You "can" take your film to a big pharmacy chain to have it developed, but those companies ship out to a third party. It takes time. There's a risk of damaging the film. It's not supporting local. Kerry's team does it in house & does it quickly. They also use WeTransfer now, so if you don't need your negatives, you don't have to go back to pick up your goods. The prices are super reasonable & all the folks who work at Kerry's are pleasant to interact with. Highly recommend Kerry's & all of her film-related services. I can't speak to printing & framing & whatnot, but if they apply the same diligence they use for developing film to their other services, I'm sure they're fabulous.

I looked online for a local camera repair shop and found Midstate Camera Repair. My camera booboo occurred on a Saturday afternoon, and they close at noon on Saturdays and are closed Sundays, so I panicked for an entire weekend before I could drop my camera off first thing Monday morning. Well let's just say I was super relieved after bringing my camera in to Midstate Camera Repair. It's owned by two brothers and they are both so nice. They told me not to worry and that the part of the camera I had inadvertently touched was something they could easily clean and even if the part had somehow gotten scratched and needed to be replaced (it was some kind of internal lens made of frosted glass, can't remember what it's called) it would only cost an extra $10. Cleaning it was $45. This was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be because I wasn't sure what was wrong and at the time it wasn't even taking pictures so I was freaking out. Not gonna lie. Mark (one of the owners) told me my camera would probably be ready by the following Wednesday, but I actually got a call a few hours later letting me know it was already fixed and ready to go! What a delightful surprise! Not only was it cheap, but also fast, and the service can't be beat. I know that from now on I will NOT take it upon myself to try and clean stray hairs or dust or whatnot from inside my camera because I will inadvertently screw up my camera. I've learned my lesson and from now on I will only be bringing it to Midstate Camera Repair for all of my camera needs!
