Alot of open space inside of a really nice neighborhood. I bring my kids here to play at the playground or just to have a little extra space to toss the football with my son and his friends. Its also a really good place to walk your dog, especially if your trying to get him comfortable around people and other animals.

Clean equipment and a great atmosphere. The grounds were being cut and kept while we were out there.

When I first…read morelived here, 2000-2003, Burba was really nice, well maintained, the water quality was good and there were enough little bluegill/sunfish to make a kid tired of catching them. This is no longer a "good" fishing spot, and not the overall family recreation area that it could be. This not just an old guy "get off my lawn" observation [okay its a little bit of that]. For many complex reasons the resource is no longer in good shape. There are far too many year round Canada Geese (nutirent load/water quality aspects), the shoreline is not regualrly groomed/maintained. The asphalt path that rings the lake is also in rough shape. It looks nice from a distance, and the playgrounds are still usable. But Burba Lake is a shadow of its former self right now. I understand the realities of the resources to restore it - but I do wish there was a way to do so. If there were a magic wand: -greatly reduce geese -restore water flow into lake (feeder streams in terrible shape) -maintain bank vegetation -restore native water plants -manage algae blooms -drop in structure for fish habitat -stock a variety of native fish species (I've only seen sunfish/turtles)

On any given day, you can spot a wide variety of bird species, which adds to the tranquility of the surroundings. The trails through the woods are well-maintained and offer a wonderful escape into nature. I especially enjoy the paths that lead to the fresh water ponds, where you can admire the beauty of the area while getting some exercise. If you're looking for a relaxing and scenic place to jog or simply unwind, Piney Orchard Nature Trail is the perfect spot!

I've been here to walk 4-5 times, in different seasons, and each has its charm. In the spring, you will see myriad flowers in bloom, hear the lovely song of little streams and birds trilling. Winter is very different, with frosty pine cones and leaves to photograph, and everything so still. Fall is lovely! I saw two does with their mostly grown fawns, and encountered a baby rattlesnake! That surprised me greatly as I've never seen or heard of them around here. I confess that fall is my favorite season; I love the bluest skies and the aroma of leaves. I prefer not walking on asphalt too much, so as soon as I can (where the duck loop cuts off and so does the vernal trail) I cut down to the sand/dirt path along the water. Both trails, asphalt and dirt, eventually end up at a sort of trail end. The other day when I was here, since there was no water in the stream, I crossed over to see if I could go any farther - ermmm not really. There are numerous access points from the neighborhood that borders the preserve, so lots of folks seem to walk their dogs close to home. The water was extremely low since we've had very little rain; I was surprised at how far the mud banks extended into the lake. There are NO services whatsoever! Go potty before you get out to walk!

Of course we have only been there during the week so its not crowded like most places. The sitting area is big and you can definitely watch your kid from the sitting area. They have a little soccer field area which my son loves, the slides are fun, and if you put tokens in your players card they can ride in little cars, play the claw machine games plus others, and taking pictures in the photo booth. I loved that there was a separate area for young kids. It was excellent for my 9 month old and it's labeled to be for kids in diapers. The big kids area was great too. I felt like I could support my toddler safely in it. There were multiple slides, carts to ride down a dolly slide, a soccer field, and all sorts of things. I didn't love the angle on the big pink slide. It seemed dangerous and I saw a young girl hurt herself on it. My son loved taking breaks in the black light space dance room. There are tables and picnic tables and the bathrooms were pretty clean. There were extra things you had to pay even more for like foosball, air hockey, claw machines, motorcycles to ride, and maybe other arcade games. It was $22 which I felt was a little pricey. I think the catch is that you can leave and come back, but I'm never going to spend my whole day at one of these places.

Not to make light of the other reviews, or try to discredit them, but it's kind of why I put off writing this review. Just in case things went left, I hadn't already jumped out there with my review. Hopefully those reviews are the reason I can write this one today. We moved to this area 2 years ago, and were a little sad to hear that memberships at this pool were limited. We put ourselves on the list, and i'm not even sure how far we are down, but we are still waiting to become members. This summer my kids were sitting around bored. I mean we go here and there, but the bulk of our time is spent around the house. So we were excited when we got an email saying they were offering memberships for the summer. We quickly purchased the membership, and now when theres nothing to do for the day my kids have somewhere they can go have a good time. The staff has been friendly, and we have not had any negative interactions with anyone. It's great that our kids get to meet more kids from the community, and make friends. My wife and I have also gotten to know some of our neighbors, which may have never happened otherwise.
