Yesterday, my husband and I tried their taiyaki cup with soft serve ice cream/yogurt. I had ube but it did not taste like ube at all. It has a hint of tea, a taste like my iron supplement and salt. My husband confirmed the taste and said that it is not ube at all just food coloring. He on the other hand had a better taste-chocolate and vanilla which no one should make a mistake. It is not too creamy or sweet. The taiyaki and sides are good though. The service is fast. The place is clean. The restroom is not available the whole time we are there. I should have tried their boba drinks instead. Next time, I'll try their classic taiyaki and boba. I am hoping that it will be a better experience for us. read more

Amazingly friendly service. Lady at the counter was super accommodative and helpful. First time trying taiyaki ice cream and we loved it. The texture of the soft serve is between icy and creamy which I loved. Flavors were not too sweet to our liking. I ordered a fruit tea which was overly sweet but it was my mistake that I didn't mention adjusting the sweetness. Overall great place for ice cream! read more

Shop has a nice and clean aesthetic and the staff greets you and the girl who helped me was open to any questions we had about the menu. I ended up ordering the taiyaki fish come with ice cream and it also comes with a filling of your choice included. I got the black sesame flavor ice cream with the custard filling. It was nice and refreshing for the hot day and the fish shaped cone is a very unique idea however the ice cream flavor wasn't really coming through for me and the ice cream itself felt very water based. I did enjoy the dessert though and I will probably stop again and try another flavor. read more

Huge serving of soft serve and takoyaki! Unique flavors like matcha and strawberry horchata soft serve and fillings (we got the matcha custard). The matcha itself is not very sweet (which I like). We also tried the lychee strawberry green tea boba which was alright. Overall it's a conveniently casual shop with limited seating but plenty of outdoor seating and areas to walk around. read more

This place is so cute! From the decor to the food. The man making the fish was so adorable. He was energetic and peppy when serving us. We ordered the Hokkaido boba. Okay. 3/5 Taiyaki with filling (Nutella, taro, custard, red bean, Oreo) 3/5. Came on a Saturday evening. Wasn't busy at all. They offer the kiosk or the register to order. The kiosk different offer everything on the menu. So ordered at the register. The staff was rude didn't really care. First time here and I wanted to know what the best selling ice cream was but they answered with one word. But overall the place is clean. So many items to choose from. The serving size is was too much for a child, so just be mindful. We weren't able to finish one serving size. Also the chocolate ice cream was already melting by the time we got it. Which was weird. But the strawberry and horchata swirl was really good. Chocolate was decent just didn't like how it was melting. Would definitely come back. read more

Break the Ice is a local dessert place in Riverside county with a Korean flair. We stopped by for dessert after a big lunch to satisfy our craving for boba. Their signature item is the taiyaki ice cream reminiscent of Somi Somi. We ordered the horchata/strawberry milk and taro/matcha taiyaki ice cream. The consistency of the ice cream was not creamy or rich but more icy, and so it wasn't as good as it appears. Super aesthetic though! In terms of cleanliness, customer service, and atmosphere, it is a nice quiet shop with ice cream or boba options. A friend and I were in the area and wanted a sweet treat. I saw in the window that they sold boba and taiyaki, which I was surprised about. We went in, there are two entrances, side and the front. There was bar seating and tables inside as well as patio seating outside. The shop looks like your typical ice cream shop, with blue, white, and yellow accents along the walls and decor. It looks very sweet. The servers greeted us when we came in and said to let them know if we had any questions. The menu is on a wall and there are alot of options. There's the taiyaki, soft serve, milk tea, fruit tea, and smoothies. I chose the speciality drink (lavender with taro wave boba) and my friend the Thai tea with 2 piece taiyaki with Nutella filling. We didn't wait too long for our orders. There is also a restroom inside. I really like my drink but it very sweet and there was a lot of boba in it. Came here for a sweet treat after having a hard day. Instant pick-me-up! The employee was energetic, enthusiastic, and kind! He helped us right away, and even offered a recommendation. He was also very quick/efficient, as he had both of our drinks and taiyaki ice creams out in under five minutes! We tried to tip but there wasn't an option in the tablet, so we went to the ATM at Ralph's to get cash for a tip haha Everything was delicious! The strawberry milk tea and Thai tea were flavorful, yet not overly sweet- just right. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream was strongly caffeinated, which I appreciated the energy boost! And the Taro ice cream was very refreshing in the hot weather! Worst experience I've ever had at a boba place! They were sooo unhelpful and were not friendly at all... both the drinks I got had ZERO flavor and tasted disgusting I threw mine out! The ice cream had an odd flavor. They got my order wrong and we went to ask if it could get replaced. The worker took forever and then I overheard another worker complaining saying "they asked for custard so what do they even want us to do". I didn't not ask for custard. This place is located in a spacious plaza and there are also plenty of space and area not only for your car, but for yourself! There are bar seating, and regular tables and chairs inside as well as just outside of it. We came in on a weeknight to try the strawberry milk tea. They make the drink really quick! We placed the order, paid, and it took a couple minutes before they called out for us to pick it up. The drink itself is very pink and very sweet!! I think next time I would have to adjust the sweet level here. Otherwise the place is neat, customer service is good, and I would try the other drinks/snacks on the menu. read more

The vanilla had no flavor, but the cookie monster was delicious but the amount of ice cream is very generous. The lady at the counter was very quiet and rarely talked, didn't greet anyone that entered. My favorite thing of it all had to be the Taiyaki filled with nutella! It seems to be a popular place as there was a long line when we got here on a Friday night. The workers were helpful and let us try out some of the soft serve flavors as it was our first time. The flavors were good but not the best. The vanilla reminded me of the soft serve you get at buffets. They do offer unique soft serve flavors so there are many more that you may enjoy. I decided on the Matcha. It was the best flavor for me. Subtle and not too sweet. The Taiyaki was crunchy and soft. I really enjoyed it! I would return and just get a couple of Taiyaki's with Nutella filling. They have a restroom and minimalist decor. They have a cute stand that's somewhat of a photo op. I was pleasantly surprised when driving by the area that there was a highly rated boba place I hadn't been to before. When I walked in, I was surprised by how busy it was. There was a line for the kiosk and after I ordered my drinks, the line was consistently to the door. There was a very wide selection of drinks to choose from and I appreciate them having unique flavors and twists to drink. I was contemplating between a matcha einspanner and the oksusu (corn) matcha latte. When I asked if there was a way to mix the two, Taylor was super friendly and helpful to explain how each drink was made and differed from one another and then took the time to give me options on how I could change up my drink. I ended up going with the oksusu matcha latte because the Korean in me loves corn drinks but Taylor had the barista add a rim of matcha syrup that you typically get in the einspanner. I loved the oksusu flavored foam with the little crunchy puffs. The matcha flavor was a little lighter than I typically like but still props for the unique take. My hubby got the Hokkaido milk tea. It was definitely a very sweet drink with a caramel like syrup in it which is different than how we've had Hokkaido milk tea at other boba places. The server seemed genuinely delighted to describe the ingredients in each flavor that interested me. My only wish is that they had someplace to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. There is only a service window and it's up to the customer to find some place to sit. Eating my cone in the car on a nice day like today wasn't so bad, but I wouldn't want to have to do it in the heat of summer.
