I went in for nerve pain and myoclonus jerks as well as just the concern that my nerve pain and shingles were getting worse. I had PA John Luna who didn't even listen to my concerns. I told him I had shingles and I had already been to my regular doctor for it, I told him this was the first time I was being seen for it (we did mychart and phone calls with my PCP to diagnose it) but my pcp had been unable to get me in. John Luna told me he didn't have "the license" to prescribe Gabapentin and that it was a controlled substance ('very recently' he said which I thought was interesting, considering I was put on a trial prescription less than 6 weeks ago for the shingles pain and had my roommate pick it up). I did't go in looking for gaba to begin with, I was hoping for a second round of anti-virals, or tests to make sure that my nerves weren't dying. John Luna also put "pain and numbness" on my referral which the neurology department hardly wanted to even accept because they "don't treat pain" instead of mentioning anything about the shingles that are actively diagnosed and still on my body. I have an appointment in October, so I hope that my nerves aren't fried by then! I have never been treated so badly and I'll be filing a formal complaint as well.

I went in for a very straightforward issue, a possible broken bone. Sometimes chronic or more complex issues can be hard to address at these types of clinics, so my particular situation probably had a lot to do with the ease of my visit. You can call ahead to make an appointment, and I was taken back within 10 minutes of my scheduled time. The nurses were swift, professional and courteous. My doctor was very friendly and assessed me quickly and had an X-ray completed in less than an hour. The staff were genuinely concerned for my well-being and comfort , while being thorough in making sure I had all the medical aids and medication necessary to treat my injury. Given the challenges that medical workers face day in and day out, the clinic staff were really great. I really appreciated their caring attitude and solid assessment. I will definitely keep this place in mind should I need urgent attention in the future. Easy to drive to, easy parking and a clean, comfortable building made this as pleasant a visit as possible. I've been to a few other urgent care clinics around ABQ in the past and been forced to wait a really long time just to be treated dismissively and callously. Upon arrival I filled out the appropriate forms, and was promptly seen by Physician Assistant Susan Blair-Buckley. She diagnosed my eye infection as well as a sinus infection. Because I was going to be in Santa Fe that afternoon, she recommended a CVS up there. A few hours later in Santa Fe I picked up my prescriptions and was immediately on my way to recovery. And I'll be honest, Dr. Wong saw that my cholesterol was a little too high, and he suggested I lose a few pounds. But, he didn't stop there. He actually helped me figure out how to lose those pounds. He suggested a diet plan and helped me set goals. Ruffreshing!! On a practical note, Dr. Wong is fairly easy to get an appointment with, which is nice. Over all, highly recommended.
