I have had great experiences here, these guys are generous with their pizza size (my small definitely looked like a large), and are happy to customize and modify to convert menu items to vegan! The burrito I had was great and felt healthy for eating out, and the pizza is delicious, albeit too oily for my taste. I decided to splurge and try the smoothies, which definitely give Erewhon vibes in terms of taste, look, and also price! If you're on a budget I'd say the smoothies are ok to skip, I enjoyed them but the chocolate vegan protein one tastes exactly like the shake I make at home. I like the ambiance of the deli and the vast amount of seating inside and outside. One thing to note is supposedly they stop serving food an hour before the store closes. read more

brought my service dog in with me to the store, and sat down at a table to wait for the smoothie that i ordered. as my dog and i sat waiting, a worker approached us and got uncomfortably close to my face and my dog and told me i could not bring my dog in. i usually don't have any complaints about the staff, they're usually very friendly, but something just felt very weird, off, and uncomfortable about this interaction. read more

It has taken me a few tries to figure out which smoothie I like the most here at Goodwin's, but I determined yesterday that my favorite is going to have to be their tropical smoothie. I believe it has mango, strawberry, banana, and it's blended in apple juice. It's just fruit explosion in your mouth! I really enjoy it and I find the 12oz to be really filling, even though it's their smaller size. I love coming here to satisfy my holistic and organic needs, it's really one of the best stores out here for great quality items. It's clean, it kept up well, and it's always so refreshing inside due to the extra cold air conditioning for their special organic products. When I went to order a smoothie the lady with the red hair at the counter didn't even make eye contact with me and instead had a whole conversation with someone behind me. I thought it wouldn't matter much but after 15 minutes of waiting and noticing the people behind me and other customers got their orders including other smoothies and a whole pizza I finally went to ask if my order was finished. The other workers didn't even know about my order and finished it after I brought it up. It took about 5 minutes. No apologies were given, just looked at my receipt and asked what I ordered. I noticed my friend's receipts said $21, $6 and $5 plus some change. Rounded up, total should've been $35.00 at most. She got a notice from the bank on her phone that they charged her $45.00. Went back up to the cashier to talk to them about it and ask for a copy of the receipt. The cashier couldn't provide that. Weird. She came to the table to talk to us and said she couldn't get a copy of the receipt because we aren't members. Super shady. I come to Goodwin's often because I really like their smoothies, even though time stands still when waiting for your order. But after today's experience, I don't ever want to come back. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for accountability from so many staff all at once. We waited at least 20 minutes for drinks and it wasn't till after somebody who we for sure knew, definitely ordered well after us got their drinks that we spoke up. Unfortunately a 20 minute wait seems like the norm given past experiences so we didn't question it until that moment. Mind you, we were waiting the entire time in the dining area patiently waiting and standing facing towards the smoothie counter. Only one 24oz blue majik was made and there was a large gap in time and orders between that and the one 16oz Goodwin green that came out. My order was for both of those but in 24oz. When we finally approached the counter the 16oz Goodwin green remained unclaimed. After showing our receipt they claimed someone took our drinks. I said no there was never a 24oz green Goodwin made, the staff swore up and down that they made both. After looking back on their scratched out writing on a notebook they realized only one Goodwin green had been ordered and it was indeed a 24oz, not the 16oz they made... They recognized the error amongst themselves but didn't at that point or any other point apologized but shouted "I'm making them now!" Funny that they are capable of raising their voices above a whispering tone when they're wrong but not when taking or calling out orders. After that they tried poring the old 16oz back into the blender that had been sitting out for almost 10 mins to save time making a new one. My boyfriend asked if he can get a fresh one and rightfully so. The lady did not acknowledge him and annoyingly stormed off to the back to rinse out the blender. Took them less than 5 minutes to make these smoothies. So they are capable of faster service... I know accidents happen and would've been much more understanding of that had they been at LEAST apologetic or heck wouldn't have hurt to throw in an extra brownie (I bought two) or something along those lines. But no instead we were met with cold passive aggressive attitudes with absolute no accountability or even a simple "I'm so sorry". It didn't help they asked another lady who ordered after us if she was waiting or had been helped already. We had been there much longer but was not given that courtesy. Don't ever argue with the customer before checking the facts, you know you made a mistake just own it and fix it because there's so much more respect in that then acted like a child that's just been scolded by a parent to pick up their toys. No eye contact and cold flat tones when calling out our orders. The little guy in the back during them fixing their error oddly stood in the back and just kept poking his head around the corner to stare us down. Anyways, I'll end on a positive note, the tall gentleman working the front with the long dark hair and the young white girl with red hair that has worked the front register in the recent past have always been so pleasant, kind and well serving. Very sociable and approachable, unlike the staff in the back. I sadly will not be returning. Back to Robeks and Jamba Juice for me. read more

Yeah, the products are pretty good despite the price, but you can label anything "organic" nowadays, charge triple the actual price and get away with it. But that's not what this review is all about. The staff at the cash register is amazing, but I wanna talk about the staff at the other counter. Ooohh do they make Goodwins look like a pimple in Chris Evan's perfect face! So the other day, I ordered a smoothie, this isn't the first time I ordered a smoothie from them. But every time I do, the sand in my hourglass has already finished its first cycle. So that other day, it was the same story, I got disappointed coz another customer who ordered after me got his smoothie before me. I let that slide and decided to come back to give them another chance. Today, my girlfriend and I each ordered a smoothie. Lo and behold, 15 minutes have elapsed, and still no smoothie. Now we've seen 3 other customers who ordered after us get their smoothies and other orders ahead of us. So we showed our receipt and let the staff know that we still haven't gotten our orders. Instead of apologizing, they pulled the zero accountability card. "Oh someone took your drinks.", meaning they're not gonna take responsibility for something that was entirely their fault. No one could've possibly taken our drinks coz we never saw any 24 oz Blue Majik or 24 oz Goodwin Green make it on top of the counter. Unless these staff members were high as a kite then someone did take our drinks (in the quantum universe). And the lady with the thick red lipstick and horn-rimmed glasses who I assume was the lead there didn't even apologize herself. Unfortunately, this is it for us with you guys. You say Good wins, I say Good Riddance! Oh by the way, that's me being generous with the 1 star, coz I would've wished there was an option for no stars. But obviously it's no where near Erewhon (and that's okay) but they have a small selection of almost everything. They have big brands of oat milk with seed oils. The cafe is not too large, but it's clean, has adequate seating for the number of people frequenting it, and is quiet enough to do work. Free wi-fi is available as well. Pitaya Bowl + hemp protein + chia seed: Tropical pink dragon fruit base topped with bananas, coconut shreds, granola, and mango. We love these types of fruit bowls and liked the fact that this one was not overly sweet. The downside is that the mangos were frozen. Perhaps it could have been improved with some thawing. We requested the addition of hemp protein and chia seed to balance out the carbs and to add omega-3s, but for an additional cost (I believe $1.50 per add-on) Maui Bowl + hemp protein + chia seed: Similar to the Pitaya bowl, but the fruit base consisted of mango, pineapple, and coconut milk. It has many similar positive aspects as the former, and also the same criticisms in that the mangos were frozen. House Coffee (enjoyed black): Bold strong flavor. Not overly acidic. I'm a fan. Overall, the Mrs. and I like their fruit bowls minus a few things they could improve on. I enjoyed their coffee. We don't live close by, so we can't frequent as often as we would like. read more

I've been here to grocery shop a few times and my experiences have always been 10/10, except for today. I went to try the cafe for the first time for some açaí bowls for my husband and I in the morning, When I walked in the menus weren't displayed and when I asked the young guy with brown hair if there were any menus I could look at and he answered me with an attitude saying "I didn't get a chance to put them up yet." Once he began taking my order I had to repeat myself multiple times, he seemed distracted, which is fine maybe he was having an off morning, but while finishing my bowls one of the honey bottles had crystallized so he wasn't able to squeeze it out which apparently upset him so he threw the bottle of honey and snatched another one and put a few drops on each bowl and then threw his gloves on the ground. The bowls were cool but the service from the guy just kind of sucked, he seemed annoyed to be there. read more

I love everything about this place. The price isnt TOO bad compared to sprouts and trader joes. But they have a cute little cafe to get salad and burritos - everything is organic. I do recommend getting a membership to save some $$ as these salads can get a bit pricey . They charge by the pound. I got a salad with lots of protein (which can be heavy) so i ended up spending $15.00 but it was DELICIOUS and convenient . On the other end, they have a smoothie and coffee spot. They serve Acai bowls. Which i LOVE. and these are one of the best açaí bowls i have had in a while. If Whole Foods and Mother's Market & Kitchen had a crossover on a small scale then Goodwin's Organics market would be exactly that. The market itself is relatively small but shelves a good variety of fresh produce and products, making it a one-stop shop for simple organic goods. At the cafe, I ordered a plain acai bowl. It was pretty standard--acai base smoothie with a few toppings. The bowl came out to almost $11, but was topped with basically half granola, 1/4 sliced bananas, 1/4 frozen blueberries (which was kind of a bummer), a bit of coconut shreds, and a light drizzle of honey. Considering the fact that they market itself had a good selection of fresh produce, I was expecting fresh fruits but was surprised with the frozen berries. Pricey, but worth it! This health food market has it all, fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts & seeds, acai bowls, smoothies, juices, water, etc. It's a market, what do you expect, lol! Yes they have a large assortment of all the healthy foods you can ever need. They are always fully stocked up with the freshest ingredients. I spent a whole hour here the first time I came, just going through each isle, taking my time to look at all they offered. They also have two mini cafe/restaurants at either end of the market. One offers fresh pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls, coffee, water, etc. The other side offers a salad bar, soups, pizza (yes freshly made pizza), and desserts. You can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner here with all that they have to offer. The best part of it all is that they are 100% all natural, everything in their store is. So if you are a health nut, do yourself a favor and visit this place, you won't be disappointed. Vegetarians, vegans, clean eaters, and the like, will have plenty to choose from. I used to go to Clark's in downtown Riverside for my go to health food store, and I will continue to go there for their supplements and vitamins, but this place is now my favorite go to from now on, because they offer fresh foods you can eat, you can eat before, or after you shop...or just come in for a quick bite to eat, it's perfect! Their customer service is great, all workers are helpful and are eager to answer your questions. The front cash register attendant was very sweet, and explained how their member program works. I'll make it easy for you, IT'S WORTH IT! I signed up and saved. Basically you pay a one time fee of $30 and you get continuous discounts for being a member, and an extra percentage discount on certain days, and you even get a discount at their restaurants at either side of their store. Totally worth it in my opinion. Plenty of parking here, spacious parking lot. This is situated near the UCR campus, so expect to see a large student community in and around. You guys, I can keep going, but I won't...just visit once, and take your time seeing and asking what they have to offer, I highly recommend this health food market. read more

This store reminds me a lot of Clark's Nutrition located in downtown Riverside. The store is located in the new building of that strip mall. The center of the building is the grocery store, and attached to either end of the building is a food cafe on one side and a drinks (acai bowl) cafe on the other. I ordered the Acai Bowl with almond butter on top. It tasted good and fresh, but I wasn't too thrilled with the watery consistency of the blended acai. If I am in the area and I'm craving an acai bowl or a quiet place to work, I might come back and give it a try. But their acai bowl wasn't good enough for me to crave or worth driving out of the way. read more

Granted, they also have meats and cheeses at their deli, but it has that really organic fresh taste I miss. Soups, salad bar, a small selection of hot dishes, pizza, fresh fruit. We bought our lunch and sat outside in the shaded patio with our dog. A ground beef & bean & rice burrito on whole wheat tortilla, a slice of vegetable pizza (they have their own open fire oven), an herbal baked chicken thigh, ratatouille, and a handful of roasted Brussel sprouts. All good tasting, although the chicken was overcooked. Prices, pretty high, because they charge by weight, it came to $17. Still, I would eat there again.
