time, no one was there to receive the items, and when I went in the back door to find someone, the whole place was stuffed to the ceilings with donations. The hallways, the loading dock, EVERYWHERE was brimming with bags and furniture, piled as high as gravity would allow. I felt wrong to walk too deep into the maze of stuff, but I kept calling for someone to help me and no one replied. I could hear people talking farther down the hall, so I finally found some employees. They looked annoyed to see me. I asked what I should do with my donation? (why else would I be there?) I was surprised that no one offered help, nor went back out with me, to take our stuff. I was dismissively told to just unload it in the parking lot by the concrete loading dock, and if I wanted a receipt, there was a clipboard out there where I could take a form. Really? I had authentic Hollywood Regency furniture items, that I was afraid would be stolen before they could even be received. Another woman donating, literally stopped unloading from her car to come over and look at one item I had just unpacked, and she began telling her friend how much she wanted it. (You know how people have a conversation in front of you when you're 2 feet away, and they pretend you're not there? Weirdo.) I mention this just to show you how legit nice some of the furniture was, so it's clear I am not exaggerating what we were trying to give them. Normally people making donations are just getting rid of stuff; it is rare to have someone who is purging junk out of their house, stop and claim they want another donor's furniture. And this lady looked really snooty too, so the loot had to be worth it enough for her to condescend. Ahhh people and their love of pretty things! I felt like I had to stick around to guard the stuff so it went to Goodwill, and helped charity, rather than getting robbed. My husband and I both got the worst vibe from this place this time. This was the biggest, most expensive donation we've ever made, and no one was there to receive it, plus other donors wanted to take it out from under us. We lingered for about 10 minutes, and still none of the workers came out to supervise. We left our large pile, hoping no thief would come take it. read more

Stopped in here looking for a pair of jeans or just to look around. I was disappointed because they had very little worth looking at. Lots of dressy suits and that kind of stuff. Won't go again. read more

This is a relatively large, clean, and well-lit thrift store. They have several fitting rooms which is great if you are planning to buy clothes here. In my opinion, the clothes were a bit overpriced, though. The houseware section was extremely sparse but there were some nice pieces of furniture that were priced to move. read more

This store is a little smaller than the Holmes, Pa location but found some great stuff. I love treasure hunts and I always seem to find something useful. My next stop is Clifton Heights. read more

What was once a spot I checked regularly because of the great deals has now turned into a place selling only overpriced junk. Once upon a time I found a vintage buffet for $12, cute Pyrex for $2 and some amazing framed prints for less than $5. Doesn't that sound wonderful? Today I found $50 80s furniture that belongs on the curb, $8 clear Pyrex that you can buy for $7 new at Walmart, and a cracked planter for $5. I can't imagine what the prices would look like if I found something worth buying. read more

Nice selection of jeans, household items, and now they have "boutique" items of clothing which is fair to average - and some items are too expensive. Like any secondhand store, its hit or miss. On my last visit I found 6 very nice quality long skirts that are in fashion. They used to have a very nice book selection, but after renovations, there are no more books. I also found nice children's toys and very nice children's clothing. The only downer is that prices are not on most items. Nor is pricing readily posted throughout the store. I got to the counter and found out that some items were more expensive than I was willing to pay (boutique clothing). Sales staff was quite friendly and I noticed them moving around the store, stocking, etc. Not bad overall. I'd certainly return. read more

Used to be a good place to shop. Lately, at this location, they are marking the prices up so outrageously high they are even higher than the big retail chains store Walmart, best buy etc...for used junk. Dont believe me stop in and check out their prices for yourself. But Buyer Beware...If you buy something check it carefully before you leave the store. They will try to scam you by taping boxes up to make items appear new. Then you get the item home and open it only to find that its broken, dirty inside, missing peices and doesnt work. Even worse its not even the same item listed on the box. I have had to return items that didn't work here. Due to the rising prices I dont shop here as much and would rather just buy new. At least I get a guarantee that I can return the item if it doesn't work and get my money back. Seen the same stuff thats been sitting on the shelf for many months not selling due to their high prices. read more
