Unfortunately my experience with Gordon Enterprises Contracting was not good. My house had water damage from a busted pipe in February. It's now May and we're still trying to get things fixed. We were in need of a belly board/black board, insulation, and subfloor. It took a while to find someone. We called Gordon Enterprises to schedule. I took a day off work as it takes 6 to 8 hours to install everything. The owner came out (he told me he was the owner when I called him after). He was here maybe ten minutes before he denied service. Apparently he didn't like that I asked pointed questions about the process. I was about to pay almost $3000 for a service and I wanted to know what was going to happen. He didn't like my language (New Jersey English) or body language (I only have this body; it moves.) He told me we never paid the 30% down. To that I told him that we were told on the phone, "Don't worry about it." He said the job would be a couple of days and that this day he would only be here a few hours to measure so he can buy materials. I took the day off work to get this fixed. He also got upset that I wouldn't allow him, a stranger, to stay in my home to work when no one was present. As a business owner, it is definitely his right to deny service. However, as I told him, it would have been nice if when we called to schedule we were told it would be a multiple day job. read more

Best contractor experience EVER. I had been planning some major upgrades -- kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lights, ceiling fans -- for several months. When it became time to get serious, I hired Alex Gordon of Gordon Enterprises Contracting. Alex transformed the house from "woof!" to wow!" He stayed within budget and amazingly on-time despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He and his team genuinely care about workmanship and quality of materials. The company is responsive to questions and special requests, plus Alex brings excellent suggestions with him. My one mistake is that I had another company do the interior painting. This threw a wrench into Alex's timeline, and I won't make that same mistake twice. Gordon Enterprise can do it all, and I should have let them. We had a 2:00 appointment for Gordon to come out and give me an estimate. At 2:17 I called him and he forgot to put me on his schedule. This is not a favorable indication for good business practice and I certainly will not be using him. read more

Alex completed two projects for me and I couldn't be more pleased. The first project was to install a bathroom door, remove old bio-fold doors and replace them with paneled sliding doors. The second project was to remove old carpet from the staircase and replace it with new carpeting. With both projects, Alex and or his associate were there on time. Finding a contractor that is on time is very difficult so I greatly appreciate that Alex makes sure to be here when he says he will. The jobs were done quickly and very well. Alex and his team are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend Gordon Enterprises for your home projects. I have more work to be done and Alex will be the only person I call. read more

Alex and his crew did a garage conversion plus addition for us. They turned a 2 car garage into a gorgeous 1000 sq ft apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a full kitchen and a laundry room. Their attention to detail and creativity was apparent at every step, and the end result is beautiful. We are renovating three boarded up abandoned houses in the Oakland Historic District in Downtown Phoenix. When we tried to get bids for the job, several contractors would not take on the project. Several others wanted more money than the houses would ever be worth. The Gordon brothers said that they would take on the project and would work within our budget. These houses were built in the 1930's and were in very rough shape. Once demolition started, we found numerous unexpected problems. Alex and Danny continue to have great attitudes. They have solved framing issues, foundation issues, roofing issues, collapsed sewer lines... the list goes on. If the problem is not within the scope of their expertise, they quickly get several bids from other contractors within that specialty. Although new to the area, they have already formed great relationships within their profession. Once they bid out the job, they give us the bids and offer their opinions on how they believe the task should be completed. It is our choice who completes the work.. The Gordons are in constant communication with us. They explain what problems they have found and how they plan to deal with them. We have met all of their crew. We continue to be impressed by the teams work ethic. We have been on the work site on a regular basis. In addition to being very respectful, we have never seen them goofing off. If they do stop working, they are discussing how they will solve the next problem. The project has been slow going, but now we see clear progress every day. I believe that the entire crew is proud of the progress they have made. I highly recommend them for any project. read more
