I've been a patient at Interventional Pain Associates for just over a year, and I genuinely can't say enough good things. Before I found Dr. Raiten, I'd been dealing with severe, debilitating pain while every provider I was seeing made me feel like I was being dramatic and it wasn't that bad. That is an incredibly isolating experience, and if you've been through it you know exactly what I mean. Dr. Raiten was able to figure out what was actually going on at my first appointment. He caught something rare that everyone else had completely missed because he actually sat down and took the time to listen to me. That led me to get specialized treatment out of state that has made my life immeasurably better. The procedures have always gone smoothly, and follow ups with his PA Maria haven't been rushed. I am able to trust everyone at IPA, which isn't something I say lightly given how long it took to find people who actually took me seriously and listened. read more

My husband went to Dr Raiten for back pain that warranted surgery but because of his age was discouraged, he got wonderful relief. I then hurt my back caring for him after a stroke. Actually I have several issues in my back and started having such severe pains in my legs I could not walk, drive or live normally. Dr Raiten has given me my life back, I can walk, drive and my depression has lifted as I can now see a future instead of sitting in a chair each day being very depressed. I cannot say how awesome he is, as he called me at home and also texted me to see how I was. I can't remember the last time a Dr did that. His staff is compassionate and patient also. I would recommend IPA to anyone wanting relief, He Is The Best! read more

I truly believe there is something unstable and dangerous about the office manager and "wife of the owner", Katie. She made a point of telling me that she was the doctor's wife and this is "her office". She scolded me like a child and told me I was being rude to her staff and that I signed an agreement saying I would no longer be their patient if I was rude. She was the one who was rude! Her and "her" staff. The woman at the desk had an attitude and was flippant with me like she didn't care. I was in so much pain I needed help walking. It was horrible pain and they did not show concern and instead made me feel unsafe and worse. I was grouchy and almost in tears relaying my issues. I've never been in that much pain in my life and I didn't know what was wrong with me. It was also scary because the only thing that my family doctor would do is prescribe medications that made me vomit. So medication was out and I felt I had no choice but to go to this place and I felt trapped. I felt trapped by the office manager and I thought maybe she'd have me arrested if I didn't leave. She is scary. I felt like I was in an unsafe situation and environment. I thought maybe the "office manager" would get physical with me and do something to me. There was no way in hell I'd trust these monsters with my back for any kind of injections. Honestly, I can completely relate to elderly patients who are abused by nurses now that I've had this experience. I am older and not too far off from being elderly so this is a grave concern and I'm sure the medical board should look into these people. That being said. Do not trust these people as they may be actually harming patients and we just haven't heard about it yet. I believe the office staff are dangerous. Please stay away from there. Any response from the doctor in response to my review here would never amount to enough. I do not need excuses. We need this place shut down. Excuses don't amount to anything in the grand scheme of things. And the 4 star reviews here are paid for reviews. Trust your instincts or don't go here at all would be safest. Especially if you are in pain or an older person. We go here for pain but they'd rather we not. read more

WOW, at first I had a great impression about my first visit with Dr. Raiten and my follow up injection. Today I had a follow up video appointment to assess the results of my procedure, and I was surprised to find out that it was with his PA named Maria. She seemed credible and polite until I mentioned that for the future I would like to keep my care with Dr. Raiten just for the fact that I don't feel comfortable of having a third person involved in my care. Maria politely yet assertively told me that I did not have that option and if this did not work for me, she'd be more than happy to refer me to another group. A few minutes later I called the office to verify the information I had just received, was transferred to the office manager named Katie whose level of unprofessionalism and rudeness was surreal. She actually sounded unwell when she brought up that by "not trusting Maria's competency as a PA, I was breaking a contract I signed with the office to be COURTEOUS with the staff, and for that I was being rude". Not for a second did I challenge Maria's qualifications as a physician's assistant, instead I stressed my preference of seeing Dr Raiten primarily. I was NEVER told beforehand that there was another doctor in the office who I was going to be switched to. Katie also told me that this was HER office, since she was the doctor's wife, and that she would suggest for me to find another pain medical group. The treatment I received from this office's gatekeepers today lacks professionalism, respect and definitely class from the "doctor's wife" who sounded more like an unbalanced disgruntled employee. Not the kind of bedside manners I expect from a professional clinic. I'll definitely share my experience with others and with my primary care physician who sent me to Dr. Raiten and spoke so highly of him. read more

This doctor will tell you one thing to your face and another in writing. He is neither trusting nor trustworthy. He wanted me to pay $250 out of pocket for pain relieving shots in my shoulders, when my pain is all over and I can't afford that anyway! He is often confused. He accused me of having an "accident" in his waiting room, confusing me with another patient. He seems really nice and concerned. Don't be fooled. read more

If I could give this doctors office negative stars, I absolutely would. My boyfriend and I were referred to Interventional Pain Associates, about two months ago. The owners of this this place are the most unprofessional couple I have ever encountered in a doctors office. Dr. Raiten, the medical director, will give out his own personal cellphone number to clients and say that you can reach him at anytime for concerns but that was not the case. The doctor seemed thorough when doing my initial exam. He made promises that he could help me with my severe pain and I was hopeful. I quickly learned that his statements were complete lies. I waited over a month for my exams to be ordered and heard nothing back. I tried contacting the office and was put on hold for 15 minutes without even a hello then after 16 minutes I was hung up on. No big deal, I assumed it was a mistake. I called back and was told with an attitude to hold on. After another 8 minutes passed. I was hung up on so I waited a bit and tried again. I was completely desperate to get help with my pain as I have severe seizures. When Katie answered she was so annoyed with me I figured because I called more than once. I informed her of my attempts to reach the office and she exploded on me. She kept calling me a lair when I told her about being put on hold and said that she was answering the phone so she knew I was a liar. I told her I had the call logs to prove it, then she proceeded to yell at me and demand my name. I became afraid and refused. I begged her to let me speak to Dr. Raiten or someone possibly above her and she yelled that she was the owner and then told me she'd use my phone number to look up my information. She then hung up on me. I called in tears back hoping someone else would answer. Katie told me to never show my face there again and that she knew my information. I became so distraught and asked her how she could treat her clients like that. She simply said that she could because she's the owner. I remembered I had his personal cellphone number on a business card so I proceeded to tell her that if she wouldn't allow me to speak to the doctor that I could go in person to possibly clear this up. She threatened me and told me that if I went anywhere near the office that she would have me arrested by the police. I was baffled by that threat and suffered a severe PTSD episode that resulted in seizures. I cried and told her that I didn't believe the doctor would be okay with how she treats his patients so I told her I would just contact Dr. Raiten via his cellphone. Katie went into an extreme fit of rage then started laughing at me and said that she would just block my phone number from his cell. She yelled at me and then said she was calling the police. When I asked for what? She responded that it was because I was a "rude girl" and that she did not like me. The worst part is, because they knew my boyfriend was also a client, he also received an expedited letter in the mail saying he too was banned. And for what? He had NOTHING to do with those phone calls but I suppose Katie just wanted to cover her tracks. Dr. Raiten, what your wife is doing is wrong. I am in so much pain and no where is accepting new patients any time soon. The fact that you would sign off on banishment letters without even checking on your clients and hearing their side shows you don't care. Katie created such a hostile environment and why? Because she cant even seem to handle being a DECENT receptionist? Katie, I've read other reviews about you and how disgusting you treat people with disabilities. Now I assume you just have some type of phobia with disabled individuals. Or perhaps it was the color of my skin or last name. After speaking with my health coordinator I am seeking legal advice on this matter. I strongly advise other victims to do the same. DO NOT STAND FOR NEGLECT FROM YOUR DOCTORS OFFICES! We all deserve a safe environment to get our medical needs met. I am so sorry to all of the others on here that have been bullied, threatened, or harrassed by Katie. No one deserves to go through this. I'm a bit amused seeing all these negative comments about Katie. Dr. Raiten, you really need to do something about her. I would recommend that she go back school and learn basic manners. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is great and Dr. Raiten really does everything he can for his patients

I have suffered with lower back pain for years. Once my PCP had referred me, I was able to get an appointment at IPA. I found the entire staff ... from the receptionist to triage to all the assistants, and to Dr R ... to be kind, professional and accommodating. After some trial and error, I finally received two injections in my lower back. After having received a previous shot, which did not help my pain, I was quite nervous about these injections. I am a large lady. I had to lie on a table, on my stomach, for the procedure. I had a lot of trouble turning over onto my stomach, but the assistant constantly assured me that I was safe, "I've got you". He helped me get ready for the dr. Dr R is kind and very gentle throughout the procedure ... even chatting and joking to put me at ease. Following the procedure, I went back in to triage to have my blood pressure taken again. I was pretty woozy so the assistant walked me over. After one day, my back is still stiff but not as achy. I feel confident that this will help my back pain, and I thank Dr R and his team for their dedication to helping relieve pain. read more

Front desk staff was HORRIBLY rude. Didn't even get a chance to see a doctor because I was told noone would see me in person. I understand Covid rules, but this secretary was above and beyond RUDE. Constantly cut me off and would not let me finish a sentence! I left a message for a doctor or nurse to call me but Noone ever did! I bet she threw my message in the garbage. read more

I called to ask about a charge that was sent to me when I have insurance. The girl who answered didn't sound like she wanted to be there at work and told me I would have to call the billing department while I was in mid sentence asking a questions she cut me off and asked if I was ready for the number. I told seeing how I was wasting her time sure after giving me the number I said thank you for being rude to me. I'm always in pain and I wasn't feeling good. A few minutes later another girl called me back and said basically that my perception of the call was wrong and I was being hostile. I was blown away I told her if you do not want my business cancel my upcoming appointment and she said it was already done. I pay my bills all the time upfront this office never has to wait for payment. I will go to someone who cares about truly treating my issues. I am going to go out of my way to tell everyone person I know how poorly I was treated and I will never step foot back in that office again. The Dr I see is very good at what he does but he has a very poor staff who is losing him business. I have seen the staff in other occasions be very rude to people and I didn't know the circumstances so I never judged until they were rude to me. Do not go here find a office who cares. read more
