Everything from vegetables to flower, bread, jams, and jellies to fresh made pasta, really just to many things to mention here. Come on down and see for yourself. They even have live music.

Who: Local farmers in their overalls, hippies, kids running around and the moms who chase them,…read morecollege students, and maybe even a bluegrass band. What: Fruits, vegetables, plants, herbs, jams, preserves, eggs, cheese, fresh cut flowers, pastas, Uprise Bakery breads, Missouri Legacy beef, and more all grown/raised/baked with love within a 55 mile radius of that very spot. Where: Behind the ARC on the corner of Ash and Clinkscales. Lots of parking, folks. When: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon. Why: Because you love waking up to the smell of organic breakfast burritos and you deserve a Saturday morning slice of banana bread. Because you bought that canvas tote bag and by golly you want to fill it up. Because you LOVE fresh basil and some Yelper named Chelsea B. said they have the best blackberries she has EVER tasted and you want to try them, too. Because it really is fresh and local, it isn't shipped in on a diesel-fueled truck from Chile, these are nice people doing right by the world, and you want to support it. Well go you.

We arrived early to beat the crowds, and it was definitely worth it. Parking seems much improved thanks to expanded lots and additional street parking throughout the surrounding area. The busiest stop by far was Nitchals Farm, where nearly 25 people were already lined up at 7:30 a.m. waiting for homegrown tomatoes and fresh produce. Not wanting to miss out (a little FOMO never hurts!), we joined the line ourselves. While we waited, several people couldn't stop talking about how good their tomatoes are, so it felt like we made the right choice. Another favorite was Bazaar Spice, which offers an impressive selection of spices available by the scoop or in bottles. We picked up two bottles for $15 and chose the Italian Blend and Salsa Blend, both of which smelled amazing. Every vendor we visited was welcoming and friendly, and there was an incredible variety of high-quality products throughout the market. It's easy to see why this has become such a popular community destination. We're already looking forward to making it part of our weekly summer routine. A few tips: - Arrive early for the best selection, especially if you're hoping to grab fresh tomatoes. - Bring a few large reusable shopping bags--you'll likely leave with more than you planned! Current Market Hours - Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (April 18 - September 26) - Wednesdays: 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (June 3 - September 2) - Fall Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (October 3 - November 21)

Food, honey, maybe 50 kinds of jam, bison sausage, you name it, there's something for everybody. Only knock is I wish there'd been more coffee vendors, but the croissants more than made up for it. They corral off the surrounding streets for the market, so budget for parking two or three blocks out and walking in -- worth it. Vibe-wise it's got the same energy as the River Market downtown, but way more breathing room between booths, which makes it a lot more approachable if you actually want to browse instead of shuffling shoulder to shoulder. Will be back.
