Yesterday Thursday, February 5, 2026 I returned a canteen that I purchased a few days earlier. After I brought the canteen home, I cleaned the inside out and noticed that it was leaking terribly. When I inspected I noticed a very large hole which was not visible with the naked eye. Fortunately I kept the receipt and presented it to the store manager. All I wanted was a store credit. I paid $7.99 for it. She then told me because I had removed the price tag that there was nothing she could do for me. Fortunately $7.99 is not a big deal for me. However, I have bought several items from this store and have rounded up on several occasions. I would think that the receipt would be more proof of purchase than a simple price tag. When I bought it the last thing on my mind was that it was going to leak. I removed the tag when I washed the canteen. The store policy is very unfair to customers that support this business. Never again will I step foot in this store. It certainly is not one of the cleaner and organized store. In fact, it is quite dirty and unorganized. I shop at Goodwill frequently and this is a nice store. I bought a winter cap, new blanket & shirt for only $8.50 total including tax. The inventory is ok but they did not have sleeping bags which I was looking to buy. The location is great at Southern & McClintock with ample center parking. Recommended. read more

Even when I'm just window-shopping this Goodwill location is my go-to spot. I don't know how to describe its difference except to say it just has a diversity of goods being donated. I come here again & again and always find something totally different and totally unexpected. And when they have the half-price off sale every other Saturday I am sure to find something wonderful and new. Take my advice and shop this location. read more

This is the Goodwill store that used to be around the corner in the same shopping mall but with the McClintock address. I believe it moved about a year ago to this location which is a larger store. I've actually had pretty good luck at this Goodwill recently. I've been here on previous trips and have come in 3 or 4 different times this trip. I always find some things that I can use or that I like. It's not the closest one to me but if I feel like driving that direction then I will stop by, especially on the 50 percent off Saturdays. One bonus is it is next to a Sprouts Market, the Arizona Art Supply store, and across the street from the Coldstone Ice Cream. This last time I was in here I stopped into the Outback restaurant for lunch, a place that I had never been to before. The store seems to be clean and organized, as much as it can be with all the people that go through messing it up. The prices are not too bad, though all the Goodwills are not as reasonable as they used to be. But on the half price Saturdays every other week you can really do well. read more

I'm homeless and I finally got a job interview and today I was at the housing program and when I came back the city had thrown all of my stuff away. So I went to the goodwill thinking they might be able to help me wow was I so wrong. The manager darel was an absolute jerk. I told him my problem and he told me no and I had to leave his store. I didn't steal anything n never would. I tried going about things the right right way and this is what I get. Now I can't go to my job interview and continue to be homeless. He was so rude. Goodwill is sopposed to help people in need. This manager was so rude. I should of just stood the outfit and left but I couldn't so I do the right thing and get treated like a scum bag. read more

We go to goodwill all the time to find clothes furniture and Knick knacks, the other day my wife took a chance on buying a toaster oven and a vacuume. She plugged them In and the lights came on so she assumed they work but against my better judgement she bought them. So today I took them out to clean them so I plugged them in. To test there overall performance and like I thought they didn't work. Why in the HELL doesn't goodwill test these products first. Because they don't care that's why. Don't buy any electronics or anything like that. There is a reason why people donate to goodwill and that's the reason. Shame on you goodwill read more

Big location, lots of parking, pretty clean and well organized store. They are true to thier hours and the items are in pretty good shape most of the time. It is a CRAZY house on 1/2 Saturdays. I usually avoid it then, but promised my mom we'd go & things haven't changed, its a mad house on that day. haha Enjoy the store if you are looking for random items, don't count on it for something specific (I usually have to head to a few locations for that. Usually there is a specific that is half price during the week and daily specials like senior days, military and teacher day etc. Seasonal items aren't a part of the sales but time-to-time they will have a special on these (like Christmas in July). read more

My two daughters worked at a location this location and one daughter worked at the location in Yuma Arizona both of my daughters are disabled in different ways they were ridiculed made fun of rumors spread and treated very rude when one of my daughters had a seizure in the morning of her shift I called and she called and the manager was extremely rude and made no accommodations for her after this experience with my daughters and Goodwill I will never shop there again and I will tell as many people as I can what a horrible place this is and how they completely do not hold up their motto of helping the community read more

About the same as the other locations. There's been a change in how they run the store. No longer do they announce 15/10/5 minutes 'til closing. Now someone walks up to you And notifies you that they're closed. The lady that did this to me was super nice and actually made me laugh. Good sense of humor and business sense. They've also changed their pricing and sale deals. It'll take time to adjust. They took away all the daily specials but recently reintroduced the Seniors Day. I'm gonna get the Seniors made a huge stink. So some days there's a good deal, some days the prices are a joke and you wonder who hired the people that price the DONATIONS. Goodwill makes a good profit from others DONATIONS , and they occasionally price things closer to the actual retail price, but ftmp I think you can find some useful things for a good deal. I've picked up ceiling can blades And light shades And have ceiling fans a completely different look. Found tulle netting to use in my garden to protect seedlings. Got four of the plastic thingamabobs you use to raise your bed for less than $8 and came across some nice wood ones in a box at this store a few days later but didn't need another set. Flower pots, books, tchotchke's of all sorts, tools and just about anything else you might think you need. And then they ask for additional cash donations when you bring your purchase to the register. My donations and my purchases is enough. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience here. I arrived to pick up a few household items after moving to Tempe from another state. I arrived at Goodwill and was discouraged at the disorder. I was hoping to find picture frames and found a rack of miscellaneous items jumbled and piled on top of each other full of frames, trinkets and other items that didn't seem to belong together. It was to the point that I had to literally dig to find anything. I then went further to the back of the store and found the actual rack for the frames after spending 30 minutes digging. I then found furniture I was hoping to purchase, and there was not an employee in sight (the whole time I was there). I figured I would ask at the front if I could get some assistance while I was checking out my other, smaller items. I waited in line at the designated spots while customers and employees putting items away passed directly by me (which was besides the point of having floor markers in a pandemic). I finally arrived at the cash register where I was treated disrespectfully while trying to be helpful with staff, when they informed me they were sorry they were just "stressed out". I then attempted to ask about the furniture. They asked if I had a ticket and I told her no. I offered to pay for my items and come back to buy the furniture. They told me "lets just get this paid for", and I was shooed away. I then went out to my car to drop off the smaller items I'd purchased and came back, looked for an available employee, didn't find one, then waited in line again. I arrived at the other cash register where I told the person I was hoping to buy some of the furniture. They told me to get over there, then proceeded to call an associate to the furniture over the intercom. I waited for ten minutes while five staff passed by me to walk in and out of the bathroom, none of them looking available to speak. When I left without purchasing any furniture, there were five staff standing at the front of the building having what looked like was (hopefully) a meeting. I'm not sure if this is normal for this location or not, but in comparison to any other locations I've visited, I was very unimpressed. Employees need to be trained BETTER or just know time management skills and when to call for help. If you have a line of 5+ customers and have to leave the register for an item... maybe call someone up to help you and If you get a call in the middle of this also maybe place them on hold for a moment. Mostly always TERRIBLE experiences at this Goodwill and the inventory is shit. There are plenty of other Goodwills in the Tempe area to go to, I would highly recommend avoiding this one. read more

I've been shopping at this Goodwill on and off esp since it's so close to ASU...but after today's experience I'm sorry I won't be shopping again. I walked in with my boyfriend and was greeted nicely by the lady at front. I went over to look at the dresses (horrible old lady selection unlike what I was used to; there used to be cute styles but this is the third Goodwill that has been like this) and not 3 minutes later this other lady stops me and tells me I need to check my bag. The door says check all backpacks and duffels. I have a very small purse on my shoulder that's literally just holding my sunglasses and wallet. I feel maybe I was targeted as I "look different" (purple hair) and am younger because I look around and there are other shoppers with their belongings. She was condescending when "explaining" how to check the bag up front. Sorry but I'm not leaving my expensive belongings behind just to take a 5 minute peek for one dress and be treated like a thief even though I did nothing. Not coming back!! read more

I went in this goodwill and thought the staff were really friendly, I want to give recognition to a staff member her name is Diane. Right when she came to let people into the fitting rooms she started up conversation with me it wasn't just a "hi how u doing" it was more personal. She made me, feel very welcome. Because of her I will go back to this goodwill even though it's a 15 min drive from where I live. read more

This is my first time coming to this location and it was ok. Pretty small but organized. Plenty of workers around so if you have questions they were nice to answer them. I went there to drop off donations and to buy some books. The book selection is ok and being that is was the color pink day (half off) I paid attention to those books. The books seems a little pricey. I was expecting nothing more than $2 for books. I would come back but it wouldn't be my first choice for book bargain shopping. read more

Definitely would suggest a different goodwill, because first of all the cashiers got attitude. Although the clothes are trendy and priced quit reasonably some happen to be to pricy for the quality of the item. So I'm going to leave it at this goodwill needs a new staff asap and lower prices. Also I'm not going to goodwill to get Walmart prices I'm going to goodwill to snatch a spicy deal and some good quality hand me downs. Plus the staffs attitude of I do say again is so crazy. One time I was pushed by a worker while looking for a water bottle, because apparently there wasn't enough room in the area for the worker to move without making a confrontation. read more

I stopped by yesterday evening, and found a couple small items. I went to go checkout, and when I showed her my 20% off coupon, the cashier wouldn't accept it because it was an Oct one.. so its the 2nd of Nov!.. usually those emails don't come through in time, and every other location, including this one will grant you the grace period. Considering the entire business is IN BUSINESS bc of our local donations. After I stood there for what felt like 10 mins to reload my email on my phone, I was able to pull up the updated one, I showed her. The cashier then tells me how she'll be sure to tell corporate that other locations allow the 5 day window for the coupon use. Talk about bad customer service..I understand if this was a coupon from a few months ago.. but they are the same coupons EVERY MONTH..diff barcode (so what) they don't scan it..they punch in a code. Any who, she made it a point to be shitty, and decent customer service is hard to find.. this was a shining example. read more

this location is kept clean and organized, which makes things easy to find when in a hurry like i happened to be in today. one of the staff members seemed a little irked by the fact that i accidentally let the dressing room door close behind me on my way out, and seemed a bit confused when i asked him if i could leave few items of the clothes that i had decided not to buy with him because he was standing right next to the rack used for items going back out onto the floor. i didn't think much of that interaction because the clerk at the checkout counter was more than respectful. every item with a green tag on it happened to be on sale for a dollar so that was a pleasant surprise. i went inside to buy a pair jeans and i came outside with a bracelet, a jacket, a pair of jeans, a shirt and a poncho. goodwill always has been and always will be my favorite store in the universe! read more
