I guess it is official. GOODWILL is ANTI-CHILDREN! I went to the goodwill in Decatur Georgia on Lawrenceville Hwy and had a terrible encounter with their over zealous security guard. This big burley guy kept approaching my 11 year old granddaughter and her 9 and 7 year old siblings because they reached the toy section before I did. Though I used a different isle to get there, I was there before he reached them. When I asked him why he was approaching them he said he wanted to say something because even though he saw me ...they got there before I did. Made no sense to me but whatever. Moments later he was saying something to her again. This time we were all in the same isle. I could see them all. They were just standing waiting for me while I looked at dresses. I asked now what is the problem? His response made no sense. He actually approached her for the third time. I asked him to leave her alone and to speak to me the adult if there was a problem. It felt stalkish. These are well mannered children not running, not talking loud and not touching items that would make them unsafe. Why he kept approaching the kids and not me I could not understand. He just kept saying it is Goodwill's policy. Then he goes and get a manager and told her I requested her.. The manager tells me about Goodwill policy and I explained that I am right there with the children so are you saying they are not welcome because we are only trying to shop liKenat any other store. She told me "This is not any other store , this is Goodwill And this is our policy"I am confused. Am I not allowed to bring children with me ? Do I have to submit my grand children to harassment if I do? Just because they are children does not give you the right to disrespect them just as they are not allowed to disrespect their elders ( which is what they are taught). How would you feel if it was your children? Is Goodwill not A family friendly environment? I feel if an adult is present and you are a grown man .... you should approach the adult and not repeatedly approach an eleven year old girl. You are still a stranger and for the life of me I can not understand why you are addressing her and not me. read more

Come on. What's not to like. Plenty of stuff people don't want anymore. Get some new jeans for under 10 bucks. Broken in and just the way you like them. Shirts, jackets whatever, not so sure about prepared shoes. Kind of like using public showers without shower shoes. In my opinion not much different than used underwear which they don't sell. I'm not sure why because if some guys junk is touching it, what makes it different than a swimsuit, and I'm pretty sure people pee in those. Not for me. But then I wOnder how many people have gone commando in the jeans I buy. read more

Pretty standard Goodwill with a typical selection of clothes and household goods. There were at least ten each of televisions and DVD players for very low prices. I get the feeling this building was once a Best Buy, which makes it some sort of justice. read more

It is set up like all other Goodwill's in ATL with everything in almost the same place. Goodwill has standard prices for a lot of their items that are the same in all its stores. What's happening to the Goodwill stores in Stone Mountain, Centerville, Lilburn, and Decatur? Eight years ago I would leave these stores with shopping carts full of merchandise...great merchandise! However, I haven't purchased more than three items since May 2018. I can't find anything to spend my money on. The selection is of poor quality and is uninteresting. The women's bags and shoes are mostly plastic and cheap. These stores are full of Walmart brands. What's happened to all the good quality stuff to buy? Has Offer Up, Letgo and Facebook Marketplace taken over? Are people selling their "great" stuff on Poshmark, Amazon, and eBay instead of donating? Or, worse, is Goodwill cherry picking and sending the "better" stuff to higher real estate areas like Buckhead, and Roswell? read more

I came here last week with my two kids . I went to find jeans for work I ended spending 80 due to my kids even though it was for me . Anyways variety of jeans was very nice . I will be coming back for more but when I'm alone in the past I had found good things I had bought my daughter a cupcake kit maker who knew you can microwave a cupcake batter for 30 or 60 sec and boom cupcake ready . There is one man who takes donations who is lovely. I believe he is Ethiopian. I say that to differentiate him from the famously rude man that takes donations. He is ATROCIOUSLY rude. He clearly doesn't want donations and will find anything to complain about. Some of the staff is great, then there are some that need to take a class in customer service. As many are catching on, Goodwill pulls the tag that will be on sale the day before, leaving tons of it in the back and then brings it back out once the tag color has changed. For a place that doesn't pay for it's stock, one would think they wouldn't be so deceptive. read more

If I could give it zero stars for dropping off donations if I could. Had a horrible experience with Robert who takes in donations. When I dropped off a whole car load of donations he rolled his eyes, huffed and puffed, and actually talked back when I asked him if anything was wrong and could he please help. He wouldn't lift a finger. This is supposed to be a non-profit that appreciates and runs off of donations. Not a pleasant or thankful experience. He needs reminded to accept and help with a grateful heart and if you cannot accept kindly without an attitude, then don't work at a non-profit. I shop here sometimes and find some pretty good buys! You have to go with a open mind. I found a very gently used DKNY purse, a beautiful dish set, Nintendo DS games, books, baking pans and more at this location. I recently went to drop off some clothes and home items as I'm starting spring cleaning. Omg the drop off was the quickest ever!! I pulled to the side of the building and someone came out immediately and took my items. Took all of 3 minutes! I usually put my items outside my home for pickup, but usually forget to put it outside so this works out really well for me. I'll definitely be returning for drop off/shopping. read more

I waited 20 minutes for the men's fitting room. I decided not to purchase $60 worth of merchandise. The customer service is terrible.

I wouldn't even give them this one star if I didn't make me. Ok Let's get into it so I've been coming to the same Goodwill. Every weekend with my daughter for the last six months and even though the store has a lot of options they employees and management are trash I brought to them when issue that every time I come into their store I have to go to another store just to pull out money because their car reader won't read my BB&T card. When I brought this problem to the manager after this has happened three weekends in a row she said I "well we don't have those pRoblem with anybody else's card". That all being said she pick the right one to show zero customer service skills towards . I am both a veteran and a criminal justice major I will make it my point this Sunday to let every future customer know about the service that I received whether it's on Google yelp or so on and no I will not ever come back to this Ratchet place again read more
