I wanted to place an order for a birthday cake. Made a call and was instructed to go on their website to place and order. The website was not equip to take orders as there was no options available for such actions. I called again, I informed them that I was unable to place an order on the website and would it be possible to write it down on paper. A staff member Idtel answered me in a impatient and rude manner. I understand it can be busy in the cafe, however I need some help with ordering a cake which was impossible. I'm a big fan of full English breakfast so I wanted to see if there was anywhere for Irish breakfast. It's legitimately the same dish but I was happy to find it either way. I was t disappointed at all. The lady behind the counter started cooking it as soon as I ordered it and it didn't take long at all. The food had good flavor to it and it was reasonably priced at 13€ for the dish. My wife got a sausage roll and was pleased with it. We liked it so much we came back the next day. I got Peach Custard Danish and it was amazing. I could've eaten more than one of them. My wife got the butter and bread pudding, she was pleased again. I recommend it to others. read more

We went here for breakfast on our last morning in Dublin because it was close to our bnb. Immediately upon walking in I was impressed by the set up and display of delicious looking pastries. The decor was cute and friendly. Since we were hungry and wanted to fill up for the day, we opted for food and didn't get any pastries, even though they looked amazing. There isn't a wide range of food options, but they have staples like eggs and French toast. I got the Avocado and Poached Eggs with cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and tomato over brown bread. It was absolutely fantastic - the cream cheese was somehow toasted and meshed so well with the avocado. While it took longer than I expected for the food to come, the wait was worth it. The price was also acceptable for the amount of food we got. Next time I'm in Dublin I'm coming back here! read more

This place caught my eye because of their colorful and scrumptious cakes display. It reminded me of traditional Portuguese and Brazilian bakeries so I had to surrender to my sweet tooth and give it a go. The location is great - 2 min walk from the Spire. There are some good prices depending on your choice but a big cup of americano goes for 2.50 and there are plenty of pastries, sandwiches, take away fresh baguettes and almondino (superb almond cake really moist and sweet). Right next to where you pay they have some "samples of the day"- like bread and chilli sauce for example. The only problem would be that many people arrive and sit and after waiting for a while realize that you must go to the counter to order and pay. And the place is very small with a couple of wooden chairs that are ok but not the most comfortable seating. read more

This place is cute...! I have passed in front of it a few times and never tried. I was attracted by their colorful cake window and this time I had to try them. I loved the internal decoration. Everything is clean and organized and detailed. The sandwiches are a kinda of expensive and not so attractive as the cakes (4.80 to eat in). I had one and it was just ok. The carrot cKe was good and it comes in a big peace. My friend had the strawberry tart and apparently it was divine =) Coffees were good too and cost about 2,80 - 3 euros. I was so excited to try this cafe- the food looks amazing, filling up cabinets and counter space with sweet abundance. Unfortunately, the server was rude and somehow inattentive- quite an achievement as it's difficult not to notice people when they are standing at the counter in front of you. Unfortunately, we were also unanimously not completely in love with our food. It was very dry and just couldn't live up to how delicious it looked which was a bit sad. With a big window display full of beautiful pastries and an airy inviting room, the Wooden Whisk doesn't go unnoticed to those passing by on Talbot St. A few doors down another bakery had closed shop recently so this new place fills the gap with added flair. There's no table service, which is a bit disappointing, so you need to order at the counter before sitting down. It's a nice place for a morning or afternoon snack. The staff is also a bit distant and not particularly friendly. The pastries and cakes I've tried were pleasant but toothachingly sweet and a bit dear - I still think €3,5 for an éclair is a bit too much. The icings especially should have a lot less sugar, so that you could taste the rest of the ingredients. They also sell various kinds of bread - very good and fresh -, and after 6pm they put them at a lower price to sell out that day's stock, which is perfect if you want to pick some fresh bread before dinner. All in all, an alright place and a very welcome addition to this part of town, but it could do with some changes. read more

I was strolling around near Talbot street with the girlfriend and... GO TOBANN... I was hungry! We passed by this little place and saw the giant scones in the window and thought why not? It was a nice little place decorated with wooden spoons and other little bits and pieces of wooden kitchen stuff. The place was well lit with a massive sky light in the ceiling (because if it were in the floor that would probably not work as well) which filled the place with natural light. There is a massive selection of pastries, cakes and sandwiches behind the counter. I also spotted they had a nice little brunch menu too but I was set on having a big ass scone. I ordered a blueberry scone and the lady ordered a raspberry scone. They came with delicious jams and plenty of butter (many places only give you one portion of butter for a scone which, too be perfectly honest, is completely unacceptable). The scone was pretty good, not amazing but a good scone. Plenty of fruit in there and the cake itself was tasty, I've had better but not many. I will definitely be going back there to try the brunch, if not to get more scones. read more

I mean, the place looks great but its quite small and crowded so very loud. But still, their to go coffees are cheap and good so i would reccommend that. We didn't stay long as we had plans. But, I was surprised when walking in. It's very airy and comfortable. The coffee was good. Not great compared to other spots we know. However, their strengths are clearly in baking. Everything looks tasty, colourful and sweet. It didn't know what half the cakes were. But, we'll come back to try them. Next time I go.
