I love coming here. The owner is very sweet and kind. The service is very quick. As with most Korean restaurants, there is a bell at your table to ask for your serve whenever. My favorite is the thick pork belly. It's very hard to find pork belly in that traditional cut at restaurants now. They grill every side and cut it down and repeat until they are bite sized. I like to dip it in the peanut sauce. The sides are plentiful and all very good. The nabe was very flavorful and great in its respective dipping sauce. I like the quick bbq environment. This is a k-bbq spot that specializes in various cuts of intestines (gopchang). There's good service and you can always find a table, but it's really for those who already know and love Korean bbq intestines. If you're trying bbq intestines for the first time, this isn't a bad place to do it, but it's not a great place either. The cuts are sometimes chewier than I expect, and it's not a good representation of how great Korean-style intestines can be. The only explanation I have for how popular this place is that Koreans in America are a little bit too happy to see Korean dishes more obscure than kalbi. That said, the side dishes were great and really refreshing (much love for the 부추김치) and I loved the early 2000s/2NE1/BoA/BigBang vibe they had going. read more

Got the B set menu and 2 orders of the fried rice for 5 people. The service is great, there's a good amount of banchan, and the meat is delicious. They don't rush the grilling and are good about ensuring the complete cook time (which is extra important for gopchang)! There's plenty of seating, but the booths are ideal for max party size of 5-6 since I think most of the tables only have one grill. read more

11/10, the gopchang is amazing. The staff is great. If you do not know what gopchang is I would google it and then determine if you want to try it. I personally love it and always delicious. I am a regular there and the staff know us but man they're friendly. The owner and his brother might get mad at me for telling you but ask for the peanut sauce (it is the specialty secret sauce) and I go through it like crack. Also if you're new to gopchang ask for soybean powder and pour it in the black sauce. You're welcome. Ambiance is just like all other Korean spots in Atlanta but you go there for gopchang and a beer/soju... That's what gopchang is all about. Highly recommend. read more

I'll preface this by saying that I know that a truly authentic experience such as, apparently, this, isn't for the faint of heart. With that said, I wasn't bothered by the items on the menu - essentially nothing but offal, in intestines, stomach meat, and cow heart. It just wasn't terribly tasty, even with the modest array of sauces/oils provided by the restaurant. This is probably due to them using parts of the cow that aren't fatty, but other than the particular chewiness of the grilled meat, and the visuals, I just didn't enjoy the meal very much. The bonchon wasn't to my liking - outside of the kimchi, maybe - though I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Nothing stood out as being particularly good. On top of that, it was rather expensive (with tip, about $40 per person - with water). I'm sure there are immigrants and children of immigrants who want the real thing. I'm not one of them, though, and if you're not, you probably won't enjoy this experience. The interior was sort of dumpy, as well, with Kpop being played (but not syncing with the videos on their several televisions) pretty loudly. The service was attentive, I'll say, but that would be the lone positive I can muster. I'm an adventurous eater. I wasn't disturbed by what was on the menu. It just wasn't an experience worth repeating for me, and chances are, it isn't one to attempt the first time for you. read more

Excited to have a gopchang place on Buford highway. Got the combo A so that we got to try the different kinds. The menu had a lot of other things we would like to go back and try. The meat seemed to have a cleaner taste and not as greasy as the other places we went to. The banchan was a bit limited, but had the basics and was good. Service was good. I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Gopchang on Fire. Typically, I'm more of a Hwangso Gopchang person, but my sister is a bigger fan of Gopchang on Fire so we decided to check this place out. This location sits at the former Hello Chicken area on Buford Hwy, right next to Mozart Bakery. It's definitely the biggest location out of the three they have, and this is extremely convenient for the folks who want gopchang but live closer to downtown. The menu is the same as the two locations -- we always order the set menu, that comes with gopchang (small intestines), daechang (large intestines), makchang, yeomtong and some other things. We also ordered the fried rice, which I was SO surprised at how good it was. There were a few reaons that I preferred Hwangso over Gopchang on Fire, but my thoughts were changed after coming here. 1) The Daechang - Hwangso's daechang is not cut up, so it has more fat making it more flavorful. Gopchang on Fire, on the other hand cuts it up which I didn't prefer. But when we went this time, the daechang had some light marinade on it that made it extremely flavorful. Also, because it was cut up, it didn't feel as greasy and heavy so I could keep on chomping it down. 2) Soybean Powder - So... it's a given that you need to dip your gopchang and daechang in the soybean powder, and Hwangso gave that out. Gopchang on Fire on the other hand used to not give it out, but now they do upon request -- and I may like Gopchang on Fire's powder even better. Has more of a subtly sweet flavor that I prefer. Gopchang on Fire also wins on the flavor of the fried rice. I don't know what it is, but the fried rice there is just sooooo good. Overall - I had an AMAZING meal. Service was also great. I live near Suwanee, but I liked it so much to the point that I definitely want to come back. I hope they do well in the Doraville area and I can't wait to come back! read more

I've been to all of the Gopchang on Fire locations, but this one is by far the best! Spacious, clean, great service, plenty of parking, and delicious food. Good music, lighting, decor, TVs w K-pop MVs. We ordered individual orders of Gopchang, Makchang, and Daechang and everything was cooked perfectly. Can't beat the homemade banchan, either! Friendly, attentive servers offering refills constantly. I've tried Gopchang and Makchang and Daechang in Seoul, Seattle, LA, New York, and nothing beats the taste from here (esp. the Daechang at this particular location). I live closer to the Duluth location, but will definitely make the extra drive to come to this location! read more

I visited here with my friend a few days ago. I'm from Maryland and wanted to try 대창 (large intestine). I jokingly asked the server for a large portion for two people, and to my surprise, he actually gave us a lot! It tasted AMAZING--crispy on the outside and chewy yet soft on the inside. There are various combos to order and they are open late at night- but all combos seem to be mostly organ meats- can't order only ribs ect. So prob a good place if you like those items and a beer late at night. read more

I came here a few weeks after the grand opening. I was excited to have this local chain on Buford highway. However, my experience left much to be desired. So I'm a huge fan of gopchang. I've been to "ALL" gopchang places in Georgia. I must say, this is my favorite spot. This newly opened location felt more spacious and cozy at the same time. I took 8 of my friends that were visiting us last week and we definitely had a blast!! The service was top notch and the servers were very detailed oriented about knowing what you need and want. Each type of meat has to be cooked in different time manner, so they will tell you when to eat certain meats when it's ready. By far my favorite is dae chang. I've traveled all over the country in Korea with my wife last year and tried 6 of the highly most rated gopchang restaurants in Korea.
