I was told by many local businesses this was the place to go if I wanted postcards of the area. They were not wrong. I completely scored a half a dozen, they had the best selection. What an absolute delight. I agree w/others reviews. Super clean; wonderful and helpful staff; many fun things to choose from in the merchandise dept., great selection and the grocery aspect of this station is not like any other station I have ever been to. I would drive from Cayucos again just to snoop around Cambria and pop into this station on my road trip back. read more

What at first glance may look like just another gas station is actually one of the most comprehensive and clean souvenir stores I've even set foot in. Whoever owns the Old Cambria Marketplace obviously takes pride in being a one-stop shop - especially when your customers are mostly tourists with money to burn. We walked in on a whim while seeking out a bathroom. While my wife was indisposed, I wandered around. This place has everything! From your standard gas station shop fare like drinks and food to medicine, bathroom supplies and beach gear. More impressive though were all the souvenirs. They had t-shirts, signs, mugs, cards and even military toys. It was the last place I thought I'd leave with a toy Blackhawk helicopter for my son and a t-shirt, but they hooked me. In a town with not a lot of stores available, it's nice for have this shop around. read more

We always stop here on our way to/from the Elephant Seals. They have the cleanest restroom and plenty of snack/drink options. We stopped here specifically to get some T-shirts, but our size wasn't in stuck. Tammy was kind enough to let us know we could call and order the shirts we need, though we have to send in a check. Good to know though, because they're nice shirts. Excellent customer service each visit. read more

If you're staying in Cambria and planning to drive up to Bixby Bridge and Big Sur, make sure to fill up your tank beforehand and this is a good place to do it. Prices along the PCH at Ragged Point and Big Sur at at least USD 1/gallon more expensive there. They have a souvenir section and they have a really nice selection of stickers which we loved! They have some sandwiches and baked items available as well as a variety of snack options. They have a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages too. read more

CAUTION DURING COVID This business does not enforce mask laws that are currently in place in California. The cashier herself had her mask completely below her nose and took no note of the five customers in the extremely crowded store who were not wearing face coverings. A sign out front boasts "cleanest restrooms!" but as I waited in the 15 person line for the single stall women's restroom, I did not find that to be the case. There was no one on staff present to clean or that I could see in the store besides the one cashier and I had to go into a dirty bathroom after a woman who wasn't wearing a mask used it. Again, it was extremely busy and dull and there was no possibility for social distancing. If you're not comfortable with this kind of a situation, go into one or the other two gas stations close by. read more

WHY HAS NO ONE ELSE WRITTEN A REVIEW ABOUT THIS PLACE EXCEPT ONE PERSON? This was the most entertaining gas and convenience store EVER. So, half of the store has gifts. Very random assortment. From far away the stuff looked pretty cool-all ocean themed stuff, but up close it was really cheap and funny looking. I mean seriously, highly entertaining on a Sunday night when nothing else in town is open. Good assortment of snacks and drinks. We stocked up on stuff for the car for our drive back to Walnut Creek. Nice guy at the counter-we didn't have any questions, but I saw him field some inquiries from many a weary traveler coming off US 1. He actually told one couple, that appeared to be from Australia, that they could pull their car off to some lot to get some rest, when they asked him where they could park overnight. I just really dug this place...gas prices were pretty high, but I mean pretty much you have to get it there or drive to Cuyocas or Paso Robles for any other gas stations. read more

The Newer convenience store in Cambria. it has ever anything that you would think a typical convenience store would have and I would certainly make sure I was filled with gas before I left town because it's going to be cheaper at one of the convenience stores in Cambria then on the road to Big Sur or before you get to San Luis Obispo. It is an easy on easy off kind of place but there's nothing really quirky or unusual about it it does have the local post guards if you want to get such things in a few coffee cups and other souvenirs besides the normal food items at a convenience store. It is located near a wine shop so it also would make shopping there okay. read more

Old Cambia Wine and Gifts was a life saver!!!! We had been driving about 200 miles or so in a FOGGY MESS and finally a gas station with lighting!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! We were pretty much the only car there (except one car which left right after) so that part was a bit creepy but we were so relieved it didn't even matter. Restroom!!!! After you drink iced coffees, waters, and Monsters all day all you want is a restroom. This place was pretty big though. Lots of gifts, shot glasses, those highway orange cones with sayings on them (mine says "GIVE ME COFFEE AND NOBODY GETS HURT"), and of course we picked up more Monsters as well. They had a good amount of stuff so definitely stop by here if you're driving along the coast. Oh they have sun hats too! :D read more

I always stop by this Shell gas station/marketplace when in town. They carry your typical snacks/hot foods and also have a big selection of souvenirs and local art trinkets. Gas is really expensive here (.50 more), so if you can, fill up elsewhere....like outside of Cambria. I was impressed by the small, but reasonably-priced wine selection here. We found a bottle of Justin wine for $50, when it was being sold at the winery for $75...big difference! I would suggest checking out their selection prior to buying at a winery if you wanna save some money. Clerks are always efficient and friendly here. read more

This place was the only place opened at 11pm when we arrived at our hotel. I was starving and after seeing they have hot dogs we rushed there! Sadly when we arrived the hot dogs were gone, there wasn't any food or packaged sandwich. So I ended up buying cookies for dinner.... The workers here are very friendly and he explained to me that there aren't any chain restaurant in Cambria. This is really a food mart at the shell gas station. I think this is the only gas station in town so they can raise the price and will still have customer. I paid $4.79 for regular, man that was a stabbed to my wallet. This place sells everything, food, drinks, and souvenirs. Clean and neat shop with friendly staffs. You cant ask for more from a small town. I love friendliness of the people who aren't from the big city. read more

I saw a guy pound 2 hot dogs in less than a minute in the parking lot (does that sound nasty?) Maybe he was in training, or maybe he was thrilled that they were 2 for $1.49. Either way, his enthusiasm made me chuckle. This is a great stop for snacks, drinks and souvenirs (a surprisingly unique selection) ... But I'd suggest fueling up in Paso Robles or Morro Bay. I am not a local Cambria resident. However whenever I'm in the area I make it a point to stop here. Whether it's for gas, the occasional diet pepsi, or to check out the tourist trap section of the store that is the sweatshirt/t-shirt aisle. The layout inside does not have a good flow to it at all. Which makes it very problematic for their disabled customers to get around. While the cash machines are the central hub of the store, the tight placement of the aisles make it virtually impossible for more than 1 person in a wheelchair to comfortably view products. If you're visiting the area and not a local, be prepared to let the prices inside the store suck you dry of money. You're lucky if you can find a price for the product you're purchasing. $2 for the bottled soda by the way. I figure that might help someone. The layout outside the store is almost as bad as inside the store. I give props to the architect for designing a visually pleasing storefront, but the layout situation is ridiculous. Good luck pulling into the gas station side because the aisles are again, very tight, and there's so many people coming and going that getting out of a parking spot can be a nightmare. Like, more of a nightmare than other places because this marketplace is situation right in the tourist trap part of Cambria. All in all, it was an okay visit. The cashiers were quick. Friendliness isn't their forte, but they get you in and out and on your way in good time. So it's a good trade-off. I would like to note that they do make their own sandwiches and you can find that on the back wall to the far, far left. I didn't get a chance to rummage through the tiny bundles of sandwiches, but maybe you'll be luckier than I! read more

Nicely maintained gas station but if you want to fuel up in this town be sure to bring plenty of lube because you will get reamed. $1/gallon more here vs SB or LA. Every station in this town charges exactly the same. Owners are collaborating. They might think they're crafty but at a respectable price people would be more likely to fill it up and buy something from inside. I was empty so just put in for a 1/4 tank. Sure it's more work for me to drive to the next town and fuel up again but I had to be a good American and vote with my pocketbook. read more

If you came to see Hearst Castle, you'll be coming to Cambria quite often. This is a cute, one stop shop. You can get gas - brand Shell. It's a dollar more per gallon than Los Angeles, but I didn't see any other gas stations in the area. You can get a car wash, shop for souvenirs and gifts, and get any last minute toiletries or drinks. read more

I go here over any other place to get gas, soda, fast fried foods and souvenirs to send out to friends. This place is a clean and friendly atmosphere and I know a few of the employees personally. When I first moved to this area a few years ago here is were I met one of my really good friends! The gas may be a little over-priced but blame the economy and the fact that we live in a small tourist community. I still wouldn't go anywhere else in town for my gas! read more

Attention, Visitors to Cambria! This sweet little shop will have whatever you forgot to pack. Well, maybe not your birth control pills. But everything else. Toothbrush, shampoo, you name it. You'll also find all the wine, beer, sodee-pop, junk food and candy you can handle. There are pre-packaged cold sandwiches that may wind up being your dinner if you arrive in town after the restaurants close at 9pm. Avoid the ones with the fancy colorful labels. Go for the plain old sandwiches. They're cheaper and tastier. During the day, there's hot food: yummy hot dogs, nachos, chicken strips, spring rolls and such. A nightmare for your arteries, but delicious. Bring an empty suitcase on your trip to Cambria to fill up with gorgeously tacky souvenirs, T-shirts, sweatshirts and hats. The best is yet to come on checkout: Look around the counter for a bizarre useless item that you simply must have. You'll find at least one. The employees are awesome, friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a place to find tchotchkes and souvenirs, this is a great place for that. It's attached to the shell station and I will say it is close quarters. Probably not easy to navigate when it gets busy. But they offer Cambria T-shirts, sweaters & hats. Along with these beautiful painted stained glass hanging art. There is so much to look at. Great Gas Station/Souvenir Gift Shop. The shop not only has snacks/drinks but has a HUGE selection of Souvenirs for GREAT prices. They have clothing (sweat shirts/ shirts/ jackets/ sandals). They have really cute Moonstone Beach Hoodies and Zip Ups, along with Cambria ones for 19$! The other gift shops in the area have the EXACT SAME ones for 25-40$!!! It is definitely a got you by the short hairs as far as gas goes (WAY TOO EXPENSIVE) But, for a knick knack filled wonder, this is it. If you want a touristy souvenir of Cambria, be it a Tshirt, sweatshirt, shot glass, post cards, key chain, charms, etc etc., This is THE PLACE in Cambria. I go here for all my junk shopping. Oh, and the regular convenient store amenities, two for a dollar hotdogs, with your choice of chilly cheese, onions, etc, nachos, burritos, fried armadillo eggs, corn dogs, coffee and fountain drinks, etc etc. They do have a decent public bathroom as well. And some pretty nifty employees!!! AND the only car wash in town!!! (Other than car detailers, but that is another story!) read more

Well, thank goodness for this little gas station market. We were staying in Cambria for a night, and around 11 pm., starting craving snacks. There were literally NO other places to grab a bite (restaurant or store) at that hour! Trust Yelp led us here, and it was busy--I guess everyone was at the only place opened in town. :) We grabbed chips, beef jerky, corn nuts, and a couple of drinks and happily went on our way. read more

The prices reflect the operating costs. I go elsewhere for most of the stuff but they are the only ones to carry the certain meal replacement bars I consume. Its the pig hangout in town too. Its no surprise to see 4 patrol units out there on any given afternoon and a circle jerk of SLO county sheriffs standing by them. Proceed with caution when driving there late at night kinda buzzed trying to score more hooch.
