My friend grew up in Glen Ellyn and absolutely loves this place. I was staying with her during our part of our Chicago trip and we ended up eating here one night for dinner. Los, as she calls it, serves up some delicious more authentic Mexican. It is a fast casual eatery that seems to be a favorite amongst locals. The menu consists of a lot of your tex-mex staples like tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and more! You can dine in or carry out, although you get complimentary chips and salsa if you dine in. Service is good and the food comes out quickly. If you order separately, you have to order and pay at the front, otherwise your server will take your order. The inside is very casual and not the cleanest, but not to the point where it's unappealing. The chips were decent and were warm when they arrived. They looked more like Tostitos, but they appeared fresh so I assumed they were made in house. The salsa is great, a little sweet, a little spicy--perfect! I ended up ordering three steak tacos and a pork tamale. The tacos do not come with complimentary rice and beans. I personally appreciated this as I wasn't in the food for either on this particular occasion. Food came out about 8-10 minutes later. Served made to order, everything looked phenomenal! The steak tacos had two tortillas each, filled with ample amounts of tender steak, some shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and topped with tomato slices. I loved the corn tortillas as they seemed homemade. Homemade tortillas are a game changer and automatically amplify any Mexican dish. The steak was flavorful, a little chewy, but still good. The tacos were packed with steak and they were very filling. My friend got the chicken tacos and they came with onion and cilantro. These appeared more "authentic" than mine, but I still liked mine. Now the pork tamale was easily the best I've had. The corn masa had the perfect texture and the pork was very flavorful. I would recommend this as a side for sure! Overall, I enjoyed Los and can see why my friends Cole here for a causal dinner together. It seems like the perfect spot to grab a chill dinner with friends. Food seems authentic, service is decent, and the vibes are super chill. I will say, this place gives "hole in the wall" kind of vibes, but trust me the food is great! I really loved the homemade tortillas and the pork tamale, both hit the spot. Portions are large and the food isn't expensive at all. Would definitely try it if you haven't already. read more

I normally love eating at this location but today has changed my mind permanently. As I walked in to grab a late lunch, I was greeted by the strong smell of floor cleaner. Normally that would not bother me, but while trying to enjoy food, the overpowering smell of floor cleaner takes away from the experience. All of my food and even my soda tasted of soap. I know the food was not cooked in soap but having the floors scrubbed over and over again while trying to enjoy a meal took away from the joy of eating. I understand having to keep a clean environment but please be mindful of the strength of cleaners while people are eating. read more

Been going here for half my life. Moved away ten years ago. Finally came back to visit for the first time and made sure to stop here. I hadn't used my cc in about a year or so. I used it here and the next day my card was charged for almost $500 from Nike.com. Lots of attempted cash app charges. Many attempted container store charges. It looks like they may have a thief or two working there? It seems other people apparently here in the comments have had the same problem? I was on vacation and I had to cancel my credit card. I went to chipotle with a hungry stomach, The food filled me up good enough with the 2 Tacos I got. Their is just two things I would like to be changed. 1. Make sure that the meats are warm when you get a taco. 2. Make it so that there is a whole other section for onions instead of putting it with the tomatoes. The service on the other hand was decent. Los Burritos Tapatios is a little local spot that makes some delicious authentic Mexican food at cheap prices. Sure, I love Taco Bell, but when you really want the good stuff you have to stop by a place like this. It certainly isn't much to look at, but they let the service and the food speak for itself - and both do! My go-to is a burrito and it does not disappoint. First off all, it is hefty and every bite seems to be just a little bit better than the last. Topped off with their hot (green) sauce/salsa and my belly is in heaven. Second off, the service is always friendly and quick to take an order. I wouldn't call them fast in preparation of the food but they are not slow by any means - plus, they're usually pretty busy! While I've only done carry-out I have noticed that they have dine-in as well (with table service complete with free chips/salsa). I'd suggest, either way, that you come early to try to beat the "rush" because their parking lot leaves a bit to be desired. I'm starting to become a regular here and include it in my (now normal) lunch rotation. You should certainly do the same. read more

Brought here by a Wheaton college student who told us this is their staple college student burritos. Tried a steak burrito (minus the beans and plus extra guac, just a personal preference for the beans but would totally recommend getting the extra guac). My husband got some tacos with cilantro and onions. The steak burrito was excellent. Totally hit the spot. The steak was tasty and well cooked and there was a lot of steak in every bite. The tacos were actually a huge surprise. I had a bite of my husbands tacos and the al pastor was crispy and tasty unlike any taco I've had before. The meat itself grilled to excellence would make me come back and try the tacos next time I come. The al pastor was better than the chorizo, but I'd try other meats (def wana try the tripe!) next time. A huge plus. This is an order-at-the-counter type of fast food restaurant (Oh, and the food came out suuuper fast. We picked a seat, my husband stepped away to wash his hands really quick, and when he came back, the food was here). I've given this place a few chances because I have friends who love it. Unfortunately I've never had a good experience -- but this time was the worst. 1) it took forever - the service was very slow. 2) the ground beef (pictured) was so over cooked that it was actually crunchy and inedible. I have been coming to this place for years and the food has always been excellent. Over the last six months something has definitely changed. The last three times I've been in there, It's been horrible service, mistakes and the food is not the same quality. my chicken enchilada was like jerky. I went last night for the first time after hearing all my Wheaton College friends RAVE about the place. Turns out it's a college cult favorite. If you find yourself there after 11pm, chances are it'll be packed with Wheaton students! It opens late and serves amazing, authentic, and reasonably priced food. A great friend of mine, who is a huge foodie and half Mexican, was shocked I've never been and dragged me there. I ordered 2 chorizo and one steak taco. They have an option where you can get lettuce and cheese in your tacos instead of onions and cilantro, but of course I turned that down and went OG with extra onion and cilantro. Let me tell you... standing alone, these tacos are just as good as your Mi Casa and Burrito Parillada tacos nearby. But what makes them stand out to me, above ANY in the Wheaton area (yes, even those boujee A Toda Madres tacos which make me drool just thinking about them), is this killer salsa verde unique only to Los. This salsa verde is mixed in with fresh avocados and it has quite the kick in it, but once added to your tacos it elevates the depth of flavor to another level. I tried the tacos without the special sauce and they were good, don't take me wrong, very good. BUT, this creamy, spicy, avocado salsa verde is life-changing. I debated on stealing a bottle, that's how good it was. Los has a new, unapologetic fan. Some other favorites from my frequent flyer friends are the steak nachos and any of the burritos. read more

Oh Los. So many memories. So many burritos. I have been coming here since I was in high school and I can honestly say that this particular Los is one of the best. The friendly staff always makes sure you're taken care of and I love how clean they keep their restaurant. As for the food, I recommend getting the huevos con chorizo for breakfast and of course the classic burrito for those late night cravings!! You get chips/salsa with your meal and I'm not sure if it's a house made salsa but whatever it is ROCKS and I could eat it with a spoon! You haven't lived until you've had Los.
