SAVE YOUR TIME AND HEALTH! Don't bother going here. I made an early appointment. When I got in to check in there was only 3 people ahead of me. They said the system was down and couldn't get me checked in. However, they were able to get other appointments checked in and seen ahead of me. When I brought up the long wait I was told I had to go somewhere else they were not able to check me in. Directly after I watched them check in 4 other people after I arrived. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 and they sent me away at 10:45. Was not see at all. They did nothing for me but waste my time while exposing me to others sickness. Came to Duke City Urgent Care. They were professional, courteous, and able to get me see within 30 minutes of arriving without an appointment. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE! I have never in my life been treated like this. For some background: I went in for an ear ache, I'm around 6 1/2 months pregnant, and I work with children. The nurse practitioner asked if I had been around anyone who could have been sick. I explained to her that I work with children (infants i might add) so I'm sure they are sick, but they can't tell me. She checked my ears, they were clear, fine whatever. She then sat me down to tell me "I don't mean to tell you what you should do or to leave your profession (implying I should quit my job), but you do have a BABY TO THINK ABOUT". Who says that to anyone, let alone a pregnant mother? I'm fully aware I have a baby to think about, that's why I am a full time worker. She made sure to add "I guess someone has to do that job" in a snarky tone. To add fuel to fire, as if it wasn't already bad. She claimed "I really would have avoided giving you antibiotics anyways because if you are always getting sick, you will have to keep taking antibiotics (not true), and you will screw up your gut biome and will find it hard to lose those extra 5-10 pounds in a couple years". Hello? Did I come here for weight management? Which also this information is not entirely true either, according to UCLA health. org your gut biome after taking antibiotics will completely recover in a few months. I am also not a heavy set person, even being pregnant I am about 150 lbs, so in no way shape or form should she have given me any advice about my weight. I don't know yet how to contact her higher ups, but this lady should not be a practicing nurse practitioner if she is giving unsolicited (false) advice. I don't know if she saw me as a vulnerable pregnant woman and decided to take out her bad day on me, but I will never return back to this facility knowing she works there. Literally the rudest provider I have ever encountered. When I asked a very simple question about treatment I was told "if you don't like it, you can go somewhere else." This was because I asked why she wasn't following CDC antibiotic recommendations for treating animal bites. Alice Sisneros, FNP: hands down rudest, most aggressive, condescending, patronizing provider ever. Also, there are guidelines for a reason and the reason is out-of-date, under-educated providers like her- do better and get some CME. Staff seems in a hurry and are pretty incompetent. I came in for a simple TB test. This urgent care made several mistakes and filled my form out incorrectly. When I came back to get my tb test checked, they checked both boxes for positive and negative, causing my form to be rejected. If they were a bit more patient and slowed down, they could avoid a lot of these simple mistakes. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my son to have his foot checked for a potential fracture. The website said they perform "X-Rays" and when we arrived for his scheduled appointment the front desk receptionist said there wasn't an X-Ray Tech available. What's frustrating is that no one thought to be proactive and call us to give us the heads up that an X-Ray wasn't possible! DO BETTER and look at your appointments for the day and if a tech isn't available, call the patient to inform them. Don't wait till they arrive to then deliver the news! read more

Took my husband...waited most of the day, because we made an "appointment" and it wasn't until later in the day. Once we got there, we waited over an hour and finally just walked out without seeing a provider. We ended up walking into a different urgent care, which was much quicker and more efficient. (Should've done that 6 hours earlier). Anyway... I just got a bill in the mail for....not 1 but 2 rapid flu tests. Again, we never saw a provider. The MA did swab his nose to check for flu but then she never came back. And she certainly didn't swab his nose twice. They never gave us results, and we eneded up having to go somewhere else and paid for that one did see him and provide results. read more

My daughter needed a physical for school. We got one from her pediatrician but the school said it had to be on one of their forms. So figured we go to here. Up my street. Made an appointment online because I every time I called no one picked up. I picked a 5:20 pm time. Get word that only one person was at the office so we went at 5:10. We waited for over an hour. The desk woman and the Nurse kept coming in and out laughing. Finally got back and the poor doctor looked so overworked and tired. Didn't even ask much of anything except check the basic. No questions asked about anything!!. Was in front of the doctor for literally 4 minutes. This is the second time I have gone and it's been a lot. Absolutely terrible service. You will not receive care here. Was first in line at 8a. They Helped the girl behind me first. Told to come back at 830a. Was checked in at that time. I took my 6 year old there due to a fall at school which gave him a nasty laceration in his hair. The school nurse told us he would need stitches due and had put a bandage on it to try to keep bleeding under control. The triage nurse at Nextcare seemed annoyed with my son right away and was just very short with him. My 6 year old was very scared and in pain and was very upset when the triage nurse started pulling the bandage out of his hair with no true explanation of what she was doing to help calm him down. My son was screaming and crying out of pain and being frightened of the unknown which the nurse only seemed to get more annoyed at. Once the nurse left I was able to calm my son down and explain what had happened and what was probably going to happen (which to be honest I had no clue if what I was saying was right since no info had been given to me) and he was fine with it. Later another person entered the room, who I assume was the Dr. though they never introduced themselves. This person looked at my sons head for less than 30 seconds and then said it will heal itself up with no stitches or staples. I right away felt like my son was being written off because they didn't want to deal with him crying but I unfortunately kept my mouth shut. We sent the attached picture to an out of town family member who is a PA who immediately said that it should have staples or stitches. He also said that if we leave it to heal on its own it will take at least 2 months to heal and will heal very jagged and and probably leave an indent in his head. So We took him to a different urgent care and he received 5 staples with zero issues. Shame on you NextCare for putting your convenience over what is best for the patient. read more

The only positive thing about this place is that it's open until 8pm instead of the typical 5pm, so I was able to go after work. I made an appointment online and showed up 15 minutes early, but there was no one at the front desk, and no way to get some attention. I waited 30 minutes just to check in! I know long wait times in urgent care are normal, but having to wait to check in is ridiculous. When someone finally came out she was pretty rude and impatient, as if I was an inconvenience to her. Next, the woman I saw (don't remember her name) was full of it. She claimed I had a specific bacterial infection, but when I researched it later it had the exact opposite properties and symptoms of what she said. The prescription she gave me to relieve my symptoms made my pain much worse. I feel like she was not trustworthy. My advice is, if you can wait 'till morning for a different clinic, do so. read more

This location is ridiculous. I went to get a sports physical, and had an appointment scheduled for the afternoon. The morning of the appointment they called me and told I had to come in earlier because the provider was leaving early. I got there 20 minutes before my appointment and before the provider was planning on leaving, handed them my paperwork(literally the backside of 1 page is all they needed to fill out) and got checked in. The front desk worker took my paper to the back, and came back 2 minutes later and told me they couldn't do the physical because the provider was only a PA and not a DO or DR. Total waste of my time because I have has Nurse Practitioners complete these physicals. The only reason they didn't do it is because they wanted to leave early and there were already 2 other people ahead of me in line. If I could have left zero stars I would! This place is a JOKE! I went there Friday 9/9/2022, with a bad sore throat and some congestion. Got tested for strep, the flu and Covid. The intake "nurse" that took the swabs then placed them between her fingers and continued to type in information, coughed and snorted in her mask, walked me to my room all while my swabs were still between her fingers exposed to the elements and not properly handled. What medical professional does that. No surprise my Covid test came back inconclusive, the others were negative but who knows what the true results are since she didn't immediately secure the tests. DONT GO TO THE MENAUL LOCATION. I've been here several times and it's always been pleasant. This last time though, the provider was so strange. He was very short with me and asked questions in an aggressive way. Weather he had a difficult patient before me or not, it doesn't excuse how horrible he came off. After I'd respond there would be awkward pauses and he'd just glare. He raised his voice and told me I was incorrect for wanting to receive the treatment I came for. He kept questioning me in an aggressive way and repeating things multiple times. I got so frustrated with him for acting so strange I eventually just had to leave. He was an "ex military" guy (not sure why he felt the need to assert that) who was on the slightly heavier side. Overall I've always had a pleasant time coming to this location but this guy was so strange and horrible to be around. I wish I could give zero stars for bed side manner. All I wanted was my blood drawn for an anti-body test. I met all the requirements and it wouldn't have killed him to at least pretend he cares about patients or his job. read more

When I revealed that I needed blood work done, they just kept saying how they understood. I asked for a manager and was told she's too busy managing 3 clinics to assist me, but I could talk to the rude lead who told me she has diabetes and understands. Saying it doesn't make it true. The MA assisting me looked unhealthy, like she was recovering from Meth and felt impatient with my weight wouldn't register on the scale because I was too fat. I hope this clinic goes out of business. I have been prediabetic for 5 years and I'm afraid that I crossed the line. I understand that every business is understaffed at the moment. I am also aware that I will most often have a wait at an urgent care. However, I had a scheduled appt today and after 35 minutes of waiting I asked the receptionist if she could give me an idea of how much longer the wait would be as I had other things scheduled in my day and needed to know if I should cancel. She walked to the back and was gone for 10 minutes and then came back and ignored me without answering my question. So we waited patiently for another 30 minutes, and hr past our scheduled appt time, and then asked her again if she would be willing to give us an estimate so I could know if I needed to reschedule other things in my day. She was clearly frustrated with me asking her and gruffly replied that we would be waiting an additional 30 minutes. I told her we couldn't wait that long and told her that they should consider letting people know upfront how long they would be waiting. I was not unkind, but she turned her back and ignored me without an apology for the wait or any offer of help.
