The price of gas keeps on rising Nothing comes for free Make like a stone, make like a plant I can tell you, how this ends". I didn't feel good about paying $6.60 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline on 4/23/19, but after reading other reviews before me I don't feel nearly as bad. I can tell you how my Gorda experience ended too. It hurt. It was a big fat negative for the ol' bank account ($112 for almost 17 gallons), but it was better to be safe than sorry with a truck pulling a trailer on the glorious Highway 1. This station is great, and Roberto, the gas station attendant is friendly and helpful. For three years Highway One from Los Angeles to Big Sur has been closed due to the slide and continued earth movement. Local businesses are suffering. Yes, the price is higher than Monterey or Carmel, so do not forget to gas-up there if you do not want to help support Big Sur.

It was a hot day, so we grabbed some cold drinks and light snacks, which were perfect. The space itself is really beautiful and full of character, it feels like more than just a typical convenience store. They also had a great collection of marmalade jams, which we were told are locally made, such a cute and unique touch. Overall, a very convenient stop with personality and thoughtful items. We have been "commuting" up and down the coast quite a bit recently and are garnering together our favorite stops, so price-wise and easy-to-get-in-and-out-wise, this is it for gas. There are snack supplies inside, and lush green fields outside, while the traffic on 101 whizzes by nearby. On our most recent stop, the Google Earth car with its odd little rabbit ear was there, filling up at a pump. It felt like spotting a celebrity!
